Louis teased, "Laura, do you know what they're all up to?"
Laura shook her head and said innocently, "I don't know, but I can try my best."
Blade and Joshua exchanged a glance, finding each other equally disagreeable.
Blade said, "You do have quite the ambition, but you might try working with me first, get used to my job.
Joshua chimed in, "Same here."
Laura nodded vigorously, "Sure. I'll come visit you guys during my vacation, just for some sightseeing."
Joshua chuckled helplessly. "My daughter is still a child. I don't want her under too much pressure. Besides, your line of work is too dangerous. I just want her to be safe and sound."
Louis agreed wholeheartedly. "Exactly. She's a born actress. Why should she get involved in these life-threatening jobs like you guys?"
Joshua lit a cigarette and said cryptically, "The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. You know nothing."
Robert rolled his eyes. "Laura, don't listen to them. There are too many people who want to kill them. You should work with me from now on."
Joshua and Blade turned to him sharply.
Robert didn't want to be outdone. He looked back and asked, "What do you think?"
The group locked eyes, sparks flying between them.
Favian frowned. "Alright, let's go back. If we're all seen out here, it'll attract too much attention. Save your discussions for later."
In the corner, Tyson breathed a sigh of relief and walked away.
He knew there would be trouble, but luckily everything turned out fine.
'However, if Laura is willing to join me as a hacker, that is also fine.
'Haha,' Tyson thought.
Meanwhile, Favian ordered, "Laura, go backstage and have a good rest."
He then looked at Xander beside him. "And you, as the host, can you stay here?"
Xander suddenly realized and promptly ran off.
He had forgotten he was the host.
Seeing this, others could only disperse as well.
Everett and Jasper flanked Laura, intentionally squeezing Zayn out.
Everett looked furious. "I'm not trying to pick on you, Laura, but other girls always go to the restroom hand in hand. Why do you always go alone?"
Laura looked innocent. "Because I'm used to it. When I was in the orphanage, not many girls wanted to be with me. Zayn was the only one who played with me, but I couldn't ask Zayn to go to the restroom with me, so I got used to going alone."
Everett and Jasper were stunned, their expressions softened with pity.
Everett said, "It's okay. Zayn is thick-skinned. Next time you take Zayn with you. No one will dare to say anything."
Zayn replied, "How could you say something like that?"
Jasper also disagreed. "Everett, what's the point of having Zayn accompany her to the restroom? We need to address the root of the problem. Whenever Lala was alone, they would pounce on her like hungry wolves on their prey. We need to retaliate."
Laura's eyes widened. "Retaliate?"
Jasper looked at her seriously. "Yes, let them know that you're not someone to be messed with, so they'll never dare to lay a hand on you again."
Zayn nodded with interest. "Indeed."
But she didn't want to. "But wasn't it Grandma Carol who attacked me? Are we going to find Carol?"
Everett sneered, "Forget about Carol, let's find Rachel."
Laura was taken aback, but Everett didn't give her a chance to argue. He dragged her along. "Let's go. We'll confront the Hoover family and give them a beating."
Jasper acted quickly, taking out the surveillance to check. "Those three people are in the multimedia classroom on the sixth floor. Let's hurry over. They might be plotting something."
Zayn smirked coldly. "Hmph."
Laura was confused.
They dragged her directly to the multimedia classroom on the sixth floor.
Laura hesitated. "I've never intentionally harmed anyone before. Let's forget it."
Zayn said coldly, "We'll handle it for you. You don't need to worry."
Laura bit her lip, looking at the determined trio of teenagers.
Though she understood, she couldn't bring herself to act.
Everett raised his hand, signaling for them to be quiet.
Faint voices could be heard from the multimedia classroom.
Rachel said, "I heard that Mrs. Carol Yale's attempt to capture Laura failed again. I think this is our chance. We should help catch Laura."
Leroy agreed, "Rachel is right, that's exactly what we should do."
Jeremy sounded indifferent. "How should we do it? Push her down the stairs again? Frame her again? Bully her?"
The classroom fell silent for a moment. Rachel exclaimed angrily, "Jeremy, what's with your attitude? We're having a meeting here."
Jeremy said with disgust, "I'm just tired of endlessly discussing how to harm Laura."
Zayn's expression darkened, and he looked warily at Jeremy through the gap.
Everett raised an eyebrow. "Does this guy actually have a conscience?"
Zayn replied, "Is this what you call a conscience? I don't even want to expose him."
Jasper suddenly felt a pang of jealousy and looked at Zayn speechlessly. "Are you jealous over this?"
Laura was bewildered. "Jealous? Jealous for what?"
Zayn remained silent.
Rachel inside the room was not pleased. "Jeremy, I've noticed that you're getting closer to Laura lately, but don't forget, we can only get a big sum of money if we surpass Laura."
Jeremy was agitated. "I've already become an actor now, and I'll strive to become a good actor to earn lots of money. Can't I use my money to support you guys later? Can't you just let go of all this and stop bothering with Laura?"
Leroy and Rachel both exclaimed, "No!"
Jeremy fell silent.
Rachel's tone was firm. "Let me make it clear, Jeremy. No matter what you think now, Laura is the key to us getting a large sum of money. You're a member of the Hoover family, so you must work with us."
Jeremy was speechless.
Laura was left dumbfounded.
Jasper sneered, "The Hoover family only has Jeremy who has a clear mind. And Lala, you saw it, right? You don't want to harm them, but they will still harm you, especially Rachel."
Laura furrowed her brows, feeling a bit angry.
It seems they would never stop it.
Inside the classroom, Jeremy couldn't take it anymore. He pushed away the table and said, "I'm done. Do whatever you want, I won't be dragged down with you anyway."
Rachel was shocked and became even more agitated. "Drag you down? Who would drag you down? Us? We're just quietly planning. Would anyone even notice?"
Ignoring them, Jeremy stormed to the door. As he opened it, he found himself locking eyes with Laura.
Jeremy was shocked.
Rachel was left dumbfounded.
Leroy was speechless.
Laura stood at the doorway, unfazed by being caught. She spoke in a childish tone, "I heard everything."
Rachel's pupils contracted.
Laura's gaze fell upon Rachel, filled with disappointment. "What my brothers and Zayn said is true. You all have no shame, except for Jeremy."
Laura shook her head and said innocently, "I don't know, but I can try my best."
Blade and Joshua exchanged a glance, finding each other equally disagreeable.
