After graduation, Vivian Kane, the most popular girl in class, announced she was marrying an Emirati prince she'd met online three years ago.
She invited all the girls in our class to be bridesmaids in the UAE.
I knew it was a scam. So I called the police and stopped everyone from boarding the flight.
After I begged her to reconsider, Vivian broke up with the "prince."
To heal her broken heart, I spent a fortune taking all the girls on a seven-day trip to Europe.
But when we returned, news broke: an Emirati prince had married a girl who'd just finished her SAT.
Vivian acted as nothing happened.
But on the very day of the class reunion, she drugged me, stripped me naked, and threw me off a skyscraper.
"If it weren't for you, I'd be a princess now."
After my death, the entire class covered for her, calling it suicide.
My parents' hair turned white overnight. They died by suicide after failed appeals.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day Vivian was leaving to become a "princess."
"My lover says the UAE has endless oil and hot guys who love exotic beauties like us!"
I woke up reborn on the flight to Dubai.
All the girls were glued to Vivian Kane's fairy-tale romance. Hearing her voice, I shuddered.
Memories flooded back—her ripping my clothes, shoving a knife between my legs, forcing me to beg.
The other girls' sneers echoed in my ears:
"You're just jealous!"
"You ruined Vivian's happiness!"
"You don't deserve to live!"
What started as Vivian's assault turned into a group attack.
My body was covered in scratches, my eyes gouged out.
Yet they told the police I'd jumped willingly.
"Jessica Sterling went to Dubai before—ask her!" Vivian's voice snapped me back. "Isn't it all supercars and designer stores? Shopping's like buying groceries, right?"
I froze too long. Her face darkened.
"Don't tell me you still think my prince is a scammer—that the UAE's some hellhole?"
Her glare terrified me. I forced a smile. "I was wrong before. Sounds exactly like the Dubai I know. He might really be royalty."
Vivian beamed.
But Chloe Bennett's skeptical voice piped up: "If he's so rich, why didn't he pay for our flights?"
Silence. Then Emma Hayes laughed. "Duh! His money's in dirhams—useless here!"
Vivian thumped her chest. "Don't worry! He'll reimburse everything in Dubai. This trip won't cost you a dime!"
Cheers of "Long live Vivian!" filled the cabin.
They daydreamed about luxury desert lives.
I almost laughed.
Last life, I'd only learned the "bridesmaid" truth in Dubai.
I'd stopped them from boarding the prince's limos and called the cops.
After parents and police intervened, Vivian finally accepted her "fluent-English prince" was a fraud.
I'd taken these vipers to Europe to "heal" them. And they'd butchered me for it.
I excused myself to the restroom. On my return, I slipped my phone and passport into my pocket.
After landing, while others fetched luggage, I told Sophia Reed beside me: "Bathroom break."
Suddenly, a hand yanked my arm.
