"Alright!" Jennie hugged me, "That's progress!" She turned her attention back to the TV and leaned back on my bed headrest again, "What do you have so far?"
I popped a piece of popcorn in my mouth, "Nothing." I murmured so she wouldn't hear.
I was definitely mistaken. She heard.
Jennies head slowly turned to look at me again, her lips were pursed, her brows were furrowed. You could tell she was mad.
"Park Chaeyoung." She whispered in an annoyed tone, "There are enough reasons for a guy to fake date a woman."
I slumped down and pouted, "Like?"
"Girl!" She looked pretty annoyed now, but I still had no idea what she was thinking.
"You're hot!" Jennie wined.
"Uhm, and?" I was now even more confused than ever.
"That's it. You are super smart, talented, hot, cute, funny. I can go on!" She took a piece of popcorn, "He has all the benefits!" She said rather seductively before popping the popcorn in her mouth.
"Jeez, why don't you just date me then, Jen?!" I moaned before taking a sip of my drink.
"Oh, can I?!" Jennie's eyes twinkled, "I can be a better boyfriend than him."
I rolled my eyes. Here she goes again.
"Plus, all my clothes will fit." She added
Nothing new here whenever Jennie flirted with me. It always used to annoy Taehyung, but now that we barely see him she does it way more often.
I still didn't have a good reason for Jungkook to fake date me. I knew I would be up all night thinking about it.
"I have an idea!" Jennie bit her bottom lip.
"I will take anything at this point!" I groaned as I took another sip of my drink.
"What if you just grab him by the ear, and say, 'You listen here Jeon Jungkook! You will fake date me because I need your help, and you don't have a choice!' And then look him in the eyes."
I wanted to ball my eyes out. Jennie really needs to stop watching movies. I'm not doing that!
* * *
"OK. Take him by the ear and just tell him what he needs to hear." I pep talked myself.
I watched Jungkook as he folded his dirty clothes and put them in a plastic bag into his locker.
I walked over to him, and now the only thing stopping us from seeing each other was his locker door.
"Jungkook," I said.
His head looked around, and then he looked past his locker door and raised his eyebrows.
He smirked and then closed his locker door as he leaned on his shoulder.
"Chaeyoung." His voice was deep, sending shivers down my spine.
I froze and forgot everything Jennie told me- that I insisted I wouldn't do. Now here I am, embarrassing myself once again.
"You!" I pointed my finger at his nose, "You will-"
He cut me off, "You have a good reason and are willing to beg again?" He asked.
"Ugh, fuck! Why was this so hard!"
"N-no!" I murmured, "You are going to fake-"
He cut me off again, this time pilling my arm and yanking me into the janitor's closet.
"Yah-" I yelled, but his hand covered my mouth. He pinned me against the door when he closed it and looked as if he was listening to something. I stared at him, both confused and annoyed. His hand slowly dropped from my mouth.
"You are one rude and disrespectful little idiot that I don't even know why I-" His hand pinned to my mouth again, and he looked at me with a soft glare.
"Do you ever keep your mouth shut?!" He whispered angrily. His smirk came back, "Will you not talk when I let you go?" He asked.
I slowly nodded, and he pulled his hand away once again.
"What are you doing?!" I asked in an annoyed whisper.
"Hiding, duh!" He looked at the door behind my head.
"From?"
He looked down at me again, "My over obsessive ex."
"Ohhhhhhhhhh"
I was going to keep quiet, but then a cheeky idea popped into my head.
"OH, YOUR EX?" I yelled.
His eyes widened with disbelief.
"WOW, DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD ONE?!" I yelled some more
This time both his hands fell, tightly covering my mouth.
"You are so fucking loud!" He whispered angrily.
I tried to hold my laugh because otherwise, he would feel me puffing on his hand. I slowly tried to lift my hand, and struggling a bit I realized just how tight we actually were.
I softly grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand down, "You want me to shut up?" I asked.
He pursed his lips together and nodded vigorously.
I lifted my hand and pointed out my thumb, "Your first condition; No more crazy ex following you around." I pointed out my index finger, "Two; You won't have girls swarming all over you anymore." I sighed with a smile, "And since I gave you two reasons, I don't have to beg!"
He bit his lower lip, "Those are good reasons, but I kind of want you to beg again." A small smirk escaped his lips, "It was funny."
I lightly hit his chest, "Not!"
He let out a chuckle, and when he looked down at me again, his eyes filled with sparkles, I remembered how cramped the janitor's closet was.
"Damn it!"
"OK, all jokes aside. Open the door." I said.
He shook his head, "Nope, I don't feel like it."
I rolled my eyes, "Jungkook!"
Again, he shook his head.
I grabbed the door handle behind me and managed to open it. Falling back I gasped for air.
"Jungkook, you're good at teasing me." I wined.
He ruffled his hair and walked out of the closet.
"He's what?"
I looked up to see Jennie and Taehyung standing and holding their books.
I blushed in embarrassment.
"Chaeyoung?" Jennie took a small step closer, "What were you two doing there?" She asked with a smirk.
"We're officially fake dating!" I smiled and put my hands on my hips proudly.
* * *
"Jungkook!" I yelled at the big group of boys that were about to start their morning jog.
Everyone turned to look at me, confused. But my eyes were only on Jungkook. He was sitting on the lowest part of the bleachers and tying his shoelaces.
I ran over to him and placed a water bottle down next to him.
"Hi," I whispered.
"Hm," He answered with a hum.
"Hey, Chae." Taehyung held out his fist for a fist bump.
"What are you doing here?" One of the guys asked me when Tae and I finished our secret handshake.
"None of your business, Jaehyun," Jungkook murmured.
"So Chae? Is it?" the guy- apparently name Jaehyun asked, "Are you single?"
I bit the inside of my cheek, "I-"
"No, she's not." Jungkook stood up and put his arm around my shoulders, "So back off."
I looked over at Tae, who was trying to hold in his laugh.
"Kookie!"
Everyone looked over to where the yell came from. Except for Jungkook- he closed his eyes and looked at the ground.
A small girl with cute features was walking over to us. She was very pretty.
"Hey, Kookie." She said with a cute smile.
Jungkook turned and looked at her, "Sorry, Tzuyu, I don't have time for this." He turned and looked over at me," I'll see you later then, Chae?"
I looked over at Tzuyu- she looked very confused and annoyed.
"Yes, I'll see you after practice," I answered.
Jungkook nodded and began to jog. I gave Tzuyu a small smile and left for my class.
* * *
"Ugh! Where is he?!" I whispered to myself.
After his practice, I texted him to meet me at the park that was only a few minutes walk from our school. Everyone hangs out here after school. Mostly to get a break from your family and school.
I looked up and noticed him running towards me. Fast.
Too fast.
Before I could register what he was doing, his body slammed into me and his arms wrapped around my waist, hugging me tightly.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" I shoved him off of me, disgusted.
He just grinned, "There are people over there, and they are watching." he answered through his teeth.
I turned around and noticed a friend group with a few of the members watching us.
I turned around again, "You didn't have to hug me?"
"Chill," He rolled his eyes, "It's not like I'm infected with some sort of disease."
"Oh yeah. What about cooties?" I crossed my arms.
"Bro," He sat down at the bench next to us, "You still believe in that stuff?"
"OK. Fine. Let's just get this over and done with." I waved my hands and sat on the other side of the bench to face him.
"You still believe in cooties." He said with a chuckled.
"Any excuse to not touch the male gender," I answered with a grin.
His smile dropped.
Then his eyebrows furrowed, "What am I doing here anyway?"
"Rules," I answered.
If you are going to fake date someone, you need certain rules and boundaries placed.
"Ever watched To All The Boys I've Loved Before?" I asked.
In case you're wondering, yes, To All The Boys I've Loved Before is one of the movies Jennie, Taehyung, and I watched. It was one of my favorites!
He shook his head slowly.
"Well, they fake dated and made rules."
His mouth made an 'O' shape, "Didn't they end up dating in the end though?" He asked.
"Yes. But we're different." I lifted my nose, "I don't think I could fall for you. Like ever!"
"And I thought you didn't know the movie?"
"Ha, you can fall for me. I'm very romantic I'll have you know!"
I could see my comment hurt his super high pride.
"And I do remember seeing it, just forgot the name." He leaned back, "Tzuyu forced me to watch it with her when we were still dating."
"Great! So you're used to being forced to watch movies with girls!" I clapped my hands together, "I love to watch Rom-Coms!"
Jungkooks face fulled of horror, and he leaned forward again.
"Oh, no, no, no!" I'm not going through that again!" He shook his head vigorously.
"We have to act like we're dating," I complained.
"We don't have to ACTUALLY date?!" He answered with a wine.
"Fine! If you won't watch Rom Coms with me then I won't watch your games." I said with a huff.
His eyes turned wide, "You can't NOT watch my games!" He moaned, "Every couple supports each other with their hobbies!"
"And watching movies IS my hobby!" I groaned back.
"UGH! Fine!" He sat back in his chair with his arms crossed.
"Don't 'UGH' me!" I stood up, pointing my finger at him- just about ready to slap him across the face.
"UGH, UGH, UGH!" He yelled.
"Well, you know what?!" I sat down again, "UGH!"
He looked at me offended, "How dare you!"
I smiled, "UGH."
He stood up, "Park Chaeyoung! I will throw you in the water!"
"UGH!" I yelled again,
His eyes were staring harshly into my soul.
I couldn't read his eyes; I just knew he wasn't angry. I couldn't put my finger on it.
"You asked for it." He whispered before walking out from the space in between his seat and the table, and walking around to meet my side.
"You wouldn't-" Before I could finish he picked me up in bridal style.
"Watch me," he answered with a smirk.
"OK, Jungkook. I get it. I'm sorry." I wined when he started heading for the lake, "I get the joke!"
"I'm a man of my word Chaeyoung." He chuckled.
We were now a few more steps to the dock.
"Jungkook!" I yelled, "Jungkook STOP!"
He laughed and dropped me right in the water.
"damn it!"
I started to kick myself to the top, "Jungkook! I-" A bunch of water fell into my mouth as my head went under again. My lungs started burning.
I managed to let out one last yell before the water ate me whole.
"JUNGKOOK!" I yelled, "I- can't swim!!"
