Yvonne was stunned.
Others' faces also changed.
Laura started to reason with them. "Rachel picked on me, right? She said she was the strongest, and only the strongest person had the right to be the first to challenge me. But you weren't the first, which means that you are not the strongest."
Yvonne was deeply hurt by her words.
It was a heavy blow to her.
Laura looked at Yvonne seriously and said, "I don't mean anything else. You're actually quite normal if I don't take your intelligence into account."
Yvonne was shocked.
Others were also stunned.
Was this how she complimented others?
Was this even a fucking compliment?
Yvonne gritted her teeth and said, "Listen up. Although we can't do anything to you now, your brother is being beaten up in the room next door. You are safe and sound, but your brother must be black and blue. We have talked about teaching you a lesson. Just you wait!"
Laura was speechless.
It was hard for Everett to be beaten.
It was more likely that they were being hit by Everett.
Yvonne picked up the landline and dialed a number. She cried, "Tiara, come to help us. Laura is beating us. Please help!"
Laura was astonished. "You're lying!"
Yvonne smiled provocatively, and the other girls immediately understood. They lowered their heads and pretended to cry.
Soon, Tiara hurriedly pushed the door open and got in.
She saw a group of girls who had been beaten to tears, and everyone's hair was disheveled. It seemed that they had been in an extremely fierce hair-pulling fight.
She immediately looked at Laura and said, "Get the fuck down! How could you bully them?"
Laura said fearlessly, "I didn't. They wanted to beat me. I defended myself and fought back. They lied! I'm not the one that started all this."
With tears streaming down her face, Yvonne grabbed Tiara's arm with a choked sob. "Ma'am, after she came in, we wanted to be nice and accept her as our friend, but she hit us and we had no choice but to fight back!"
The others cried and nodded. "Yeah. It's all Laura's fault. Please punish her. She almost killed us."
Laura was shocked by their shamelessness.
Sure enough, everyone in this lab liked to shift the blame from themselves to others.
It was a shame that they didn't become actresses.
She looked at Tiara.
Tiara believed those girls and said fiercely, "Laura, the evidence is conclusive. They all said it was your fault. How dare you deny it? Come down and take your punishment!"
Laura's face darkened and she shook her head resolutely. "No! Why should I be punished? I didn't do anything wrong."
Tiara was stunned and then incensed. "You hurt other people, yet you refuse to accept the punishment? Are you listening to yourself?"
"I was defending myself!"
Laura shouted, "They were lying!"
Tiara didn't believe her. "All the kids said you hit them first. How dare you say it was self-defense? Why aren't you hurt?"
Laura looked down at herself and found that she was indeed not injured.
She was confused. "I'm not injured because I'm good at fighting. It's your fault for overlooking strength training. Why don't you reflect on yourself?"
Tiara was dumbstruck.
This little girl was accusing her for overlooking strength training?!
She blushed and said, "We are cultivating people with the most powerful brains, not wild monkeys!"
Laura said, "But their brains aren't powerful at all."
She stood on the bed and looked down at Tiara. "I'm innocent. You haven't even found that. You don't have a powerful brain yourself. How can you cultivate someone with a powerful brain? Aren't you ashamed to say that?"
Tiara was filled with rage.
Joshua and Dexter laughed out loud.
Dexter rolled all over the couch. "The kid is so smart. She left the woman speechless. This is hilarious."
Tiara was speechless indeed.
She didn't intend to punish Laura without an investigation.
But hearing Laura's words, she realized it would be embarrassing for her if she couldn't find out the real culprit.
She looked at the girls.
Someone replied firmly, "Laura hit us first!"
Laura said, "Ma'am, are you sure you can't tell who's the good guy between me and them? You don't think the side with more people and more power is the good guy, do you? You can't be that stupid, can you?"
Tiara blushed and retorted, "You are just a little girl. Who gives you the right to mock me? Get your ass down here!"
A young man's gloomy voice sounded at the door. "There will be consequences for your words. I'm sure you will be fired."
Everyone was stunned.
Laura's heart trembled when she heard this. She poked her head out and shouted, "Everett!"
Everett stood at the door, carrying a fat, injured man in one hand. His face was a little bruised, but his eyes remained sharp and serious.
Tiara's eyes widened as she asked, "How did you get out?"
It was a combination lock on the door. There was no way he could open it.
Everett kicked the fat guy down and said, "I disassembled the combination lock and easily opened the door. Was it hard?"
Tiara was once again astonished.
He disassembled the combination lock?!
Everett snapped his fingers, signaling to Laura to get down.
Laura jumped out of bed and pounced on him. "You weren't beaten?"
Everett hugged her and raised his eyebrows. "You weren't beaten either?"
She said proudly, "Yeah! I was so fast. They couldn't touch me at all."
Everett smiled and said, "I'm also very swift. Those who tried to hurt me were punched several times."
Then he noticed the wound on the back of Laura's hand.
Everett's face darkened suddenly. "You are hurt?"
Only then did Laura see the scratch on her hand.
It was very shallow.
If Everett didn't find it, it might be healed in a few minutes.
She didn't take it seriously and said, "It's not a big deal."
But Everett looked solemn and said to Tiara, "Go get me a band-aid and iodine."
It was a scratch.
It might leave a scar.
Tiara asked, "Are you ordering me?"
Everett was puzzled and tilted his head. "Who else was I ordering? A ghost?"
Tiara was stunned and bellowed, "Do you have any idea where you are now? You don't have a say here. I'm the one in charge!"
But just then, another familiar and cold voice rang out. "You're nothing."
Laura's heart skipped a beat and she looked back.
Zayn was in the hallway with Xander and Jasper.
He looked angry, but his tone was light as he said, "Laura is Carol's granddaughter. Yet you tried to run roughshod over her to assert your authority? It's like you're trying to get yourself fired."
Laura looked at Zayn with her mouth agape in surprise and said, "Zayn..."
Zayn looked at her and raised his chin with an angry smile.
"Are you happy to see me, Laura?"
Others' faces also changed.
Laura started to reason with them. "Rachel picked on me, right? She said she was the strongest, and only the strongest person had the right to be the first to challenge me. But you weren't the first, which means that you are not the strongest."
