Ashlyn bit her lower lip, and there was no response.
The door was slammed shut.
The aggrieved expression on her face disappeared in an instant, and she rushed to the wardrobe where Laura was!
Ashlyn got scolded, and she blamed Laura for it!
It had been an understanding to Ashlyn that Bert adored Laura very much!
Bert had been endearing to Ashlyn, and now she was determined not to allow Bert to adore anyone else other than herself!
'Never!' she exclaimed inwardly.
Ashlyn picked up the compass on the table, opened the wardrobe door, and raised her voice as she said, "Laura, I'm going to stab your face. Where is she?"
She stopped talking abruptly because there was no one in the wardrobe.
Ashlyn craned her neck and looked inside. "Is she gone?"
Laura was there a moment ago.
Ashlyn put down the compass and extended half of her body into the wardrobe to look further.
Sneakily, Laura picked up the compass on the floor and stood behind Ashlyn with a red face.
Just now, when no one was looking, Laura had crawled out of the wardrobe and secretly covered herself in dye.
This large room allowed no one to see Laura.
She had just looked in the mirror and noticed that the dye looked extremely realistic, particularly like blood.
Anyway, she believed it was like blood!
Unaware that Laura was standing behind her, Ashlyn looked around and muttered, "Where is she? Did Emma take her away?"
Her anxiety increased as she continued to search.
Confused, Laura couldn't help asking, "What will you do if you find her?"
Without hesitation, Ashlyn replied, "I'll stab her in the face with a compass! I'd like to watch her cry! Who allowed her to do that to me?"
Laura became even more confused. "Did she treat you badly?"
Ashlyn said firmly, "Exactly! Uncle Bert and Grandpa Albert have never been harsh to me before, but things have changed because of Laura. That kid is playing martyr in front of them."
Laura asked, "Have you ever considered that you could be the issue? You are a bad person."
Ashlyn paused and turned around aggressively. "What could possibly be wrong with me?"
Ashlyn was shocked and slumped in the wardrobe at the sight of Laura's "bloody" face!
Why...Laura's face was covered in blood!
Did she do that to her?
Ashlyn asked with a shocked expression, "When did you come behind me?"
Laura held up the compass icily in an attempt to look menacing and like a zombie. "You don't know that, do you? After striking a deal with the devil, my soul lifted the seal and returned to exact revenge on you."
Ashlyn was scared in disbelief.
She stared at the blood on Laura's face with fear and crawled to the other side. "Don't lie to me. My mother told me ghosts don't exist! Do you think I will fall for that? You're lying!"
Laura smiled evilly and jumped closer to her. "Stay where you are. You will know if I am lying when I come closer to you."
When Ashlyn saw Laura's gait, she gasped in horror.
She thought, 'Why is she jumping instead of walking?
'Do Ghosts walk like that?'
She grew more scared the more she considered it. Then she had a sudden thought and yelled, "Back off! Back off! Back off!"
Laura's eyes darkened. "What a useless woman! I'm invincible!"
After saying that, she directly pounced on her! "Look at me!"
Ashlyn screamed, "Ahhh!"
"I asked you to take care of that child, did I? How did you act?" Bert anxiously snapped at Emma in the hall, who was leading them around but seemed aimless.
Emma intended to stall them for Ashlyn and smiled apologetically. "Mr. Yale, I asked Laura to sit here just now. I went to cook pierogi and brought it to Ashlyn because she was requesting it. But Laura had left by the time I got back. I sincerely apologize!"
Albert said with a gloomy face, "OK. You may leave now. We'll keep looking. You can go look for her elsewhere."
Emma nodded repeatedly in relief. "Okay, I will get on it right away!"
Bert grew increasingly agitated. "Laura is quite vivacious, although we just met today. She doesn't seem like a misbehaving child. Did something happen to scare her off?"
Albert was suspicious too. "I'm thinking the same. After Emma had been gone for too long, Laura might become afraid and then came looking for us but got lost."
It was common to get lost in their enormous house.
Bert was very anxious. "We don't have surveillance cameras here. How can we find Laura?"
What if the kid was crying in a corner?
Bert let her stay to keep her safe!
Suddenly, Ashlyn's room flashed into his mind.
He recalled that the wardrobe seemed to have a crack in it.
Bert was enlightened and looked at Albert, saying, "Ashlyn might have locked Laura in the wardrobe! There's a crack in her wardrobe!"
Albert was tremendously surprised. "Are you sure?"
Bert nodded forcibly. "I can't be wrong! I was too anxious to notice it. Her wardrobe is usually tightly closed, but today it was slightly ajar with stuck fabric."
Ashlyn didn't know how to put on clothes and relied on Emma to help her with it.
Emma, who was always neat and clean, had to sort all her clothes according to their colors. Therefore, Bert didn't think the clothes would jam the wardrobe door to keep it ajar.
Albert was alarmed. "Maybe Laura is crying in her wardrobe now!"
This thought caused them to dash to the backyard attic.
In the room, Ashlyn cried and crawled on the floor, "Don't come near me! Stay away from me!"
Laura deliberately lowered her voice behind Ashlyn. "Do you know how painful I was? You have no idea how queasy I felt. I am always tough! But you almost beat me to shed tears! Do you know you've gone too far?"
Ashlyn crawled while crying, not daring to look back. "I don't know! You asked for it no matter what happened!"
Laura gasped, picked up the compass, and wanted to smash it at her. "I dare you to say it again!"
With her head in her arms, Ashlyn screamed, unable to walk due to her extreme fear.
She had lost control of her legs!
Laura sat on her butt and stabbed her with a finger imitating a compass. "Look at me!"
She stabbed her in the back forcibly!
Ashlyn began to tremble all over and felt an unbearable pain that spread right away, sobbing. "Ah! It hurts!"
Laura looked down at her own little finger. 'Does it hurt?
'It is her imagination, right?
'But what the hell!'
Laura was aggressive and continued to stab Ashlyn with her finger. "Don't you like bullying me? Don't you want to punish me? Let's see who is stronger here! I'll drag you to hell with me once I've finished punishing you."
