But how could Clara Jones not understand what her daughter wanted to say?
“Ohh, poor child has a fever and no one to take care of him. Ella Smith, why don’t you stay there and look after little Alex Walker? He took care of you when you were hospitalized,” Clara said in a teasing yet considerate voice.
Ella was speechless. She could clearly hear her mom teasing, but she still had to deal with the main issue.
“But Mom, you’re alone at home. If I stay at Starry Villa…” This was Ella's main concern. She didn’t want her mom to face Charles Smith or Ava Brown alone.
“I’m your mother, Ella. I’m perfectly fine even if I live alone. And you don’t have to worry—I already have staff loyal to us. So don’t worry about Mom, just take care of little Alex and focus on your studies,” Clara lectured her daughter for nagging.
“Mom, don’t work so late. You should go home now, it’s not good for your health,” Ella said with concern.
“Hmm… Mom knows you’re worried about me. Don’t worry, I’m packing up now. Hang up and take care of yourself and Alex,” Clara said in a soft tone before ending the call.
Looking at the hung-up call, Ella felt helpless. Her mom could nag others, but when it came to her, she was always too soft.
But unlike Ella, not everyone had peace. In the small villa where Ava Brown and Charles Smith were staying, it was a different scene. When Lisa Brown came home, she hurriedly called out for her mom, but didn’t see Ava. A servant came and told her, “Madam has gone out. Sir is resting in his room now.”
When Lisa heard that, she was a little surprised. Her mom never went out alone when her dad was at home. She decided to check on her dad, Charles, who was sleeping like the dead in his room.
Looking at the sleeping Charles, Lisa searched through her pockets and found the supplementary card in his wallet. She quietly took it and left the room.
The Ava Brown whom Lisa was looking for was now at a five-star hotel, moaning a name excitedly.
“Leo…”
“Hmm, faster…”
“Sure, baby. It’s been so many years, but you’re still as beautiful as always.”
“You’re such a good sl*t. Already someone’s mistress, but still moaning under me,” Leo said as he increased his speed.
“You… hmm…”
Ava wanted to say something, but before she could, a loud moan escaped her lips. She was really enjoying herself. In the past, every time she did this with Charles, she had to pretend like she enjoyed it—just to feed Charles’ ego and make him feel powerful.
After half an hour, Leo finally let go of Ava and lay down beside her, with her resting on his arm.
“You’re here with me. Won’t Charles suspect anything?” Leo asked while rubbing her body.
“Hmm, he’s sleeping like a pig right now. He doesn’t care about me anymore,” Ava moaned.
“You’re really something else. You won’t let go of the man who’s been beside you for so many years,” Leo laughed.
“If he were even a little capable, I wouldn’t have to do this. It’s his fault for being so useless. Other than having Henry, he’s not good for anything,” Ava said with disdain.
“I’ve already spent the night with you. Remember to keep your promise,” Ava said, changing the subject.
“Don’t worry. Your work will be done in two days,” Leo replied while thrusting into Ava again.
On the other side of the city, in An Villa, loud cursing could be heard clearly.
“This b*tch! How dare she act on her own!” A woman shouted angrily. This woman was none other than Aria While's biological mother.
“But why didn’t you stop her? Don’t you know the Brown family is coming here today to take her?” Mr. While questioned Mia in an angry voice.
Father, I tried to stop her, but she’s totally going against the While family. She even hired bodyguards to protect herself and said the While family isn’t worthy of her. She refuses to sacrifice herself even for her biological parents,” Mia said quickly, fueling the fire.
“This ba*tard—her wings have really grown hard!” Mr. While cursed again.
“Father, don’t be so angry. It’ll affect your health. Didn’t Aria love that adoptive mother of hers the most? All we need to do is control her, and Aria will walk straight into the Brown family’s arms,” said the While family’s son, who had just returned from overseas.
“Right, you’re really smart—always thinking for the family. You’re truly your mother’s pride. I don’t understand why that b*stard couldn’t be as sensible as you. It’s already her good luck that the Brown family doesn’t despise her, yet she still dares to go against both the While and Brown families. If the While family wasn’t behind her, does she really think Evan would even look at her? It’s her damn fortune to be wanted by the Brown family.”
“Don’t worry about Aria While for now. I’ll get someone to capture her adoptive mother. But the main problem now is the Brown family—they’re coming for dinner,” Mr. While said with a worried expression.
At the mention of the Brown family, everyone in the While family had complicated expressions on their faces.
