Logan and Scott froze at my words, then wordlessly slammed the door behind them as they stormed out.
Good riddance.
I wasted no time packing my bags and heading straight for the school dorms.
That three-story villa? Sure, it looked impressive from the outside, but let's be real—it was a snake pit. The only reason I'd stayed this long was for revenge. Otherwise, I wouldn't have lasted five minutes in that house.
Before leaving, I planted hidden cameras in strategic spots throughout the villa. The failed body swap wouldn't stop Logan and Scott—they'd just cook up another scheme. Those two weren't the type to quit.
Knowledge is power. And after getting a second chance at life, I wasn't about to walk into another one of their traps blind.
When I handed over the piglet to the farm owner, I slipped him a fat stack of cash with one request: install four cameras in that barn and capture everything. I needed to see every last detail.
Settling into my dorm, I immediately pulled up the feed on my phone—and what I saw blew my mind.
The farmer hadn't just followed instructions—he'd gone above and beyond. That little pig had been pumped full of extra hormones. No wonder the guy had thumped his chest, boasting it'd turn into a mother pig overnight. Talk about overdelivering.
By the time Logan and Scott arrived, the piglet was barely moving—just twitching on the ground with shaky legs, covered in bruises and missing patches of fur.
Logan looked wrecked. He kicked open the gate without hesitation, not caring about the filth as he scooped up the pig.
Scott? He was seeing red. Fists clenched, eyes blazing, he grabbed a stick like he was ready to murder someone. "That bitch Alexa... I'll kill her right now!"
Logan yanked him back, voice tight. "Cool it. You think I'm not hurting too? Jessica went through the same thing. But if you off Alexa now, who takes Jessica's place?"
"Letting her die's too easy. Too many witnesses around. We get back, put Alexa's necklace on Jessica, and she'll be the one who suffered. Then we make Alexa pay—properly."
A chill ran down my spine.
This cold, calculating side of Logan? Maybe this was the real him all along. Either way, thank god I'd seen it coming.
Back at the villa, Scott immediately snatched my old necklace and slapped it around the pig's neck. Nothing happened.
As Logan tore through the house looking for me, realization dawned—I was gone.
Panicking, Scott called me. When I answered, his voice cracked: "Jessica... is that you?"
I almost laughed. "Scott, have you lost it? Jessica's in the hospital. Why the hell are you calling me?"
There was a beat of silence before he tried—and failed—to sound calm. "Alexa... you're not wearing the necklace I gave you?"
I rolled my eyes hard. "That fancy thing? Left it on the vanity at the Montgomery place. Way too expensive for me to accept."
Click. Blocked.
Pulling up the surveillance feed, I watched Scott punch a wall in rage while Logan just... smiled. That eerie, knowing smile.
"Don't worry, dearest sister," he murmured. "I've got plenty of ways to handle you."
