Phyllis wouldn't dare admit she was going to the Bradford family to claim compensation.
Meredith shot her a cold glare and sneered, "Who do you think you are to visit the Bradford estate? The Bradford estate isn't someplace your kind can just waltz into!"
Meredith wasn't trying to defend Arielle. she just saw Phyllis as another gutter rat like Arielle, both born in the slums.
Meredith thought to herself, 'The Bradford family already has one filthy stain, and now Phyllis thinks she can just waltz in too?
'What do they take the Bradford family for?'
She would never allow such trash to set foot on the Bradford estate.
Seeing Phyllis's clueless look, Perla lifted her chin haughtily and sneered.
"Do you know who she is? That's Arielle's younger sister. If you want to go to the Bradford family, you'd better ask the lady of the house first, see if she even approves," Perla said coldly.
The group stood with their arms crossed, mocking gazes fixed on Phyllis.
Phyllis shuddered violently. 'She's Arielle's sister?' The realization sent a chill down her spine.
Phyllis thought nervously, 'Wait, did I just badmouth Arielle in front of her own sister? Am I in trouble now?'
Frightened, Phyllis stole a furtive glance at Meredith's expression. Seeing nothing unusual, she finally allowed herself to relax a little.
After apologizing to the group, Phyllis slunk away with her head down. She knew she couldn't afford to offend any of these people.
As soon as she left, Mya could barely contain her excitement, rubbing her hands together.
She sneered, "This is some juicy gossip! Who would've thought she could party that hard? With something this wild, it'd be a shame not to share it with everyone at school, especially with a face as alluring as hers."
Meanwhile, Arielle was counting down the seconds.
Tonight was the final deadline, if the Golden District land parcel wsn't secured by 8 PM, She'd go live globally, exposing Georgie and the entire Tate family as notorious promise-breakers.
Meanwhile, in another villa, the room was a total wreck.
Georgie had been in a destructive rage since last night.
He slammed his fist on the table and roared, "Damn bastard! How dare you threaten me?"
Just an hour ago, Logan relayed Arielle's message to Georgie, demanding he honor their bet immediately.
Or else, at 8 PM sharp, they would broadcast live to the world.
If this had happened before, it wouldn't have been a big deal, at worst, Georgie's dad would just chew him out. But now, it was a whole different story.
With tensions running high between the Konis and Haskium, if anyone tries to exploit this situation, his father would absolutely break his legs.
Georgie thought to himself, 'The Boone family are actually demanding a whopping 1 billion dollars for the Golden District!
'That crappy piece of land... is it really worth that much?
'Gavin really stabbed me in the back! Now he's threatening to go to my old man if I don't pay up.
'I can't let my family find out about this, or else...'
He'd already covered up the whole competition, telling his family it was just fooling around with friends, there was no actual bet involved.
He figured if he could just take care of Arielle, this whole mess would be over.
To his surprise, the hitmen he sent out last night still hadn't reported back. Georgie thought anxiously, 'What the hell is going on?'
He'd spent years building up that hit squad, and now it looked like they were as good as dead.
Georgie slammed his fist on the table and cursed, "Useless scum! Can't even take out one damn little woman!
'Only two damn hours left till eight, and that bastard Gavin still won't hand over the deed unless he sees cold hard cash.
'I'm so sick of this!'
As he paced anxiously around the room, his phone suddenly rang.
Seeing the caller ID showed it was his team, the tension drained from his face. 'They must be bringing good news,' he thought, finally letting his guard down.
He hurriedly answered the call.
The voice on the other end sounded utterly exhausted. "Mr. Tate, mission failed! Only nine men left!'
They had just been released from the police station, only because a high-ranking officer recognized them as Georgie's men.
That was the only reason they got out. Otherwise, they'd still be locked up at the police station right now.
"What? Can't even handle one damn woman? You're all worthless trash!" Georgie exploded with fury, the veins on his forehead pulsing violently.
He fumed inwardly, 'If only I could've taken out that woman, all my problems would've been solved.
'Now I've lost everything, not only did I fail to get what I wanted, but I lost my men too. What a total disaster!''
"Boss, Lucas took the woman. Our car was wrecked, and most of our men didn't make it. Only nine of us are still alive."Lucas Walter
Georgie froze. "Lucas Walter? Since when did those two get involved with each other?"
Georgie was losing his mind. The Walter family's power in Haskium was immense. They weren't the kind of people he could afford to cross.
Georgie thought furiously, 'Damn! No wonder Arielle dared to threaten me, she's got the whole Walter family backing her up!'
One of the team members reported, "Yes, Mr. Tate, Lucas is looking into us."
"Clean this up completely, leave no traces behind."
"Yes, Mr. Tate."
After hanging up the phone, Georgie flopped onto the sofa.
He'd really screwed up this time. Now he had no choice but to hand over that the Golden District.
Desperate for help, Georgie immediately dialed his mother's number.
His mom would scold him, but she'd always bail him out.
Almost instantly, sharp reprimands blasted through the phone. Georgie quickly pulled the device away from his ear and switched on the speakerphone.
No matter what his mother said or how she scolded him, he meekly accepted it all.
He pinned all the blame squarely on Arielle.
Putting on his most pitiful act, he wailed, "Mom, you have no idea how awful that woman is. She totally set me up! It's all my fault for being so useless and falling for her tricks. Mom, I really messed up big this time. I can't face you or Dad anymore... I am is just going to end it all, so I won't bring any more shame to the family."
With that, he shot the bodyguard beside him a look.
The shrewd bodyguard immediately played along, shouting dramatically from inside, "Mr. Tate, put down the knife! Don't do anything rash!" Then, feigning panic, he gasped, "Oh God! Mr. Tate, you're bleeding so much!"
The woman on the other end of the line abruptly changed her tone, her earlier fury melted into panicked concern.
"Son, don't do anything foolish! Mom will help you. Put down the knife, listen to me," his mother pleaded. Then, her voice breaking into a desperate scream to the bodyguard, "Quick, wrest the knife away from him!"
The bodyguard said, "Mrs. Tate, there's only a little over an hour left. If we don't do something, they'll livestream it to the whole world and expose Mr. Tate as a promise-breaker. That's why he's become so desperate...
"No, Mr. Tate! You've already cut your left wrist, don't cut your right one too! Let go! Mrs. Tate has agreed to send you the money!"
Georgie said, "You're lying! Mom might love me to death, but there's no way she'd ever agree to this. It's one billion dollars we're talking about!"
On the other end of the line, the woman immediately ordered the bodyguard, "Hand the phone to Georgie, now!"
She had no idea the call was on speakerphone and genuinely thought her son was about to take his own life.
Georgie lounged on the sofa, legs casually crossed, and called out into the phone with feigned distress, "Mom!"
The broken, strained cry in his voice wrenched at the woman's heart.
"I'll have the accountant wire you the money immediately! Now, go to the hospital and get that wound treated, don't you dare do anything foolish, you hear me?" Georgie's mother cried out desperately.
"Alright, Mom... I got it..." Georgie said, his voice trailing off slightly.
Georgie quickly hung up and let out a long sigh of relief.
Georgie fumed inwardly, 'Damn it, I'm so pissed off. It's all that bitch Arielle's fault!
'Good thing Mom spoils me, she always comes through with the cash when I need it.'
Without a second's hesitation, he dialed Gavin's number.
At exactly 7:50 PM, Georgie personally delivered Golden District deed transfer contract to Arielle.
Arielle carefully reviewed every page of the contract. Once she was sure everything was in order, she tucked the paperwork under her arm and walked out without another word.
Not a word was spoken the entire time.
Georgie was seething with rage, his fingers twitching with the urge to lash out at that woman.
He thought, 'This woman's got some serious backing. Who knows if her protectors are lurking in the shadows?
'Fine, I'll let it go for now. But I'll find another chance to make her pay, slowly and thoroughly.'
Georgie now harbored a deep grudge against Gavin. If it weren't for Gavin's stubborn refusal to hand over Golden District, he wouldn't be in such a tight spot.
Arielle returned to her bedroom, a darkly triumphant smile playing on her lips.
She now has hundreds of millions of dollars in cash reserves, plus two prime land parcels under her name.
Arielle thought darkly, 'Just you wait, Gavin, Meredith, your payback is coming!
'What's next on my revenge list?
'Should I snatch away what Meredith cherishes most?
'Or should I just send them both straight to hell?
'No, where's the fun in that?
'One suffers, while the other gets a front-row seat to the show! Now that's true love!'

Meredith shot her a cold glare and sneered, "Who do you think you are to visit the Bradford estate? The Bradford estate isn't someplace your kind can just waltz into!"
