Molly’s POV
Ever since Gianni opened up about his reason for leaving that night, the pain in my heart dissipated, and his attention and closeness to us during the weeks that followed continued to bring us together.
Most of the time, I felt like the family I always longed for was finally given to me. Roger was so sweet and even took my advice when I suggested getting rid of his wild pets for him to sleep better.
He was saddened when his pets were taken away, but Gianni had them replaced with a puppy and a kitten. Those cute little creatures brought me joy, and I could sleep in his room sometimes without fear.
Roger was depressed for a few days, but now he no longer wakes up due to nightmares, which makes me happy.
Every day since I started working out, Gianni and Roger have been there to support me. Roger is skilled at defending and attacking, capable of taking down two full-grown men.
His dedication and resilience inspired me until Hank arrived. It was reassuring to know he was ‘Smile’, and despite feeling uneasy about Roger's comments regarding a potential confrontation between him and Gianni because of me, I was pleased that he taught me a valuable lesson.
I always feared causing harm with my punches, but when he struck me relentlessly, I realized I had to fight back, which seemed to be exactly what Gianni wanted.
As training concluded, Hank and Gianni exchanged whispers so I decided to excuse them.
“I'll go make us a special breakfast,” I declared, with Roger following behind. “I'll help if you promise to sing.”
I lifted Roger in my arms and planted a kiss on his cheek. “Anything for you, little champ.”
He brought me immense joy, and I felt a sense of ownership over him. If anyone dared to take him away from me, I would not hesitate to act.
“Did he mention singing?” Hank inquired, and I blushed as Gianni replied, “You have no idea. She even has me helping in the kitchen just to hear her sing.”
Gianni indeed helped a few times in the kitchen but it was basically because he wanted me to sing more.
The changes made me feel as if a dead part of me had suddenly resurrected again.
Although I contemplated resuming my singing career, the thought of facing the crowd again was daunting. Nevertheless, my self-confidence had returned, and I felt prepared to confront the world once more.
I dedicated my first song to Hank, noticing the envy in Gianni's eyes, and the second to him, and the third to Roger.
Breakfast felt like a lavish feast as we chatted and laughed, resembling a true family.
“Thank you, Molly, for bringing joy to this once sorrowful family,” Hank teased before departing.
Finally, I understood the reason behind his peculiar glances earlier. It was because he remembered me when I did not.
After Hank left, Gianni and I assisted Roger in taking a shower, and he appeared ready for a nap. His puppy and kitten lay beside him as we exited the room.
“I'll go shower and work on writing some songs. Maybe take a nap as well,” I informed Gianni, who seemed like he wanted to say something but simply nodded.
“Of course, I have some tasks to attend to, but feel free to come over if you need anything.”
In the shower, I vividly recalled Hank's words about cutting Nicole's tongue because of me. I had not seen her around for the past few weeks, so I never asked, but now I was starting to wonder if it was true.
A part of me couldn't shake off the thought, especially regarding his mother. After my shower and drying my hair, I decided to have a chat with him.
I knocked twice on his door, but there was no response, so I asked a passing maid if she had seen Gianni. She replied, "No, ma'am, he hasn't come out since going in."
I debated whether to enter his room or go back to get my phone to call him. Remembering his offer to come over if I needed anything, I decided to enter his room.
As I turned the knob, the door opened to reveal a neat and luxurious space. His bedroom was so large that he could be anywhere. I heard a groan along with some other strange noise, like something hitting a wall.
"Gianni," I called out, noticing his MacBook on the bed. I walked to his balcony and the view was stunning, with the sound of the shower drowning out the groans.
I was concerned that he might be in pain and wanted to help, but remembering that night in his drunken state when he returned home, I decided to stay put.
Suddenly, the sound of the shower ceased. Contemplating whether to leave or stay, I decided to step out briefly and return after a few minutes when he would be dressed.
However, in my haste, I accidentally collided with something hard, nearly causing me to fall to the floor.
Gianni swiftly caught me before I could hit the ground, but his sudden movement caused the towel around his waist to slip off, I quicky fixed my gaze on his face, revealing his damp hair and intense gaze.
“Molly, why are you here?” he inquired. I tried to respond, but the proximity to his naked body left me speechless, and before I knew it, his lips were on mine. I was left bewildered by the unexpected turn of events.
