After breakfast, Henry Smith drops Ella Smith at her school before going to the company. According to his age, he should be in college, but her brother was intelligent from the start—he graduated at the age of twenty-one last year and started working at Smith Groups.
Alex Walker also graduated at the age of twenty and is now doing his master’s, but he doesn’t need to attend college daily because of the special benefits given to straight-A students by Capital University.
As Ella was still thinking about all this, she reached her class and placed her bag on her seat. She hadn’t paid much attention to her studies in the past, but now she knew if she wanted to make her plan successful, she had to progress.
“Ohh, look who finally came to school,”
“Right, someone’s going to follow men like a tail again, hmm.”
Freya and Riha started mocking Ella Smith. They were Lisa Brown’s sidekicks, mainly because they had mocked her in the past and she had retorted in very aggressive ways—sometimes she was at a disadvantage, and many times she wasn’t.
“Freya, Riha, don’t say things like that. Ella, don’t take their words to heart—they’re just straightforward and don’t think before speaking.”
Like always, Lisa Brown acted like a great person on the surface, but she was only portraying Ella with a bad reputation.
“So you mean to say I follow men like their tail, right?” Ella said mockingly while looking at Lisa.
“No, no, Ella, you’re getting me wrong. That’s not what I meant! Why are you taking it the wrong way? If you misunderstood me, then I’m sorry for that.”
Looking at the hypocritical face of Lisa, Ella sneered inwardly. She didn’t know why, in her past life, she had never understood Lisa’s nature—how could she have been so stupid? But before she could say anything else, more of Lisa’s supporters stood against her.
“Lisa, why are you saying sorry to her? It’s her who should say sorry. You’re only being nice, but she’s taking your kindness for granted.”
“Right, Ella, you should be grateful, but instead, you’re accusing the only girl who’s willing to talk to you.”
“Hmm, ungrateful.”
As everyone kept accusing Ella, no one noticed Lisa’s slightly curving lips—except Ella.
Ella smiled inwardly. If she wanted to, she could solve this matter in one minute and even force Lisa Brown out of the school, because Lisa’s admission was only because of her mother. But that would be too easy. She wanted Lisa to stay in this school and face the humiliation that Ella had gone through in her past life.
“Bang!” A loud sound came from the seat behind Ella as the accusations went on.
“If you’re all so interested in accusing others, go out of the class. Don’t make noise here.”
Everyone turned to look at Zhai Jing, and Ella knew this person—he was Alex Walker’s cousin. She had met him in her last life.
As she was still thinking, the teacher entered the class. Everyone went back to their seats and focused on their studies. But Lisa Brown wasn’t satisfied. She took out her phone and sent a message to Jackson Bell.
When their classes ended and it was time for the lunch break, Ella packed up her things. But before she could go to the cafeteria, she was stopped by Jackson Bell at the classroom door. He was a new headache for her. In her past life, he hadn’t done much to her, so she thought she’d go easy on him. But now it looked like he was eager to destroy himself, so she wouldn’t go easy anymore.
“Ella, you’re finally here. You don’t know how much I missed you,” he said.
Ella walked past him while he was still talking. Seeing this version of Ella who didn’t care about him, Jackson felt a wave of anger inside. In the past, she had been like an obedient dog who would follow his orders like a slave.
“Ella, wait! I’m still talking to you. Why are you behaving like this? I know it’s my fault. I should’ve come to you earlier, but I was stopped at your house gate. I’m not angry at you, so why are you angry?”
Jackson stood in front of her, quickly finishing his words, afraid she would ignore him again.
“And why should I listen to you? Who are you?” Ella asked, clearly annoyed. Jackson really had the nerve to block her path.
“Because I’m your boyfriend,” Jackson blurted out.
“When did I propose to you? Or did you propose to me?” Ella asked irritably. She knew the whole class was watching now. This was clearly planned—Jackson and his partner Lisa were behind it.
Jackson was speechless. It was true—they had never officially proposed to each other. They were just together because of Lisa’s manipulations.
“Ella, you don’t have to talk to Brother Jackson like this. We all know you two are in a relationship, so please don’t hurt his feelings.”
And as Ella expected, the white lotus came again, trying to look like a bigger person.
