"hey- where did all of my energy drinks go?" the h/c headed girl asked herself in confusion as she moved some leftover food around in the fridge that definitely had some kind of disease lurking in those containers.
"i took them." a gruff voice came from behind her as she looked up; careful not to hit her head on the top of the fridge.
as she lifted her head she was welcomed by the sight of a sweaty Bakugo in his black tank top and sweatpants, most likely coming back from his morning run. "i've decided that i'm going to help you eat healthier and explore more food, starting with those damn energy drinks, you'll be dead at 30 if you keep drinking them." he said in a slightly irritated voice, usually working out calmed his temper down, but today he seemed extra bitchy; or maybe y/n just hated to be bossed around.
Bakugo roughly shoved a pack of tea bags into her hand, the force behind his motion almost causing them to spill from the crinkled plastic. his fingers brushed against hers in a quick, sharp gesture.
"tea has less caffeine, less sugar, and is good for gut health, if you want to be a pro hero one day a good diet is essential." he said gruffly, his voice low and sharp, carrying an edge of impatience
y/n stared at the ash blonde boy, her gaze lingering on his sharp features and the slight warmness in his eyes, before her attention shifted to the box in her hands. "are you like secretly British or something?"
ignoring her comment, albeit not without scowling for a split second, the blond pointed to the back of the box, showing the variety of different teas it held. "there's green tea which is good for reducing inflammation, jasmine tea which helps with oily skin, chamomile is good for stress relief, peppermint tea for acne, and normal black tea for a caffeine boost." As he looked at the girl, his gaze meeting hers, he was met with a look of shock that flickered across her face, only to quickly morph into a smirk.
"you care about me don't you bakugo?" (you like krabby patties don't you squidward ๐)
the boy scoffed quickly becoming defensive, "i care about all my classmates dumb ass, you're not special, now boil some water or i'll boil you."
y/n, slightly confused from his statement, turned her attention to the electric kettle turning it on. she grabbed one of the many mugs in the cupboard, coincidentally grabbing Bakugo's plain black one, that quite in character had a couple of cracks and chips, and setting it on the counter.
"but seriously those energy drinks are expensive, you owe me $28 for that pack." she stated setting a random tea bag she had grabbed from the box into the mug.
Bakugo's eyes widened and his jaw dropped, "$28 for cancer in a can?! what the fuck are they putting in those things?" he asked in an agitated tone, his slight frown morphing into a scowl.
"don't ask me, i heard you could get All Might nudes for that price."
as he was about to say something the kettle beeped interrupting his train of thought; probably for the better, he did NOT want to have that image in his head.
he poured the boiling water into the mug watching as the tea bag rose to the top for a split second, before sinking back down.
"whatever, i'll pay you back later, and make sure to eat something with the tea, it's not good to have caffeine on an empty stomach." he rummaged through the cabinet, his movements quick as he handed her an apple and a granola bar.
the h/c headed girl happily took the snacks from his hand and examined them closely before holding up the granola bar, "does this have walnuts in it?"
bakugo looked over at her with a confused expression, "yeah why?"
"i don't like walnuts."
the crimson-eyed boy stared at her, his gaze incredulous, as if she had just said the most ridiculous thing imaginable. his expression darkened, eyebrows raising slightly, "it's a walnut. they're not even that bad, you're overreacting."
"well i don't like walnuts." she put the granola bar back before getting out a cutting board and a knife to cut the apple up.
"that's a bread knife dumbass."
she looked over at him then back at the knife in her hand, "so?"
Bakugo rolled his eyes and grabbed a normal knife, "the bread knife has ridges so it can cut through bread crust more easily, a normal knife is smooth so it can cut fruits and vegetables." he handed her the knife and took the bread knife out of her hand roughly, emphasizing his frustration.
God its like ysitting a damn toddler
y/n nodded and set the apple down before making the first mistake of cutting towards herself.
he groaned in annoyance as he dictated her on what to do, "no no no you're supposed to- tch just let me show you."
before y/n could protest Bakugo came behind her and grabbed her hands to show her the proper way to cut. "see? you cut away from yourself so you don't stab yourself, and considering that it's you it's very much a possibility."
y/n nodded obediently (albeit slightly offended), and cut the fruit with the guidance of Bakugo's hands. it was a good thing her back was facing him, that way he couldn't see the growing blush on her face as his hands guided hers. after they were done y/n admired the work that she- well her and Bakugo had done. "thanks for not making me look like a Kardashian."
the crimson eyed boy, who was slightly amused by her joke, nodded before grabbing ahold of the mug and placing a few sugarcanes into it since she had chosen a normal black tea bag. "black tea is kind of bitter for some people so i'll allow a two sugar cube rule." he roughly stirred the contents around with a small dainty spoon; quite the sight to see, before handing her the mug.
y/n looked at Bakugo and smiled gratefully as she took a small sip from the mug, surprisingly not immediately complaining about the taste, "thank you Bakugo." she said her voice filled with appreciation.
the blond wasn't known for his kindness, heck some people didn't even think he had the ability to be nice to someone. just this fact made y/n appreciate his actions a little bit more.
the boy nodded curtly trying to keep his annoyed facade, "yeah whatever, i'll help you with dinner tonight too, and don't procrastinate on your homework."
with that Bakugo walked away shoving his hands roughly into his pockets.
as y/n watched bakugo go into the boys washroom to take a shower she discreetly smiled to herself and whispered, "i won't."
