"Oh right, I almost forgot. Brother Alex, I need your help,” Ella said, placing a hand on her forehead.
“Sure, but first answer my question, Ella,” Alex said to Ella, who hadn’t answered his question yet.
“Brother, I went there to hire a bodyguard for my mother and brother’s security,” Ella answered seriously. She didn’t want to hide this from Brother Alex.
“But Ya Ya, you can ask me. I’ve already given you my most powerful bodyguards,” Alex said, a bit resentful in his voice.
“Of course, Brother Alex. I still have many things I want to ask you about. Like the bodyguard I hired for my brother’s security—he has a little sister who’s hospitalized now. I promised to give her the most advanced treatment, so I need your help with that,” Ella said hurriedly, looking at Alex’s aggressive expression.
Hearing Ella’s words, Alex’s expression softened a little. “Sure, you don’t have to worry. I’ll handle this matter.”
“Thank you, Brother,” Ella said while kissing Alex’s cheek. Receiving Ella’s kiss, Alex rubbed her head adorably.
“Let’s go, dinner is ready. After dinner, I have to send you to the Smith villa as well,” Alex said, taking Ella inside the villa.
On the other side, in an apartment, Aria was consoling her mom that she was alright now.
“That family—how can they do this? When they came to acknowledge you, they just pretended to be loving parents. How can they do this?”
“They’re actually very clever. They already have an adopted daughter, but they came to acknowledge you so their adopted daughter won’t have to marry that scumbag. It’s too much. What do those people think? My Morang family daughter is a pushover?”
Olivia frowned. Aria was very angry when she learned the An family only wanted Jue Jue for their own motives—the daughter they had raised carefully for many years, they wanted to use her as their adopted daughter. She couldn’t understand how parents like that could exist in the world, who would sacrifice their biological daughter for an adopted one.
“Mom, you don’t have to be angry at useless people. They’re not important enough for you to risk your health because of them, okay?” Aria tried to soothe her mother.
Seeing Aria’s worried face, Olivia took a deep breath to control her anger. “Okay, Jue Jue, Mom won’t be angry anymore, but you can’t go back to that house. You will live with me from now on. You don’t need parents like them anymore, okay?” Olivia said while holding Aria’s hand.
“Okay, Mom. But now you have to answer my question. Why is there such an expensive car? And what about this apartment? Any apartment here costs no less than fifty to sixty million, and we have one with a swimming pool. Apartments like this cost even more—sky-high prices. Mom, tell me the truth about what’s going on with all this.”
Aria looked worried as she stared at the luxurious car and then at the apartment. Wrong thoughts were flooding her mind, and above all, she worried about her mother’s safety.
“Relax, Jue Jue, it all belongs to Mom. There’s nothing illegal, okay? Now tell me, what work does your mom do?” Olivia asked with a smile in her eyes.
“Mom, of course, I know you’re an architect,” Aria answered, looking at her mom confusedly.
“Good. Now tell me, who is the second most world-famous architect?” Olivia asked again.
“Of course, it’s Ms. Nancy,” Aria answered again. This time her mom couldn’t say anything. She jumped in excitement and hugged her daughter, congratulating her.
“Congratulations, Mom! You’re working under Ms. Nancy? Wow!”
Olivia looked at her daughter’s excitement and rubbed her head speechlessly. Her daughter always jumped to conclusions without knowing the whole situation. Olivia got up from the sofa and took her laptop from the study while Aria brought ice cream from the fridge.
“Come here and tell me, what is this?” Olivia said, opening her laptop.
Aria walked over after putting the ice cream on the table, thinking her mom needed help with something. But when she looked at her mom’s laptop, her eyes widened in shock.
She looked at her mom with big eyes, and the next second she shouted at the top of her lungs, “Ahh! Mom, you’re Ms. Nancy! Mom, you’re Ms. Nancy!”
Aria jumped up, shouting. It really felt like a dream—the country’s top architect was her mom.
“Okay, okay, now relax. Don’t jump so much, or you’ll hit the roof,” Olivia said amused.
“Now you’ve seen that your mom is powerful, which means you don’t have to be afraid anymore. Your mom will protect you. No one can hurt you—not even your biological parents, okay?
Your mom can compete with the An family in money and power. You don’t have to worry because your mom knows people even more powerful than the An family, okay?”
The main reason Olivia was exposing her identity and telling Aria so much was to give her daughter backing and a sense of security so that if Aria ever encountered trouble, she wouldn’t keep everything to herself, thinking she would only worry her.
“Okay, Mom. I also don’t want to go back to the An family. They only know how to use and deceive me,” Aria said aggressively. She really didn’t want to go back to the An family—they had made her stay in the maid’s quarters, saying there was no room available.
