The cameraman ran past Laura at a very high speed.
On the screen, Laura was like a rapid rabbit with a solemn face. Her face twitched as she searched in the huge market.
The market was crowded. Many people came here for the variety show so a lot of them were recording with their phones.
There were more and more people. It was not easy to find Bella and Shawn.
Laura was so anxious that she asked the cameraman for help, "Sir, can you tell Bella and the others there is a human trafficker here? Tell them not to believe any strangers, okay?"
The cameraman focused on the camera without saying anything.
Laura bit her lower lip and asked anxiously, "You can't help me?"
The cameraman shook his head helplessly.
It meant no.
[Come on, please help her. Poor girl! How could the cameraman be so heartless?]
[Yeah! Poor girl!]
[Laura cares about he friends a lot. I like her so much.]
Suddenly, Bella's face appeared again. She had already walked out of the market with the woman.
Bella was not suspicious at all. She looked worriedly at the woman. "Ma'am, is my father seriously injured?"
The woman nodded with a serious look. "Yeah, a little bit. But don't worry. Your father is tough. He didn't even cry when he injured his leg. Do not cry when you see him. Be strong!"
Bella nodded with tears in her eyes. "Okay. But I'm so worried about Dad."
She completely trusted this woman. She didn't doubt what she said at all. Tears rolled in her eyes. But she managed to hold them back so they didn't fall down her face.
Carter looked at her with mixed feelings. He put his hand on his forehead and said, "Should I be happy that my daughter cares about me so much, or should I be worried that she is so gullible?"
The fathers nodded sympathetically. "It's a tricky one. I don't know what to say."
Matt smiled faintly, "We did teach them not to believe strangers. But some children will still be deceived."
Derrick nodded. "Yes. She hasn't experienced any dangerous things. She is innocent. Laura is an exception. She knows how to distinguish bad guys earlier than most kids. Maybe her parents have taught her a lot about this."
Bert thoughtfully stared at the screen and gradually felt proud.
Matthew thought, 'Well, that's my daughter.'
But soon, he frowned.
He thought, 'She is not really my daughter.'
Thinking about this, Bert felt his mood darkening. He had mixed feelings.
It was about time for a lunch break.
When Antonio came out of the office, his assistant walked to him and smiled, "Mr. Smith, have you watched your daughter's show?"
Since she knew Laura's father was Antonio, she wasn't afraid of him anymore.
Antonio frowned, "What?"
He knew Laura joined Robert's variety show again today but he was too busy with work to watch it.
His assistant handed him his phone and said, "Look, now the children are being tested by a human trafficker who wants to kidnap them. Laura is very smart! The human trafficker tried to deceive her but she didn't believe a single word. She even satirized her. All the other children were tricked. Mr. Smith, great family education!"
Antonio took the phone from her in confusion and saw Laura looking around anxiously on the screen.
He fast-backwarded the video a little.
Then he saw the woman who tried to deceive Laura. Laura was arguing with her.
Antonio's eyes lit up, and he resumed the livestream.
Laura was trying to save her friends. She looked very anxious.
Antonio was immersed in the show. Suddenly, the camera was turned to Bert's face.
Antonio frowned, "Who is he? Where is Robert?"
The assistant replied, "The schedule of this show was changed but Mr. Yale has something else to attend to. The production team found a so-called trainee daddy named Bert. He is handsome and thoughtful and makes people feel secure. He is nice to your daughter. Well, Laura is so adorable!"
Antonio was speechless.
He thought, 'A trainee daddy?
'Nice to my daughter?'
His assistant was in a good mood, ready to say something more but suddenly, she found that her boss's face had darkened. She immediately decided to remain silent.
She thought, 'Oh no!
'Did I say anything wrong?'
The assistant was flustered, and she was suddenly reminded of something.
She thought, 'Oh, no. I just started my lunch break but now he knows that I've been watching this variety show a long time ago. Doesn't that mean I've been slacking off?
'Mr. Smith is so shrewd. He must have figured it out.
'Oh, no! Oh, no!
'My salary!'
She was so frightened that she held her breath. She glanced at Antonio from the corner of her eye.
Antonio's eyebrow furrowed. He gritted his teeth and thought, 'Why didn't they ask me, her father?'
'Why did they find this man?
'And this man, if I am right, should be one of Laura's uncles.
'There are too many uncles around her competing to take her father's job.
'Why can't they just have their own kids?'
He threw the phone to his assistant decisively and said, "Will Robert be there in the next episode?"
His assistant wasn't expecting this. She replied in a daze, "I don't know. It depends on the schedule of the movie shooting. It's possible that he won't make it."
Antonio brushed past her. "Tell Brandon if Robert can't make it in the next episode, let me do it. Got it?"
His assistant was shocked.
She thought, 'What?
'Mr. Smith usually looks indifferent to everything. He doesn't even go to his son's parent-teacher conference very often.
'But now he's going to be on TV in a variety show with his daughter. Does he love his daughter that much?'
On the screen, Laura was running around the market like a little warrior.
Evan had repeatedly failed to outsmart Laura. He didn't know what kind of expression he should have so he just smiled in embarrassment, "This child is not bad."
But in fact, what he was really thinking about was: This bastard is so clever. She makes me humiliated so many times. Is she deliberately doing this to me?
He frowned impatiently.
Bert noticed his subtle change of expression and teased him. "I have a question for you. Do you want Laura to find Bella or not?"
Evan suddenly came to his senses and smiled brightly, "Colonel Yale, what are you talking about? No matter what happened between me and Laura, she was my trainee daughter. Of course, I want her to find Bella so that the kids will not be in trouble."
His smile soon became cold after saying that.
Bert snorted sarcastically.
Bert thought, 'Don't worry. Although I didn't talk much with Laura, I know this child will make it.
'And she will make this guy grit his teeth with anger.
'Because Laura is much smarter than Evan.'
On the screen, Laura was like a rapid rabbit with a solemn face. Her face twitched as she searched in the huge market.
