Ashlyn raised her eyebrow and was surprised. Then she sat on the ground and cried, "Boo-hoo!"
Laura hadn't calmed down. She hurriedly put the bracelet on the table and scolded, "Why are you crying? I should have cried! Why did you frame me?"
Ashlyn cried without saying anything, but the door was suddenly pushed open by Emma. "Ms. Ashlyn Yale, what's wrong?"
Ashlyn pointed at Laura and cried, "Emma, she bullied me! I was just playing with her, but she tried to break my mother's bracelet!"
Laura was stunned when she heard this.
She was right!
Laura met Emma's sharp eyes and explained fluently, "Not me! She wanted to set me up. She had raised her bracelet and was about to throw it away, but I caught it. If it weren't for me, the bracelet would be broken now!"
Ashlyn shouted, "You lie! The bracelet was given to me by my mom. I treat it like a treasure! You just want to hurt my most precious thing on purpose!"
Emma felt distressed and hugged Ashlyn. Then she questioned Laura, "Why are you so evil at such a young age? Ms. Ashlyn Yale has no mother to accompany her. She values the gifts left by her mom! How dare you hurt her beloved thing on purpose!"
Ashlyn nestled in Emma's arms and smiled at Laura with provocation.
Laura immediately felt indignant and looked around.
There was no surveillance in the room.
Fine. Laura was not gonna be able to prove her innocence.
Laura argued, "I didn't do it. It was she who did it. Although I don't understand why she did it, I am innocent!"
Ashlyn's eyes turned gloomy, and she didn't give Laura a chance to argue. Ashlyn suddenly raised her voice and screamed, "Oh! She denied it! Emma, kick her out! Get out of here!"
Ashlyn struggled in Emma's arms, crying hysterically and trying to kick Laura.
Emma felt sorry for Ashlyn. She grabbed Laura's hand and walked out, saying, "Get out! I thought you were a well-behaved and sensible girl, but I didn't expect that you were such a bastard. How could you hurt Ms. Ashlyn Yale at her home?"
Laura almost fell down. She was anxious and mad. "No! Laura didn't hurt her. She doesn't like me, so she deliberately set me up!"
Emma widened her eyes, not listening to Laura's explanation. "Did she set you up? Ms. Ashlyn Yale has lost her father since she was little. How could she deliberately frame you? Do you know that she has been seeing a psychiatrist? How could such a poor girl frame you?"
Laura was confused and said, "But she did set me up. I can leave, but I didn't do anything wrong!"
Emma didn't care about what Laura said and dragged her out of the attic rudely, saying, "Ms. Ashlyn Yale won't lie anyway. Don't try to deny your mistake! I'll go to Mr. Yale and ask him to find a place for you to stay. In any case, I won't allow children like you to stay with Ms. Ashlyn Yale."
Laura couldn't convince Emma. She opened her mouth, but she didn't know what to say. Then she bowed her head aggrievedly.
Soon, Ashlyn chased after them with her hands behind her back. Her expression had returned to calm. "Emma, I'm hungry now. Can you go and cook me pierogi first?"
Emma frowned and said, "But I have to send her to Mr. Yale first."
Laura twisted her fingers and looked at Ashlyn sadly.
However, as if nothing had happened, Ashlyn said with tears on her face, "Leave her here. I'll take good care of her. I forgive her."
Laura was rendered speechless.
Did Ashlyn say she had forgiven Laura?
Laura had never wanted to hurt Ashlyn at all.
Then Laura picked up her watch warily to record the next conversation.
Emma couldn't bear to refuse Ashlyn, so she was about to make pierogi. She even warned Laura before leaving, "You can't bully Ms. Ashlyn Yale again! I'll be back soon!"
As soon as Emma left, Laura became vigilant and asked, "Why did you frame me? I don't know you, and I haven't even seen you!"
Ashlyn remained composed and said, "I've seen you before. Every time you appear on TV, the elders compare me with you because you are excellent but I am not. So I told myself that if I saw you one day, I would definitely punish you."
Laura was bewildered.
Did Ashlyn want to punish Laura?
Laura wanted to retort but saw Ashlyn pull out a wooden stick from behind. Then Ashlyn was about to hit her directly.
Laura didn't expect this. She turned her head and ran away, shouting, "Why were you even carrying a weapon?"
Ashlyn didn't speak but followed Laura like a ghost.
Laura quickened her pace but tripped over.
At the same time, she felt a heavy blow on the back of her head.
Before Laura could even feel the pain, she rolled her eyes, unable to move on the ground.
With an expressionless look, Ashlyn held the wooden stick and looked at Laura, like a statue in the middle of the night.
Under the moonlight, Laura wriggled on the ground for a moment and suddenly quieted down.
Ashlyn snorted and left with satisfaction.
However, just after Ashlyn entered the attic, Laura struggled to open her eyes and turned on her phone watch with trembling hands.
She was dizzy and felt like she would throw up at any time. After pressing the save button, she struggled to browse through the contacts and tried to dial Zayn's number.
But before Laura could touch the screen, she fainted again.
At the same time, Bert was sitting in Ambrose's study, with Albert present.
Bert said seriously, "Do you want to send Ash abroad? Will her mother agree?"
Ambrose's expression was gloomy as he said, "Even if she doesn't disagree, so what? I want Ash to get psychotherapy abroad. If she stays home, she may cause more trouble."
Ashlyn had shown a very strange character since she could speak.
She exhibited high levels of aggression, apathy, and a lack of shame regarding her mistakes. Following persistent incorrigibility, she was taken to see a psychiatrist and received a diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder.
Bert could understand his father's thoughts and asked curiously, "But why are you in such a hurry?"
Albert pinched the center of his eyebrows and said, "Last time I saw her throw the kitten into the washing machine. If I hadn't found it in time, the kitten would have been killed."
Bert was shocked.
Ambrose was also very upset and said, "I saw her print Laura's photo and burn it on fire that day. I scolded her for that. Ash pretended to repent, but I don't think she has realized her mistake at all."
Albert and Bert were both stunned and raised their voices. "Who? Laura?" they asked in unison.
Ambrose was startled by their reaction and nodded. "Yeah, didn't someone tease Ash that Laura was cuter than her? Ash remembered it and burned a lot of Laura's photos."
Bert suddenly had a bad feeling and his voice trembled as he asked, "Dad, do you think Ash will attack Laura if she sees Laura?"
Ambrose said, "She just threw the kitten into the washing machine yesterday. What do you think?"
Bert's expression changed dramatically and he turned around to leave.
Ambrose and Albert were startled. "I haven't finished speaking yet! Where are you going?"
"Go find Laura!" Bert's eyebrows tightened, and his tone became anxious. "She is on a variety show with me. I am her trainee daddy. She was handed over to Emma after I brought her back. Maybe she has met Ashlyn by now!"
Ambrose was appalled.
Albert's eyes suddenly widened, and he asked, "What did you say?"
