Alexa fluttered her eyes, looking up at him dizzily and breathily whispered, "May you what?"
He chuckled, leaning in closer and gently pressed his lips against hers. The kiss was soft, almost a whisper against her lips and she swore she melted against his arms. His lips slowly caressed hers, leaving her wanting so much more. Xander pulled away gently, looking at her dazed eyes and she tangled her fingers in his dark hair.
"If you're going to kiss me," she whispered, leaning in closer, "at least show that you want it."
His eyes widened as she pressed her lips against his, kissing him as if her life depended on it. His arms slowly encircled her waist and he pulled her closer, until their bodies were almost moulding into one.
Alexa closed her eyes, tilting her head as Xander lowered his right hand from her cheek, placing it on the nape of her neck and pulled her even closer. Even then, she wasn't close enough.
The small hairs on the nape of her neck stood on attention; causing goose bumps to raise all over her skin and she shuddered. Shocks of electricity shot through their lips and her entire body quivered in desire.
Xander slowly bit her bottom lip into his mouth, eliciting a groan from deep within her throat and she breathed in sharply, digging her fingers on his taut shoulders. She willingly melted in his arms, offering him whatever he wanted to take and wished with all her might that they wouldn't regret it later on.
He pulled away, noticing that she was in a desperate need to regain her breath and dropped his hands from her waist.
Alexa flushed, biting her red bottom lip and stumbled away from him. She held her hand to her lips, tracing them gently as she stood in front of the easel and tried to untangle her thoughts. Her hands trembled as she grabbed the camera from the stand and she tripped, yanking the easel down with her.
Xander quickly stood up, trying to help her up, but she held her hand up and shook her head. He raised an eyebrow, not knowing what to do as he stood awkwardly with his hand extended out for her and watched as she got up and quietly walked to the bathroom.
Her feelings were swirling all around her stomach and brain. She wanted to laugh and throw her hands up in the air for finally having a kiss that made her feel happy. For years she had shared kisses with Seth and they couldn't compare to the small, but heated kiss she just shared with Xander.
"Stop comparing them," she hissed to herself as she yanked her shirt over her head and tied her hair up in a bun. Suddenly, she sat down on the toilet seat and began to cry hysterically. It was a mixture of nervous laughter and pathetic crying.
She didn't know where the crying or the laughter came from, but she couldn't seem to stop it. Tears slid down her cheeks as she giggled and she stood up, shaking her head at her stupidity. "It was one stupid kiss," she muttered to herself, yanking her bra off and kicked her shorts off. "He wasn't asking me to marry him! Get it together, girl!"
After she opened the showerhead, she stayed inside the shower for a considerable amount of time. The hot water was relaxing her body and she was doing her best thinking. The bathtub seemed to have that effect on her. Obviously she wasn't in the shower when she agreed to be Seth's fiancée.
"Ugh!" She smacked her hand against the wall, "Stop thinking about that jerk, Alexa!"
The kiss wasn't what bothered her. No, it was the fact that she liked the kiss. It confused her. It had only been three months that she knew him and she was having the craziest cravings for him.
They weren't just sexual cravings; she actually wanted to spend time with him. She wanted to hear him talk in his strange version of English and laugh whenever he got confused at her modern slang.
She was becoming attached to Xander and she didn't want to be. There wasn't a reason for her to feel that way; it just frightened her. There were a lot of things that she didn't know about him and vice versa. She didn't want to make herself vulnerable again; Seth had broken her heart.
He had done it slowly and meticulously, making it harder for her to realise what he was doing. Their relationship was slowly deteriorating and she refused to acknowledge it until it was too late. She had tried everything possible to rekindle the passion in their failed relationship, but it wasn't enough.
The sex toys and the expensive clothing she bought to attract him had been a waste of time and money. She didn't know if it was something wrong with her for trying to stay with him when part of her knew it was going nowhere or if it was his fault for not putting in as much effort.
It was his fault. But it was hers as well.
Alexa sighed, closing the faucet when the water became temperate and blindly grabbed the towel hanging from the rack. She dried her face and patted the towel up and down her body until she was completely dried. She took a deep breath, knowing that Xander must've been confused at her behaviour and tried to come up with a million reasonable explanations.
She had none.
Xander sat on the edge of her bed, his rigid back facing her and she bit her bottom lip, tightening her hold on the towel wrapped around her body. She slowly walked towards her drawers and grabbed a long white T-shirt to wear.
After she walked into the bathroom to put it on, she brushed her hair until it was smooth and widened her eyes as Xander stood under the threshold of the bathroom. She looked at him through the mirror and he stepped up to her tentatively.
"Did I do something wrong?"
Alexa widened her eyes and frowned. "What? Y-you think that me leaving and acting like an idiot was because of you?"
He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest and said, "Well?"
She sighed, shaking her head and placed her brush down on the sink. "Xander my freak-out had nothing to do with you. Well actually it kind of did. It's just," she took a deep breath, tucking back her long blonde hair, "that was unexpected."
"The kiss?"
"Yes," she whispered, turning around to look at him, "don't get me wrong it was amazing and I just...I'm going to shut up now," she blushed.
Xander chuckled, his eyes glinting at her flustered expression and he said, "If the kiss was 'amazing,' why were you crying?"
"I," she frowned, "I honestly don't know. I just...I guess that I wasn't really over Seth."
"Oh," his face dropped.
"But," she quickly added, her heart skipping a beat at the hurt that flashed across his eyes, "I just. Okay, I'm over him, alright? He's gone and kicked out of the picture. But it just hit me today that I'm never going to see that son of a bitch again," her cheeks turned a darker shade of red, "excuse my French," she muttered.
He frowned. "Vous parlez français?"
"What?" She blurted out.
"I thought you said you spoke French..." he trailed off.
"What?" She chuckled, "No! It's an expression, like...never mind. Just, I'm sorry for cursing. Anyway, like I was saying. The day that Seth and I ended our stupid engagement I kind of cried, but it wasn't sentimental. I can't really explain it. I just...I cried because I was angry. But today I realised that he's gone and I don't miss him and it took me by surprise."
He nodded, but stayed quiet, simply listening to her confusing rant.
"And then that kiss," she breathed out, the butterflies returning, "it confused me. I don't hate you, I mean there's no reason for me to hate you, but I don't exactly go around kissing random guys."
"I am not a random guy," he deadpanned.
Alexa laughed at his bluntness and shook her head, "No, Xander, you're not a random guy. You're the Alien that's going to use my uterus as a machine for babies."
He frowned, placing his hands on her shoulders and cajoled, "Alexa,"
But she shook her head and smiled. "It's okay, I get it. I'm a baby making machine; it's no different than what guys back home would treat me like."
"You are not a baby-making machine," he spoke softly, walking closer to her until his chest was inches from her face, "you are a strange human that has grown on me. I wish I could say that that is not the only reason why you are here, but I would be lying. Unlike those men from your planet, I will cherish what you have done for me and my people. I will not leave your side during this process; it takes two to bring a life into this world and it does not matter to me if you choose the sperm insemination. That child will be mine and you and him will be my responsibility."
"Her," she blurted out.
He frowned. "Pardon?"
Her cheeks turned a dark red and she mumbled, "I want a girl."
Xander laughed, shaking his head in incredulity and said, "I meant "him" in general. It does not matter to me what gender we have first. I am simply saying that I will take care of both of you and be present when you need my aid."
"Seth didn't want kids," she muttered, not meeting his eyes for the shame she felt.
He sighed loudly, gently taking her chin in his hands and said, "I will never understand your people. You are very complicated beings, but I am intrigued."
"Intrigued?" She laughed, raising an eyebrow. "How?"
He shrugged, still looking deep into her eyes and said, "I do not know how to explain it. I guess a good example would be that thing you do with your face when you are concentrating."
She frowned, touching the side of her cheek. "What thing?"
"You crease your eyebrows," he lightly rubbed his thumb against the middle of her eyebrows, "right here. It forms lines on your forehead and you also pout your lips. It is very adorable, might I add."
"That's intriguing?" She snorted, rolling her eyes.
Xander smiled, nodding and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. "You also fiddle with your fingers when you are nervous. It is strange to me. It makes me feel like one of your people at times."
Alexa grinned brightly. "I make you feel human?"
"More or less," he shrugged one arm, "for example, when you were showering, I was trying to relax my shoulders. It is very difficult," he sighed, "but I was trying because I know it bothers you."
Her breath got caught in her throat and she spluttered out a cough. "Can we get out of the bathroom?" Being so close to you is making me stupid. She walked out behind him, waving her hand near her face and breathed in deeply.
"As for the kiss," he began, "if you did not like it, I will not do it again-"
"No!" She shook her head quickly, "I mean...no. Just...I didn't mind that."
He grinned, dimples growing on the sides of his cheeks and he said, "I was hoping that your words were not uttered in vain."
"What?" She raised an eyebrow, sitting down on her bed and pulled the covers over her to cover her legs from his view.
"I followed your command. You said that if I was going to kiss you, to kiss you like I wanted you; I hope I showed that I wanted you enough."
Oh. Her stomach dropped to her feet and most likely reached the tip of her toes, before returning back to the middle of her body. "Y-yeah," she stuttered, "you did."
His smile widened, but he kept quiet. He grabbed the camera from the floor and placed it on the dresser. After placing the easel with Corah's painting on a corner where it wouldn't be on the way, he stood in the middle of the room, looking completely misplaced.
Alexa looked at the clock on the night table and slowly got out of the bed. Xander raised his eyebrows at her as she locked her arms with his and pulled him out of her room.
"What are you doing?"
"We," she emphasised, "are going to watch a movie."
He groaned. "I do not like the shows they feature here. They are strange and the actors show too much skin for my liking."
She rolled her eyes, pushing him down on the couch and grabbed the remote control from the table in front of them. Taking a deep breath as she bit her bottom lip, she sat next to him, hoping he'd get the hint and wrap her arm around her. She was in a desperate need of cuddling.
"We're not going to watch those stupid shows from now; we're going to watch one of my favourite old shows."
He smiled at her, turning his head slightly to the right to look at her and said, "What is the name?"
"Shhh," she shushed him, grabbing a pillow and holding it against her stomach as she searched for one of the few channels that were worthy of watching. "It's called I Dream of Jeannie."
"What is it about?"
She let out a quiet squeal of victory once she found the marathon of I Dream of Jeannie and said, "It's about this astronaut that lives in Florida, right? He like gets sent to a mission and lands in a deserted island. He finds a lamp and a beautiful girl comes out after he rubs it. So basically the girl is a genie and she falls in love with him. The show follows the two as he returns to NASA and she gets him in trouble and – let's just watch it."
He chuckled, nodding and extended his arm over the back of the couch. "Very well, let us watch it."
Two minutes into the show and Xander let out a snicker.
"What?" Alexa turned her head to look at him.
"She is showing her stomach."
"Oh my gosh," she laughed, smacking his arm playfully, "stop being such a prude! She's actually covering her stomach; that's just a transparent type of silk. And besides," she muttered, "I didn't hear you complaining the other day at the beach when I was in my bathing suit."
He shook his head, trying to hide a grin and said, "That is not my problem, Alexa. I do not care if she is naked; my problem is that your people focus too much on sexual objects."
"Yeah, yeah," she waved her hand in the air, "I heard this speech already, babe. Not everyone focuses so much on sex; the show is actually pretty good and funny. So stop being a prude and watch it with me."
"Fine," he muttered, looking back at the screen as Jeannie crossed her arms out in front of her and performed her infamous blink. The corners of his lips turned upward in a smile as Alexa slowly leaned against him until most of her body weight was pressed against his side.
He slowly wrapped his arm around her shoulders, making her snuggle the side of her cheek against his chest and she felt herself growing sleepy. The warmth radiating off him was perfect; he could be her blanket.
At the thought, her cheeks grew bright red, but he was too focused on trying to understand the show to notice.
"Xander?" Her voice came out slurred with sleep.
He looked down at her. "Yes?"
"You know," she whispered, "you don't have to ask me permission to kiss me. It was really cute, but I also like surprise kisses."
Xander chuckled, nodding and said, "I will keep that in mind."
"Good," she snuggled closer against his side until the TV became a faint blur in the background and low volume became a buzz. Sleeping against Xander was better than sleeping on the heavenly bed he had given her; and he hadn't even touched her.

The rays of sunlight slowly brightened up the room, making Alexa turn the other way to avoid the light from hitting her eyes. Nonetheless, her senses were slowly awakening and she couldn't seem to drift off again.
She groaned, hiding her face into the pillows and huffed out in annoyance. She forgot to close the curtains over the windows the previous night. At the memory of the night before, she quickly pulled away from the pillow and looked at her surroundings.
A slow sigh of relief escaped her lips at the realisation that she was in her room – alone. Her heart skipped a beat as she thought of the prurient kiss they shared and she felt her cheeks blushing. The previous day had been full of emotions. First, she cried in realisation that she no longer would be attached to an idiot and then, she laughed like a giddy schoolgirl who had gotten her first kiss.
Alexa rolled her eyes, getting out of her bed and brushed her teeth before going into the kitchen. The house seemed so quiet and generic that it bothered her. She was used to the TV being on or loud music from the neighbours.
She sighed, walking towards the fridge and looked inside for a couple of minutes before letting out a groan of frustration. She didn't know what she could make for breakfast. Just as she was going to search in the cabinets for something to make, Xander walked out, dressed in his uniform.
"Good morning," he smiled, his blue eyes glistening with happiness.
"Hey," she mumbled, frowning, "I don't know what to make for breakfast."
He grimaced, not liking the disappointment she would feel when he would tell her the news. "I will not be here for a long time. I was just grabbing my bag to leave."
"Oh," she muttered and grabbed an apple from the bottom drawers in the refrigerator.
"I am sorry I cannot be here for breakfast," he frowned, displeasure clear in his face, "I was called in for an urgent meeting."
Alexa smiled, washing the green apple and said, "It's fine, Xander; is everything okay?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I will tell you more when I get back. Is that alright?"
She nodded, biting into her apple and wiped the juices that quickly slid down the corners of her mouth. She blushed, smiling up at a chuckling Xander and he walked up to her.
His fingers took her chin in his hand gently and he pressed a quick, but soft kiss to her lips. "I know it is not okay. You and your fiancé had this issue, but I promise you, as soon as I get back we can do whatever you please. Deal?"
Her heart fluttered in her chest and she whispered, "Deal."
Xander's face brightened as he smiled and he bent down to grab his black bag from the floor. He stood straight, looking down at Alexa and she walked up to him, placing the apple on the counter and pressed her lips against his.
He widened his eyes in surprise at the realisation that she initiated the kiss – and she was deepening it more than the previous night. Desire poured in between the slight interstice of their lips and she felt alight wherever he touched her. It was exhilarating.
She tasted sweetly like the juices of the apple, making the kiss even better than it already was. He was becoming addicted to her irresistible taste.
He tightened his hold around her waist, breathing against her mouth as he kissed her deeply. Millions of zoo animals rioted inside her stomach as he placed his hand on the small space on her lower back and held her on the spot.
His lips seemed to tease her, they moved against hers expertly, making breathy moans erupt from the back of her throat. Xander swiped his tongue quickly over her bottom lip and her knees buckled at the heating sensation pooling in her stomach.
Alexa stood on her tiptoes, pressing her body closer to his until she could feel every fine line of his abdominals and wrapped her fingers into his dark mane. If kisses were heaven; Xander had gifted her with a mixture of hell and heaven. Hell for teasing her so much and heaven for the angels she swore were singing in the background.
"Do that again?" She mumbled against his lips dizzily.
He chuckled, glancing down at her swollen, red lips and whispered, "Do what again?"
She grabbed him again, biting his bottom lip into her mouth so that he would open it and slide his tongue over her lips. The sensation was euphoric, she wasn't much for tongue-kissing, but Xander made it feel like it was the most amazing feeling in the world.
He kissed her like a damn professional and left her shivering and gasping for more. It was unbelievable.
He dominated her mouth in a gentle, but passionate way. It was almost too ineffable. The lust that poured from the kiss would suffocate her until she was desperately gasping for air. It was a bittersweet feeling.
She loved being left breathless by his lips, but she needed air. The kiss would eventually and sadly have to end. Alexa slowly stepped away from him, no longer wanting to feel the fire in her lungs from the lack of air and smiled up at him.
"What was that for?" He asked after she recovered her breath.
"What you gave me before that was not a proper good bye kiss," she shrugged, pressing her lips into a line as she tried to suppress her laughter.
Xander nodded, chuckling and muttered, "I will keep that in mind from now on."
