In Blackthorne Industries' top-floor boardroom, the projector cast harsh white light.
Stella clicked the remote as the screen began playing an audio recording—
[The day before the wedding, I'll stage a plane crash.] Chase's voice was crystal clear. [Take Sophia abroad while you three keep Stella distracted.]
Marcus's laughter came through: [Don't worry, we'll make sure she's too busy to look for you.]
Reporters in the room erupted while Stella stood calmly on stage.
"This was recorded a year ago." She clicked to the next video.
Surveillance clearly showed Sophia deliberately pulling her into the water while those four men ignored Stella completely.
"And this is from the stables three months ago." Ryder took the remote as footage showed Preston's men injecting drugs into the horses.
The elite power players looked ashen.
Once this evidence went public, the Ravenwood, Steele, Kane, and Vale families would be completely ruined.
And companies that had partnered with them would inevitably suffer collateral damage.
News spread faster than plague:
#Chase Ravenwood Fake Death Scam EXPLODING!
#Four Heirs Watched Her Die EXPLODING!
#Sophia Mistress Exposed EXPLODING!
Ravenwood stock hit the daily limit down at opening, partners fled in droves.
Steele Pharmaceuticals got busted for illegal ingredients.
Kane Real Estate's projects shut down for violations.
Damien had it worst—his private equity fund was investigated for money laundering and he got arrested.
Paparazzi cornered Sophia outside her apartment building, ripping off her wig to reveal a balding scalp—side effects from long-term psychiatric medication.
She crouched screaming on the ground as camera flashes captured her humiliation.
Stella watched coldly from her car as the window rolled up.
"Satisfied?" Ryder asked.
Stella shook her head: "One last step."
Chase smashed everything breakable in his office.
"Ryder... Stella..." His eyes were bloodshot as he retrieved a gun from his safe. "I want you dead!"
With that, he sped toward Blackthorne Tower but got boxed in by a truck at an intersection. Chase yanked the wheel hard, losing control and slamming into the guardrail.
As the airbag deployed, he saw Nathan in the opposite car talking on his phone.
Chase suddenly understood—
This "accident" was Ryder's final gift to him.
In the office, Stella was peeling an apple.
The TV showed breaking news: [Former Ravenwood heir Chase seriously injured in car crash, now under police custody for attempted murder.]
Ryder leaned against his pillow: "Everything they did to you in your past life just came back to bite them."
Stella cut the apple into pieces, feeding him: "Not enough."
"Hm?"
"They haven't paid back what they owe you." Stella wiped her hands, pulling out documents. "Ravenwood's core patent source code now belongs to you."
Ryder raised an eyebrow: "How'd you get it?"
Stella winked: "Chase's computer password was his first date with Sophia." She laughed. "Thank God he's such a romantic fool."
A month later, the court verdict was final—Chase got fifteen years in prison.
Stella and Ryder sat in the back row of the gallery, watching the once-untouchable heir led away in handcuffs.
Passing their row, Chase suddenly lunged forward: "Stella! You loved me most! Why are you doing this to me?!"
Ryder immediately shielded Stella.
As guards restrained Chase, Stella said something only he could hear:
"The Stella who loved you died that rainy night when you all watched her bleed out."
Chase stood frozen in shock before guards dragged him away.
Outside the courthouse, sunlight was perfect.
Ryder suddenly took Stella's hand: "Still angry?"
Stella looked up at the azure sky, exhaling deeply: "Not anymore."
With that, she turned to hug Ryder, burying her face in his chest: "This lifetime, I just want to love you properly."
Ryder kissed the top of her head: "Let's go home, Mrs. Blackthorne."
In the distance, Marcus, Preston, and Damien were fleeing paparazzi in complete disarray while their car headed in the opposite direction.
