Alex Walker said with a convincing but determined tone, "Aunt, compared to us, you need more rest. You're worried and have been working since yesterday noon non-stop. You should get some rest."
Looking at the two people who were arguing non-stop, Ella said with a helpless expression, "You both should go home and take some rest. I am fine by myself here, and doctors and nurses are also here, so—"
Without waiting for her to complete her sentence, Alex Walker and Clara Jones both said in unison, "No."
Alex Walker said directly, "You are injured and you can't live alone."
Clara Jones nodded and agreed with him, "Alex Walker is right. You are very weak and need someone to take care of you."
Looking at both their determined attitudes, Ella knew she couldn't win this argument, so she nodded her head in agreement. But suddenly, she looked at Alex Walker and said, "Then Brother Alex will stay with me. Mom, you should go home and get some rest."
Clara Jones looked at her daughter with a heartbroken expression and pretended to be hurt. "Now you don't want your mom? You only have eyes for Alex? Okay, Alex, take care of Ella." She knew both needed some time alone with each other.
After coming out of the ward, Clara Jones looked at her son, who was stubbornly and worriedly waiting outside. "She is fine now, let's go home. You have a very important meeting tomorrow, you should also get some rest."
"But Mom, Alex Walker is still inside, and we can't let Ella stay alone in the hospital. You go, I will stay here," Henry Smith said with a frown.
Clara Jones knew trouble was coming. "You don't have to worry. Alex will stay with her. You come home with me."
"NO," Henry Smith said strongly. "She can't stay alone with him."
"What are you thinking? Your sister is only sixteen, and have some faith in your friend. We've known Alex Walker for years. Don't you know he is a responsible kid like you? And they both need some time to talk alone."
"Now come with me." With that, Clara Jones dragged Henry Smith to the car. In the car, fuming with anger, Henry Smith sent a warning message to Alex Walker: "Maintain your distance from my sister." He didn't say "take care of her" because he knew Ella was as important to him as life.
In the ward, looking at the troubled face of Ella and trying to break the awkward silence between them, Alex Walker asked, "Do you need something?"
After hearing this, Ella's face turned red. Lowering her head, she said in a small voice, "I need to go to the washroom... can you call the nurse?"
Looking at Ella's red face, Alex Walker found it very adorable and got lost in the beautiful sight. After not getting an answer for some time, Ella raised her head and called, "Brother?"
After hearing Ella, Alex Walker came to his senses and said in a gentle tone, "Wait here, I’ll go and call a nurse." After that, he walked out of the ward, but there was no female nurse present at the moment—and he wouldn't let any male nurse get close to Ella.
When he returned to the ward, Ella asked, "Brother, where is the nurse?"
With a low cough, Alex Walker answered, "There is no nurse present at the moment... let me help you."
Hearing this, Ella's face, which had just returned to its normal state, turned red again. In a breaking voice, Ella managed to say, "No, brother, I can ma-manage..."
Alex Walker looked at her again, found it adorable, and said in a low and seductive voice, "With your broken hands and injured legs?"
Without waiting for Ella’s answer, he picked her up in bridal style and walked toward the hospital's luxury bathroom. He placed her on the bathroom shelf.
When his hand reached toward Ella’s trousers, dumbfounded, Ella came back to her senses and hurriedly stopped him. "No—no, brother, I—"
"Shut up," Alex Walker said, controlling himself, and seriously just focused on Ella’s trousers. He carefully helped her take them off below her knees, lowered her underwear, and helped her sit on the toilet seat.
"When you're done, call me. I’ll be waiting outside the door." With that, he walked out of the bathroom. Only he knew how much he had to control himself—when the girl he loved the most was present in front of him in such a situation, and he couldn’t touch her. It was the most treacherous thing. But he knew he had to control himself because his little girl was only sixteen and had just opened her heart to him.
Inside the bathroom, Ella’s face was as red as blood. She still couldn’t recover from what just happened. Her whole body felt hot. She felt very embarrassed. She placed her hand on her heart, which was beating wildly. Still immersed in her thoughts, thinking about what just happened, Alex Walker knocked on the bathroom door.
Ella Smith woke from her daze and answered hurriedly, "Two—two minutes!"
After five minutes, he still didn’t get any reply from Ella. Alex Walker opened the door, walked into the bathroom, and found the girl—badly injured—trying to stand on her feet while her hands were struggling to pull up her clothes.
