                    Fiona POV
“Fiona won the challenge fair and square,” my father Xander speaks, “so whatever she chooses to do with the pack is entirely within her prerogative.”
Good, they weren't showing resistance with my triumphant win. I had half expected them to have objections or try to come to Celeste's side. It looked as though Celeste had given them more than a shock, and they had finally begun to open their eyes.
“Good, because you are now merging with mine and Liam’s pack. I have no desire to separate from him, and I’m not about to put all my efforts into saving a pack that had no desire to do the same for me. You just saw the extent of that which Celeste has gone to, and I can only thank the moon goddess that I am alive today.”
God knows how many times she had tried to kill me when we were nothing more than small children. I shuddered. Celeste was a sociopath. She was rotten to the core. I had never seen anybody so malicious or vindictive as her, and I hoped never to come across her again because I could not say for certain that our next meeting would not result in her death.
“We didn’t know, or we would have…” Xavier trailed off.
I suspected that neither he nor Alpha Xander, my true father, would have known what to do with Celeste. today had truly shocked the two of them.
Nobody had an answer for what they would have done to Celeste. I sighed and turned to my mate, hooking my arm around his. Alpha Max returned, a grim expression on his face.
I gathered that Celeste had resisted the entire time he'd dragged her sorry ass back to the dungeon. I felt particularly sorry for this man who was now stuck with her for the next few months. She would be an absolute misery to deal with. Not to mention dangerous. She could not be allowed to escape but I knew that Alpha Max would ensure she didn't.
“Alpha Max, are you still in agreement with taking Celeste back to your pack?” I asked directly, wondering if the man might have changed his mind now that he had seen just how vicious her nature was.
“I am. I know she’s not exactly wife material, and she sure as hell ain’t going to be my Luna, but she’ll remain at my pack until she gives birth. After that…” he frowned and then looked at me directly. “I’m afraid I don’t know what I will do to her.”
At least he had the decency to be honest. I suspected he was looking to me to see what my answer or suggestion would be because he wasn't even so much as glancing towards my fathers, the Alpha twins.
“You’re not intending to kill her, are you?” Alpha Xavier spoke, sounding slightly alarmed.
Alpha Max shrugged. “Do you have an objection, Alphas? If you do, I’m open to suggestions. I intend to keep my heir,” he added, “whether it’s a boy or girl. Luna Fiona has inspired me to see that girls are just as capable as men in being Alphas of their pack" he finished, sounding slightly awed as I blushed.
I felt slightly flattered. Liam gave a low growl in his throat, and I almost chuckled at how possessive my mate was coming across. I patted his hand to soothe the beast that was threatening to come out while Alpha Max merely looked amused.
“It’s okay,” I said and turned to my fathers, spreading my hands out. I was going back to my pack once this was sorted.
I was over this one. I wanted the comfort of home and my sanctuary back. I wanted to sleep in my own bed and lie next to my mate in peace. It wasn't much but to me it was everything.
“So what do we do with Celeste?” I mused and then frowned and turned back to Alpha Max. “How will you ensure she doesn’t do anything harmful to the child she is carrying?” I asked suddenly suspicious that Celeste would do anything to rid herself of the child that was growing inside of her stomach.
He sighed. “I have a man keeping a close watch on her currently,” he nodded at me, “and when she comes back with me she’ll be under guard at all times. I won’t tolerate losing my heir due to her selfishness. You might not agree with it,” he added darkly, “but I have to and will protect what is rightfully mine.”
“I have no objections.”
I was quick to reassure him. He nodded tightly. My fathers looked at a lost for words.
“What happens to Celeste is rightfully mine to determine. She has wronged both me and Alpha Max. Alpha Max has decided on what her punishment is to be on his end, but I have yet to make my decision,” I announced gravely.
I wasn't about to let Celeste off the hook so easily. She had gone her whole life being spoiled and coddled by my fathers, and this was the end result. Actions had consequences, and quite frankly, I wanted her nowhere near me or my pack members. She would not be coming back here. Not on my watch. I would kill her on sight, I was certain of it.
The bitch had tried to seduce my mate. What if it had been my mate’s child she was pregnant with? I was so angry that I could not see straight. My fathers could not save Celeste this time. She was going to pay. I might not have it in me to kill her at this moment in time, but I could do the next best thing.
“Once Celeste has given birth, give her twenty-four hours to recover,” I told Alpha Max, who was listening intently to my instructions, “and then turn her rogue. She can survive in the wild. The moon goddess will either take mercy on her, or she will die.”
I suspected it would be the latter. The moon goddess did not take kindly to shifters who disobeyed the laws ,and Celeste had broken them.
“Fiona. How can you…” my father,r Xander, stopped at the fierce expression on my face.
I was not about to let him make an argument for Celeste's sake. They needed to face reality even if it slapped them right in the face. Celeste would be gone and she would never show her face again if she knew what was right for her.
“I do not make this choice lightly, but it is a fitting consequence. If this had been anybody else, she would have been executed. She still stands a chance to survive, so be grateful for that,” I snapped.
I could have put her on trial, but I didn’t have the energy or inclination to go through something like that. I was tired.
My fathers remained silent, perhaps sensing I was close to going over the edge.
“As you wish, Luna Fiona. I will immediately send word when it is done," Alpha Max assured me.
Alpha Max remained courteous as always. I smiled and nodded at him before turning to my mate and rehooking our arms together.
“I wish to go home,” I told him plainly.
I was done. Through with all of it. I had saved this pack from Celeste. I glanced back at my fathers as we turned towards the doorway. “You have one week to organize everybody in this pack to merge with our own. I’ll make sure there is plenty of accommodation and that our pack is expecting you. Don’t delay,” I warned, “because I won’t tolerate it. I might be your daughter, but I am also Luna of my pack, and my mate is an Alpha. I suggest you don’t anger either of us.”
“Of course. We will be there within the week.”
My fathers nod tightly at me. I shake Alpha Max’s hand, and then we begin to head out. Both my mate and I fixated on going home, while I shook the thought or rather image of Celste being barred in her own cell from my mind. She had gotten everything she deserved and then some, and I? I had managed to gain another pack and more territory for our own. All in all, it had been a somewhat successful, if not busy, day. Regan, I thought, glancing up at the sky, I’m sorry for what’s happened, but I know you know it’s for the best. I would not disrespect my mother’s memory by allowing her pack to turn to ruin. I would also ensure that she had a grave at my pack where I could visit her and speak to her often. I had a lot to take care of, but I was looking forward to the days ahead. I was sure they would go without incident. As for Celeste? I no longer had to worry about her. Not anymore.
