Abigail looked extremely impatient. Not wanting them to ruin everyone's mood like Christian and Daniella had done before, she put down her knife and fork, stood up, and turned to Gabriel, saying, "Let's talk somewhere less crowded."
"Why?" Christian immediately wore an unhappy expression. Sebastian was right there—this was a matter that could be explained in two or three sentences, yet Abigail was making excuses.
James wanted to help Abigail out, but Warren held him back. "Abigail, after you finish talking to him about the chip implantation and medical robot improvements, go introduce the details to Seb's client again," Warren said.
Warren's words made Gabriel alert. He glanced at Sebastian and found he showed no sign of objection. When Gabriel looked back at Abigail, his eyes were filled with inquiry and unease.
The three went to the entrance of the banquet hall. Gabriel didn't immediately bring up Stephen's matter but asked, "The project with Celestial Group is about the chip? Are you the main person in charge of this project?"
"Aren't you here to talk about Stephen?" Abigail looked at him and Christian with mockery.
Christian said, "What's your attitude—"
Gabriel interrupted his son, who was about to scold Abigail. "She's your sister. Don't speak to her with so much hostility."
Then, he leaned closer to Abigail with a flattering smile and said amiably, "Abby, my company is also very capable. Why don't you come and take a look when you have time?
"Although we can't make chips, we've participated in the research and development of many mobile applications."
"When did you learn programming?" Christian still didn't believe it, and seeing how close she had sat to Sebastian the other day, he was sure she was only here because of Sebastian.
Abigail said, "About Stephen's matter, if Ralph can find a lawyer to settle it privately, that's fine. If not, don't come to me.
"Otherwise, I'll send the surveillance video to the police station. Whoever in the Gibson family hit someone should go to prison." Abigail ignored Christian and looked coldly at Gabriel.
The kind smile on Gabriel's face vanished, and he stared at her coldly. "Abby, did you have someone spy on me?"
"I don't have the time to spy on you. If you don't want others to know your dirty deeds, don't do it," Abigail said, then turned and left. Christian tried to stop her, but Gabriel held him back.
Standing in the corner, Christian looked confused, while Gabriel said darkly, "She's different from us, so she has no feelings for us at all."
Christian was taken aback and asked in confusion, "How is she different from us? Also, is the video she mentioned about Dani or Stevie?"
"Stop asking. It seems we can't count on her," Gabriel hadn't expected that approaching Abigail would not only fail to solve the problem but also reveal that she had evidence of his hit-and-run.
Abigail returned to Sebastian and the others. Seeing that he was still staring at Gabriel, she said softly, "Sorry for the trouble."
"What did you say to him?" Sebastian retracted his gaze and looked at her with a hint of displeasure.
Abigail said, "I just refused to help the Gibson family keep Stephen out of prison. Why?"
Sebastian looked at her as if he could see through her thoughts. "You have some important evidence against Gabriel, don't you?"
His words startled Abigail. She widened her eyes and asked, "How did you know?"
"Gabriel looked at you with hostility. You should be careful recently," Sebastian said. Just then, James interjected, "Seb, you're going on a business trip soon, right? Since she has good ideas for chip and robot improvements, take her with you."
Warren continued, "This is just to let her lie low. The Gibson family's issues will have to be resolved eventually."
Sebastian sat down, leaned back in his chair, and motioned for Abigail to sit too.
She sat beside him, not expecting Gabriel might try to harm her over the surveillance video. But thinking about how the Gibson family had treated her, she felt everything made sense.
Gabriel had even sent his own biological son, whom he'd raised for years, to take the blame—let alone her.
She had only wanted to threaten Gabriel with the video to make him behave, not expecting he might try to harm her because of it.
James picked up his wine glass, took a sip, and said casually, "It's up to you. If you want someone from their family to go to prison, it's not impossible."
Sebastian turned to look at Abigail, still with a casual attitude, but his eyes were exceptionally focused.
