Suddenly, a chaotic noise came from the hallway. Someone exclaimed, "Everett! Everett! Don't you dare go there!"
Clifford's face suddenly turned pale as he muttered, "Everett? Everett is coming?" He looked around as if he dared not be seen and suddenly dove under the table.
Just at that moment, the door was kicked open. Someone shouted, "Who the hell dared to look at Laura's underwear?"
Laura was startled and turned around towards the source of the voice.
Dressed in a Taekwondo outfit, with a black belt tied around his waist and his short hair tousled, Everett strode in menacingly, asking, "Who?"
Caught off guard, Laura gasped, "Everett?"
Everett walked straight up to her, his expression fierce. "Who did this? How much did he see?"
She shook her head, showing her pants, "I'm wearing pants under my skirt, not underwear, and before he could lift my skirt, Zayn kicked him away!"
Everett grew even angrier, "Those pants won't do either. They're so ugly. Aren't they a disgrace to the Smith family!"
Laura was puzzled. "Huh?"
So were others.
Everett's sharp gaze swept over the kids, "Who looked at my sister's ugly pants. Stand out!"
The girls looked terrified, and the boys appeared uneasy, their eyes dropping to the person hiding under the table.
Clifford, crouched under the table, clasped his hands in a silent plea, mouthing, "Don't tell him. Don't tell!"
The boys understood his gesture and then looked back at Everett.
Everett, with one hand on his hip, his presence overwhelming, said, "Hurry up, don't make me drag you out one by one."
The students inhaled sharply and collectively stepped back, their gaze falling to the table. It was as if they were silently proclaiming, "Look there! It has nothing to do with us!"
Clifford was more than angry. He swore inwardly, 'What a bunch of traitors!'
Everett bent down, and found himself eye-to-eye with Clifford who was still pleading.
Clifford's irritation hadn't faded, and he awkwardly smiled, "Hahaha... Everett! What a coincidence, Everett!"
Everett, leaning on the table, looked at him expressionlessly.
Clifford's smile turned to a grimace. "Everett, please..."
Everett, annoyed, asked, "Did you see my sister's ugly pants?"
Clifford's head shook like a bobblehead. "No, no! I absolutely did not see those ugly pants!"
Everett then smacked him on the head. "You're following my lead by calling them ugly, huh? Dare say my sister's pants are ugly again and see what happens!"
Clifford, clutching his head, wailed, "Sorry, Everett, my mistake! I really messed up!"
Unmoved, Everett grabbed his ear and yanked him out from under the table.
Clifford howled, "Ah, it hurts, Everett, let me go. I was wrong!"
Laura was stunned when she saw Clifford being brought to her.
Everett patted Clifford's face. "Clifford, you should know by now that I don't take kindly to anyone messing with the Smith family. After all these years, how can you still not get it? Huh?"
Clifford, on the verge of tears and keeping his head low, pleaded, "Laura's last name is Yale, and you're a Smith. I completely forgot she's your sister! Besides, I was actually aiming to tease Zayn, not Laura."
Hearing this, Zayn just smirked coldly.
Everett then kicked Clifford's rear. "You think just because it's Zayn I'd let you off? I've got Zayn's back as well, you know that?!"
Zayn was bewildered by his words. "Huh?"
Clifford couldn't hold back his tears. "I'm sorry. I know my mistake, Everett! Please, forgive me!"
A chilling male voice intervened, "No."
Everyone was stunned as they turned to the source.
Xander, in a suit, stood next to Jasper, their eyes cold as winter, chilling to the bone.
Laura stared at them in disbelief, then at Zayn and Everett. She told herself, 'They seem even taller than a few days ago. But why am I still so short? That's unfair!'
The girls couldn't help but scream, huddling together, "Oh my gosh! All the heartthrobs around Laura are here! Our tutorial class's crushes all showed up! We're so lucky!"
"Ah, having Zayn as our classmate was already a blessing! But just today alone, seeing all these future heartthrobs from Skyline Academy rumored to be so popular makes me thrilled!"
"Ah! I so wish I could be their classmate!"
"The rumors of Laura living the cherished female lead life are true! She's so lucky!"
"Really envious of her life!"
Laura, puzzled, scratched her head. She wondered, 'Why envy my life? The happiest things in my life are having plenty of pocket money and a mom who loves me a lot.'
As she pondered, Jasper quickly stepped up to her, inspecting her thoroughly, "Are you okay, any injuries, feeling unwell?"
Laura shook her head, slightly annoyed. "No, Jasper, you ask this every day. If I was hurt, I'd tell you."
Jasper frowned, saying, "What's the use of telling me after you get hurt? Let me check!"
Laura bit her lip, hiding her impatience.
But other girls looked on enviously, "Wow, that's what a real brother looks like. My brother just laughs when I'm hurt. He just bullies me."
"Exactly, my brother too, and my younger brother as well. There's no man in our family who dotes on me!"
"Really envious of Laura having such a life!"
Laura glanced at them, sighing in distress. She wanted to tell them that there was nothing to envy.
Among her brothers, Jasper was the clingiest.
Just like a mother hen, always clinging to her after variety shows to video share their daily life, asking about everything more than even Zayn.
He even checked what she would eat the next day, reminding her to keep it nutritionally balanced.
He had said that since mom was busy with work, he had to take care of her growing-up stages.
However, she knew that since Antonio and Winnie were busy, no one took care of her brothers, and they basically grew up taking care of each other.
But she still preferred his initial rebellious nature.
After his check-up, Jasper glanced coldly at Clifford, "Clifford, did you stick anything on my sister? If I find a pinprick on her, you're dead!"
Clifford's eyes widened in horror, "Why would I do that? I'm not a pervert!"
Jasper retorted, "You lift girls' skirts and you're not a pervert?! Then what is?"
Clifford, at a loss for words, turned to Zayn for help, "Zayn, I'm your cousin. Speak up for me. We're both Grahams."
Zayn nodded. "Okay, cousin."
Then he looked at Everett, rolling up his sleeves, "Let's do this. Beat him up."
Clifford was dumbfounded.
