Sierra gasped in shock.
After a stunned moment, she finally found her voice again.
She'd seen this coming all along.
But as the host, she had to hype up the atmosphere.
"Congratulations, Miss Bradford," the host announced, "You've won the second round!"
The audience below erupted in cheers, the excitement reaching a fever pitch.
Down in the audience, Gavin's face darkened with fury.
'Losing to Georgie was one thing,' he thought bitterly, 'but both of us getting beaten by her? Unacceptable!'
Meredith, Perla, and Mya were absolutely fuming, ready to explode.
Meredith gnashed her teeth and hissed, "Good! At least my precious sister gets to stay in the Bradford family!"
Perla and Mya stood nearby, constantly hurling curses at that detestable woman.
Feeling utterly humiliated, Georgie scrambled to his feet and made a beeline for the exit.
Arielle wasn't about to let him leave, not after her hard-won victory.
She shot him a look and said, "Think you can just walk away? Not a chance."
"Georgie, get the transfer contract for Golden District land ready, now!" Arielle ordered.
She reached out her hand demandingly, a coy smile on her lips that gave her an unexpectedly girlish charm.
Georgie stood frozen, all his former swagger gone.
Now, he was like a wounded beast.
He glared at her with murderous eyes, thinking, 'If I could, I'd tear her limb from limb.'
Georgie thought bitterly, 'All my lifetime prestige, finally, my gambling skills had earned me a little respect from the family.'
Now, everything was ruined by this catastrophic loss.
Georgie had purchased that plot of land in the Golden District from Gavin, not only paying a fortune but also owing him a favor.
Now, he was losing on both fronts.
Arielle couldn't care less about what Georgie was thinking.
Arielle taunted, "Surely the mighty Mr. Tate wouldn't think of reneging? We've got the contract, the wager, and the entire Cloud Nine as witnesses. For someone of your stature, what would people say if you balked at handing over a mere piece of land..."
Her mocking gaze pinned him in place.
Georgie's face turned ashen with rage. He was seriously considering welshing on the bet.
Georgie thought bitterly, 'That land in the Golden District is worth a king's ransom.
'If I really hand it over...
'Father will tear into me when I get home.
'And my siblings? They'll never let me hear the end of it.
'I only dared to make that bet because it never crossed my mind I could lose, especially not to some ordinary, unremarkable girl like her.'
Just as the standoff between the two reached its peak, Emily suddenly burst onto the stage out of nowhere.
She said, "Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you treat Mr. Tate like that! You got a death wish or something?"
Emily had been dragged aside by Georgie's men, but she stayed close enough to overhear their conversation about the high-stakes game at Cloud Nine.
She immediately gathered her friends and rushed to the casino.
'Actually, all I wanted was to see Arielle lose,' Emily thought smugly.
She knew Georgie was a master at cards, while Arielle was completely clueless.
Instead of watching Arielle lose, she ended up seeing his man lose at cards and turn pale with rage under Arielle's pressure.
She just couldn't help but want to put Arielle in her place.
She thought, 'Maybe, if I play my cards right, I could win Georgie back and be his favorite girl again.'
"So you really are trying to weasel out of it, like some cowardly mutt," Arielle sneered, her piercing gaze locked onto him.
Her dark, menacing stare bore into him, unblinking.
It was like a hunter eyeing disobedient prey, sending chills down his spine.
Georgie had always been tyrannical, used to putting others down, never the one being humiliated himself.
But today, with the entire high society crowd watching, his disgrace was on full display.
He found himself trapped in a humiliating predicament, utterly unable to save face.
Emily, puffed up with arrogance, sneered, "You try pushing my man around again, and I swear I'll end you!"
Under the astonished gazes of the crowd, Georgie whirled around and slapped Emily hard across the face.
He snarled, "You fucking bitch! How dare you meddle in my affairs?"
'Now it finally hit me, if it weren't for that damn bitch Emily, I never would have met Arielle. If not for Emily, I wouldn't have lost my title as the Konisian Gambling King,' he seethed.
Emily sprawled on the floor, dazed from the slap. 'I was defending him,' she thought bitterly, 'He could have just ignored me. Why did he have to hit me?'
Emily looked up at Georgie with tearful, aggrieved eyes, but when she met his murderous glare, she immediately lowered her head in submission.
Like a chastened child, she retreated from the stage, trying to make herself invisible.
Arielle sneered, "So, Mr. Tate hits women now? How chivalrous."
Arielle wasn't defending Emily out of kindness, she was just trying to provoke Georgie and put him in his place.
Her next step was to drrive a wedge between the Tate and Boone families.
Arielle thought, 'And then there's the North Iugra operation. I've long suspected the Tate family's involvement, but I still haven't found any proof.'
She shot Georgie a cold look and thought, 'For scum like him, not eliminating him on the spot is already mercy.'
Arielle pressed on sharply, her eyes fixed on him. "Where's the contract?"
The situation on stage was spiraling out of control, so Sierra quickly stepped in to defuse the tension.
After all, the gambling tournament still had more rounds to go.
The guests in the audience were eating up every bit of the drama.
Their faces were alight with gossipy delight as they watched the stage.
Honestly, this was far juicier than anything on reality TV.
Arielle and Georgie stepped off the stage.
At that moment, Logan went up to them.
He said, "Ladies and gentlemen, abide by Cloud Nine's code and honor your wagers. Otherwise, per house rules, we'll take a leg from the loser."
Georgie's heart lurched.
'Damn it, I completely forgot about Cloud Nine's rules,' he thought in panic.
Georgie glared daggers at the bodyguard beside him.
Catching the unspoken command, the bodyguard hurried off but soon returned, shaking his head helplessly.
Arielle immediately saw through Georgie's bluff. He clearly didn't have the financial capacity to buy the land in the Golden District.
'How ridiculous,' she thought.
Arielle feigned concession. "Land transfer takes time, so I'll give you three days. Draft an IOU and a letter of commitment, with Mr. Calhoun as witness. When Mr. Tate fulfills the contract in three days, I'll livestream the results for all to see."
The manager at the venue quickly chimed in, "Today's match was truly unforgettable, it's all in the spirit of friendly competition. Honoring the contract is fundamental, and I'd be honored to serve as a witness for everyone here."
Georgie glared at the manager.
'That sly old fox,' he thought, 'Isn't he just making it clear, by being the witness, he's forcing me to keep my promise?'
Realizing he couldn't wriggle out of it, Georgie grudgingly ordered someone to fetch pen and paper, then reluctantly signed the IOU and the contract, humiliation written all over his face.
His hand trembled violently as he signed.
This signature was his utter humiliation.
'Damn it all,' he thought bitterly, 'if I'd known it would come to this, I never would've challenged her, not in a million years.
'If Father finds out, he won't just be furious, he'll make sure I never walk properly again. And my golden boy reputation in his eyes? Gone forever.'
After signing, Georgie shot Arielle a venomous glare.
Arielle snatched the freshly signed IOU and letter of commitment from Georgie's hands.
Arielle said sweetly, her voice laced with menace, Three days. Otherwise, I'll livestream your disgrace to the entire Konisn community in Haskium."
Georgie let out a cold snort.
Seething with resentment, he could barely accept it.
His fists clenched tightly at his sides.
'I have to control myself,' he thought.
Otherwise, he knew his fists might fly right at her.
Arielle continued her taunting, her red lips parting with a coy smile as she murmured softly.
"Oh dear, what can I do? I didn't want this either, but your woman just had to be so disobedient and insist on provoking me!" she said, feigning innocence.
With just a few words, she dragged Emily, who had been trying to stay out of sight, right back into the spotlight.
A single dark glare from Georgie was all it took, his bodyguard immediately dragged Emily out from where she'd been cowering.
Dragging her along, Georgie snarled, "You damn bitch! This is all your fault. Just wait till I'm through with you!"
She said, "Mr. Tate, please... no... don't, "
