"Oh my God, I'm so sorry! I thought you were—" My face burned as I looked up at the guy towering over me.
I recognized him instantly—Ryan Lowell, Ethan's basketball team captain. His face was all over my brother's Instagram.
"You're Ethan's little sister?" He straightened, and damn, he was huge. Broad shoulders, muscles that looked like they could crush me without trying, and this... presence that made the air feel thicker.
And okay, fine—he was hot.
I took an involuntary step back, my skin prickling under his stare. Even my bra felt damp, my whole body overheating. "Y-yeah," I managed, voice embarrassingly shaky.
His eyes swept the apartment. "Place is spotless. Almost thought I walked into the wrong unit."
My gaze flicked to his Adam's apple as it bobbed, and I quickly looked away, ears on fire. "N-no big deal. Just keeping things clean."
Ryan smirked, his voice a low rumble. "Yeah, my room's a disaster."
I swallowed. "If... if you want, I could clean it for you."
"Sure." His eyes dropped to the laundry piled on the couch. "You even wash your brother's underwear?"
Mortification shot through me. "N-no! Those are just his extra clothes!"
"Oh." He tilted his head, a slow grin spreading. "Then can you wash mine?"
My breath caught. I kept my eyes glued to the floor, face burning.
Who the hell asks a girl to wash their boxers the first time they meet?
But under that intense stare, I bit my lip, remembering Ethan's promise: "Sis, I'll make it big one day. No one's gonna look down on us ever again."
I lifted my chin. "Fine. I'll do it."
If this helped Ethan stay on the captain's good side, a few pairs of underwear were nothing.
Without another word, I marched to his room.
It was chaotic—clothes everywhere—but not dirty. And his closet? An absurd amount of boxers.
Face flaming, I washed every last pair and hung them on the balcony.
By the time I finished, it was dark outside.
"Ryan... have you eaten?"
"Nah." He was sprawled on the couch, eyes tracking my every move like a predator.
His gaze was molten, stripping me bare without even touching me.
"I'll make you noodles."
I practically fled to the kitchen, desperate for space.
"Sweet." He shifted, his massive hand accidentally brushing against my ass.
I froze, staring at him.
His face was unreadable.
Just an accident. Don't freak out.
I sucked in a breath and bolted to the stove.
When I set the bowl down and turned, those smoldering eyes locked onto me again. I flinched. "I-I'm gonna go to my room."
His fingers grazed my backside once more, the heat searing through my clothes, setting my whole body on fire.
