the pool party was now official. Kaminari had somehow managed to get Aizawa to let them use the pool, i guess deep down he knows that a break is good every once in a while, even for hero's in training.
"you brought the hamburger buns, right Bakugo?" Kirishima asked as he walked along side Bakugo towards the pool.
"of course i did shitty hair i'm not stupid, who would bring the hamburger patties without the buns?" he grumbled squeezing the packaging in his hands.
Kirishima chuckled as he set the condiments and other various things to put on a cheeseburger on the table, "alright alright man. oh y/n volunteered to bring some hotdogs in case anyone wanted one instead of a hamburger."
Bakugo nodded in acknowledgment as he set the buns down next to the condiments, "she better not forget the hotdog buns."
about 10 minutes passed and everyone was starting to arrive. some people brought popsicles to put in the cooler while others brought some soda. Kaminari even brought a big flamingo floaty for everyone.
Bakugo was occupied with making the food when he felt someone tap his shoulder, he quickly turned around to see y/n holding up some hotdogs and hotdog buns, "can i help?" she asked with a smile on her face.
Bakugo looked at her before nodding and taking the hotdogs from her, "thanks." he set them on the grill that the teachers had left for them. apparently the teachers also had a day off, not that it was a secret, Present Mic had played music on the speakers so loudly neighboring houses complained.
y/n watched as Bakugo cooked the hamburgers and hot dogs, the grill making sizzling and popping noises. she thought to herself why Bakugo had that same stance that her dad had when he cooked on the grill.
"are you gonna swim or something?" the blond asked not taking his eyes off of the food.
she snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the ash blonde boy before remembering that this was a pool party, "oh yeah I will, but you should come too, get someone else to cook for a bit." she tried to reason with him hoping that he could take his eyes off of the food for a little bit.
Bakugo thought for a second before Iida came over, "i will help Bakugo! you go and bond with our classmates!" he yelled before standing in front of the grill and flipping the burgers.
before he could protest he was dragged over to the pool by y/n, "hey slow down dumb ass!" he yelled. he followed the girl as she took off her shirt revealing her bathing suit, it was a really pretty f/c swimsuit that made her e/c eyes pop.
"come let's get in the water! i want to get on the flamingo floaty that Kaminari got!" she said as she went over to the edge of the pool.
taken aback by her enthusiasm, he took his shirt off and followed her into the water, in all honesty he had never been a fan of swimming, preferred stable ground, but he had to admit it was pretty fun when he was hanging out with y/n who seemed to enjoy the water so much.
y/n looked over and saw Kaminari and Sero on the flamingo floaty, who were acting like tyrants and making sure to push anyone off who tried to get on it with them.
Mina was especially pissed off and kept trying to get with them, only to be pushed off again, "dumb motherfuckers let me on!" she yelled, y/n new when Mina was upset, but right now she was MAD.
Bakugo smirked at the scene and nudged y/n with his elbow, "why don't we teach those fuckers a lesson?" he asked.
y/n looked over at the two boys laughing and pushing Mineta back into the water (who was pretty close to drowning, not like anyone cared though) before looking back over at him and nodding.
as if they could read each other's minds they went underwater and got under the floaty, Bakugo held up three fingers (at least that's what y/n thinks because her vision was blurry) before counting down. when he put the last finger down they used the bottom of the pool to boost themselves up before effectively knocking over the floaty from underneath.
their hearing was blurred from behind under the water but when they broke the surface they could hear both of the boys scream loudly as they were flipped over, Kaminari landing right on top of Mineta.
Bakugo bursted out in laughter and pointed at the two looking around in utter confusion, "fuckin' idiots."
flipping the floaty right side up he got on it and reached his hand out to y/n to help her up, "grab my hand i'll help you up."
from afar Kaminari and Sero watched as the h/c girl grabbed his hand and got on the floaty with him. Kaminari nudged Sero and wiggled his eyebrows to which Sero just rolled his eyes. "I think he likes her." Kaminari said giggling. Sero rolled his eyes again, "you're acting like a middle schooler."
meanwhile Mina was trying to jump on the floaty by running by the side of the pool to get closer, "damn raccoon eyes GET AWAY!" Bakugo yelled as he pushed off the ledge to move away.
"Ashido! that is not safe, you can't run by the pool you'll slip!" Iida came in, moving his arms up and down as usual.
"YEAH LISTEN TO FOUR EYES!" Bakugo yelled as small explosions came from his hand, unfortunately he wasn't paying attention to where the explosions went when suddenly the floaty popped leaving Bakugo and y/n to fall back into the water and Kaminari yelling that his floaty blew up.
"NO MY FLOATY!!"
Mina was laughing her ass off as Bakugo and y/n broke the surface of the water before looking at each other and laughing while Kaminari grabbed the remains of his floaty, "you guys owe me $50!"
y/n cut in before he could say anything else, "only Bakugo does he's the one who popped it!" she protested.
"burgers and hotdogs are ready you guys!" Kirishima called before Bakugo could strangle y/n. Kirishima set the plate of food on a table next to a bunch of condiments and other foods.
everyone grabbed a paper plate and grabbed either a burger or a hotdog and a drink to go along with it.
Bakugo watched as y/n grabbed a plain burger with only cheese on it, "you should put something else on it, don't want a plain hamburger." he shoved a piece of lettuce onto her plate along with some mustard, "try it it's good." with that he grumbled and sat down with his friends.
y/n smiled before putting the mustard and lettuce on her burger and sitting down with the girls.
"it was in!"
"no it was out i saw it!"
Mina and Hagakure were arguing over their volleyball game when Tsu looked over to y/n, "i saw that Bakugo popped the floaty you were on, you're ok right?"
y/n smiled at her concern before nodding, "thanks for asking Tsu but i'm fine, if anything it was kind of fun."
"oooo y/n has a crushhhh." Mina rocked back in forth in her chair as she teased y/n in a sing songy voice.
Tsu rolled her eyes and cut in, "you had a crush on Discord from My Little Pony Mina."
"she read fan fictions about him and everything," Yaoyorozu said as she covered her mouth with her hand.
"i told you guys not to tell anyone!" she yelled, "i was high before I could get high," she tried to reason.
swallowing her food y/n frantically shook her head, "i already said i don't like him, we're just getting closer, no one says Kirishima likes him and they hang out a lot." she countered.
"i do," Uraraka said, everyone kind of nodded along.
"while i do think Bakugo and Kirishima are gay for each other sometimes, when Bakugo is around you he's more... how do i put this, less likely to murder someone." Jirou pointed out.
Yaoyorozu nodded in agreement with Jirou, "i too have noticed that, it could be signs that he likes you or he just finds you less annoying than the others."
"probably both."
all the girls nodded whilst y/n's face was getting hotter by the second, "even if he does, which he doesn't, how am i supposed to ask him? just walk up to him and say 'hey Bakugo i heard that you like me, so is it true or not?'"
"why not though?" Uraraka asked.
"i don't think you should be the one giving advice Ochako, you're not the best when it comes to confessing feelings," Tsu stated as she sipped on her drink.
as the girls keep chatting y/n looked over to Bakugo who was eating his food next to Kirishima and Sero as they arm wrestled. she smiled to herself before turning back to her food that Bakugo suggested she try.
she liked it.
