Wesley’s POV
I felt cheated after witnessing everything when Santiago returned to the restaurant manager’s room we had used before.
Due to our previous arrangement, I arrived as scheduled, still unable to get over what had happened at the park that day.
Fortunately, I left before Don Gio arrived, as he would have held me responsible for Molly’s disappearance. However, seeing them together indicated that he had eventually found her.
My company has been experiencing a shortage of staff recently, causing me to almost miss this meeting. Dozens of my staff resigned on the same day, leading me to hire new employees, only to have some of them resign again.
I couldn't determine who was enticing them with better offers to make them leave, but I have been working overtime to meet the company's expectations.
Similarly, some of my remaining staff members have expressed their desire to resign due to the heavy workload, but I am unable to increase their wages.
Despite these challenges, nothing pained me more than seeing Molly with Don Gio.
There was a certain allure about her that I couldn't quite grasp, and she exuded a captivating charm that left me feeling heated as I watched her from the screen of the computer.
It was not surprising that every man in the room had their eyes on her, and I couldn't help but wonder if she was having an affair with Don Gio. Although it was too late for regrets, I longed to have her back.
If she could accept Don Gio's son and treat him as her own, then perhaps she could accept mine as well, right?
Lost in these thoughts, the highlight of the evening unfolded as Molly accepted the challenge to sing.
Throughout our two-year marriage, she had never used her singing voice, adamantly stating that she would never sing again. Yet, on this occasion, she sang in front of the crowd.
Though it was a small gesture, it reminded me of her days of fame when I felt fortunate to be her boyfriend. We were deeply in love, and I had never planned on leaving her until Kiara returned, disrupting my life.
If I could turn back time, there are certain things I would have changed. Molly's smile was radiant, and Don Gio's gaze on her was unlike any other. He was typically aloof, but with Molly, there was a tenderness in his eyes that revealed his deep care for her.
I didn't know the details of their past, but I regretted his reappearance. Molly would have been left with nothing, returning to being my mistress since she couldn't bear me a child.
"It doesn't change the fact that she's a homewrecker," Erica interjected abruptly. Despite her enduring fame, I anticipated most people would side with her, yet they consistently voted for Molly, the fallen singer.
A sudden slap sent Erica tumbling to the floor, and I couldn't tear my gaze away from the fact that Molly was the one who delivered it. Then, I recalled Wade's account of her altercation with Kiara in the pack.
What had become of the sweet, kind Molly I once knew? The woman before me now exuded a seductive, vengeful aura, devoid of mercy.
Don Gio's approving glare at her actions indicated his support for her.
"Before you accuse me, ensure you have concrete evidence. Thanks to individuals like you, the guilty roam freely while I must hide my face in public, but not anymore."
This marked Molly's first defense against the scandal, elegantly recorded by Don Gio. If this were to be revealed, she might regain some of her lost fans.
Jamie helped Erica to her feet, but she remained resolute in her mission to bring Molly down, to no avail.
"I have proof, Molly. The incriminating pictures are still on my phone," Erica asserted.
"Let me see them," Don Gio requested. Erica's face, still flushed from Molly's slap, transformed dramatically as she retrieved her phone.
"It was there before. The same image of her and director Christopher in bed," Erica declared confidently.
Molly's confident smile sent a shiver down my spine. It was as though a different persona had taken over her.
"Even if you had those pictures, let me pose a question. If someone drugged you and you woke up next to a man, does that make you a homewrecker?" Molly challenged.
Erica was left speechless, but a voice from the crowd spoke up. "It could happen to anyone. My daughter was framed once, and her boyfriend ended their relationship."
"I, myself, was set up a day before my wedding, but my fiancé at the time refused to believe it and still married me," another woman spoke among the guests, waving her hand to display her wedding ring.
"Thank you," Molly said to them before locking eyes with Erica. "But you know what, I only blame the person who drugged me that night, and I will make her pay."
"Molly, why didn’t you stand up for yourself before?" Another guest asked, a sad smile curling her lips.
"I tried, but no one believed me, so I gave up."
If only I had stood by her to help clear her name, but I was selfish. If she had still been famous, I doubt she would have married me or been as submissive as she was when every man wanted to bed her.
Don Gio held out his hand to her, leading her back to her chair as he wiped her tears and said something that made her laugh. Then he turned to Jamie.
"Molly won, so tell Don Black to come out."
I don’t know what Don Black said, but Molly moved beside Jamie, and Erica moved to sit beside Don Gio. "What’s going on?" I asked Santiago as I saw Molly being led away, but the next moment, Don Gio pulled out his gun and shot Erica in the leg.
As a popular actress, did he even know what he was getting himself into?
