Dexter walked up from the side and looked at Joshua with particular disgust. "And me. I'm traveling with my son this time. You can't let anything happen to him. If so, just wait and see!"
Joshua tutted lightly. "Sure. I've laid a trap here. Even if I'm drunk, I can still protect my nephew and niece!"
Dexter's eyes lit up. "If you want to drink, I won't be sleepy. Let's go now!"
Joshua laughed. "Okay!"
They walk straight to the suite.
Xander was speechless. "So I said these adults are unreliable!"
He turned to Laura. "Follow me. Don't follow Joshua and Dexter. They are drunkards."
Laura nodded. Suddenly, someone passed by her and dropped something.
She hurriedly picked it up and gave it back with both hands. "Sir, you dropped something!"
The man turned to look at her.
Laura was shocked.
The man was old, perhaps in his fifties or sixties. Although there were wrinkles on his face, he was still gentle and cultivated.
His facial features were delicate and handsome, showing vaguely the handsomeness of his youth.
Laura was dumbfounded for a moment. The man walked up to her and held the room card in his hand, saying in a low voice, "Thank you, kid."
Laura suddenly came back to her senses and waved her hand, indicating that it was her pleasure. Then she turned around and jumped up to follow Zayn.
There were so many good-looking people!
Sebastian was good-looking.
Tyler was handsome!
This old man was also quite a looker!
Would she become a good-looking old woman in her old age?
The man stared at her back, and the more he saw it, the more familiar he felt.
The assistant called him, "Mr. Yale, the room is ready."
Albert Yale came back to his senses and brushed past the assistant. He suddenly thought of something. "By the way, did you find Lilian's whereabouts? What kind of job did she get when she got out of prison?"
The assistant's expression froze slightly and he said awkwardly, "Mr. Yale, it is not easy for you to take a few days off. You should wait until the vacation is over."
Albert knitted his eyebrows and quickly realized that something was wrong. "I want to know what she is doing now! Can't you tell me?"
The assistant bit his lower lip and hesitated, "Ms. Yale... passed away."
Albert was lost for words.
He was stunned and asked in disbelief, "What's the cause of death?"
The assistant hesitated and said, "It was a car accident. It happened because she seduced a married man. She was chased by the man's wife and ran onto the road. Then she was hit by a car. Of course, the perpetrator had borne the corresponding legal responsibility."
Albert continued to ask, "Where are the people who chased her on the road?"
The assistant said, "The two people ran away after the accident. It was handled as a car accident. But I recently investigated that the married man had died at that time and the woman who chased after Ms. Yale had been hiding."
Albert's face gradually darkened. "Go on. How did the man die?"
The assistant said, "The man fell into the lake after getting drunk and drowned. The woman got involved in gambling and owed tens of thousands of dollars. She has cut off relations with her family and is being pursued by creditors."
Albert looked better. "What about Winnie's reaction?"
The assistant replied, "Not long after Ms. Winnie Yale knew the death news, the married man died and the woman ran away. Maybe she secretly manipulated it."
Albert instantly came around. A trace of satisfaction flashed across his eyes, and he was even more irritated. "When I asked her to go with me back then, she insisted on staying by that woman's side."
The assistant expressed deep regret and then thought of something. "By the way, Ms. Lilian Yale gave birth to a beautiful daughter named Laura. Now she has become a little actress and is adopted by Ms. Winnie Yale."
The assistant showed him the photo and said, "Look."
Seeing the girl's eyes and eyebrows, Albert changed his expression and looked in the direction where Laura had left.
It was her?
The assistant tilted his head and followed Albert's gaze. "Mr. Yale, what are you looking at?"
Albert looked at the end of the corridor quietly and suddenly felt the remaining warmth of the room card in his palm. "I saw that child."
The assistant was stunned.
He smiled and said, "Lilian's child is here."
The assistant was stunned. "What?"
Albert returned to his room with great excitement, changed into a casual outfit, and went out to the open-air restaurant.
Sure enough, Laura was playing on the slide in the children's area. "Come on! Let's see who will go down first!"
Zayn stood beside her and said in disgust, "You are so childish."
She pouted. "Don't you want to play?"
Zayn choked, sighed helplessly, sat beside her, and slid down with her.
The little girl laughed from ear to ear.
Albert was fascinated by it.
Laura really looked like Lilian.
In a trance, he saw the four-year-old Lilian running towards him. "Dad!"
He squatted down and picked her up. "My little princess, do you want to play on the slide?"
Lilian smiled, "Yeah!"
She grabbed him and was about to leave, but Carol stopped her. "Have you solved the math problems? Can you study like your brothers and sisters? Can you stop dragging our family down like this?!"
Lilian was frightened and let go of his hand.
He frowned and said, "It's okay. Lilian, I will take you there."
Lilian shook her head in fear. "I'm not going to play, Dad. I'll go study."
With that, she ran away without looking back.
He only felt angry and looked at Carol.
Carol didn't think there was anything wrong with her. Instead, she glanced at him proudly and said, "This is my child. You can't interfere from now on."
He said coldly, "I'm her father."
Carol was stunned. "Father?"
She looked him up and down and said with a very sarcastic expression, "You didn't endure ten levels of pain but only provided genes. How dare you call yourself a father? Have you been pregnant? Have you ever had pregnancy sickness? Did you give birth to her?"
He was speechless.
Carol was arrogant. "Albert, don't forget why we got married. It's just a marriage alliance. The child is mine. If you want children, you can have them with another woman."
He couldn't stand it anymore. "Then let's get a divorce!"
Carol sneered, "It's impossible to get a divorce. I want my marriage to be clean. I won't get a divorce unless you die."
She walked up to him and smiled provocatively, "You can find a stupid woman outside to have a bunch of illegitimate children. I approve of it."
With that, Carol smiled and left.
Albert came back to his senses, suppressed the anger in his eyes, and looked at Laura again with fascination.
What a lovely child.
She should be so happy at this age when she could be spoiled as a little princess.
