"Woah!" Jennie and I looked around the hotel room we were going to stay in together for the weekend.
"I heard there is a party tonight!" Jennie turned and looked over at me, excitedly.
"Jen! We only have two nights here, and you want to spend them partying?!"
It was my first ever school trip. Jennie has been for all three years, I haven't. That means she has already experienced everything, and I....haven't. I wanted to get up to date with everything I missed from the beginning of my first year of high school.
"But, Chae!" Jennie pouted, "The parties are fun!"
I shook my head, "Either we go do activities with me, or you go party."
I knew Jennie wouldn't go. She gets seasick very easily.
"You know what. Nevermind! Do what you want." I waved my hand as if shooing away the thought.
"Aw! Thanks, Chae!" Jennie hugged me, and then we began to unpack.
- - -
I looked around the land view when I exited the building.
"What can I do first?" I thought to myself out loud.
"We could go water skiing?"
I turned around to face the sudden voice behind me.
"Jungkook!" I ran and gave him a hug, "Thank goodness! I thought I would have to do everything alone and look like that one nerd who has no friends- not that I have any. Well, I have two, but Jennie is doing her own thing because she gets seasick, and I can't ask Tae because he went to a thing with Jen, and now I'm alone!" I took a deep breath and looked up at Jungkook as I leaned my chin on his chest, "Are you actually going to do activities with me?"
He giggled and unwrapped my arms from his waist, "Chill, Chae." He cupped my face making my cheeks squish, "I don't have much to do, so might as well spend the weekend with you."
And that's what we did.
We went horseback riding, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and so much more.
- - -
"What do you want for a late lunch?" Jungkook asked.
We were on our way to one of the restaurants after going fishing. I was feeling sad because we had to leave tomorrow morning.
"Uhm, I don't think I can have fish." My face shriveled up in disgust, "the smell is engraved in my nostrils."
"What about chip-"
"Jungkook?" A voice came from behind us.
We both turned around to see Tzuyu.
Oh no.
"Can we talk? Alone?" Tzuyu gave a subtle pout, making me want to throw her in the water.
"No." Jungkook answered, "If you have anything you want to say, you can tell me in front of Chaeyoung."
I softly grabbed his hand, "Jungkook, I don't mind." I whispered.
He looked down at me with a gentle gaze, "I do."
He turned to Tzuyu again, but this time with a harsh stare that I haven't seen before.
Tzuyu walked closer, "Alright, if you want to talk in front of your girlfriend, fine. Or should I say, fake girlfriend?"
Jungkooks tightened his grip on my hand, "What are you talking about?!"
"I know, Jungkook." She glared at me and then looked back at him, "You are just fake dating her because you want to make me jealous! I told you that the guy you saw me with that night was just a friend!"
"Then why were you to fucking kissing! Friends don't kiss!" He snapped back, "We have had this discussion before! I don't want to talk to you again! And I prefer you leave Chaeyoung out of our past relationship!"
"You're not dating! I know you aren't!" Tzuyu's jaw started to tighten as if she was doubting her own theory.
"I told you to leave Chaeyoung out of this." He told her through his teeth.
"Kiss her then." Tzuyu answered, "If you two are actually dating, kiss her."
I looked up at Jungkook. He wouldn't, would he?
He turned his attention to me and cupped my cheek with his left hand.
He wouldn't.
His eyes trailed down my face to my lips.
He wouldn't?
He slowly bent his head down and lightly placed his lips on mine.
He would.
He parted from my lips as quickly as he came and then turned to meet Tzuyu's horrified gaze.
"I'm over you, Tzuyu." He whispered angrily.
That's why he agreed. That's the whole reason he wanted to fake date. Because he still likes Tzuyu. The fact that I would wonder if he could possibly like me. He couldn't. Because his first love was Tzuyu. And she will always have a small piece of his heart.
I slowly backed away from Jungkook and got ready to run. Thousands of reasons why I didn't want to see him right now.
And that's what I did. I ran as fast as I could back to the hotel. I knew he was running after me, but I didn't want to hear it. His yells got cut off by the sound of the wind in my ears.
When I got to the room Jennie and I are sharing, I quickly closed the door and locked it.
"Chae." I heard him panting frantically, "Chaeyoung? Can we talk? Please?" He asked through pants, "I know. I know I fucked up! I broke our contract and your trust."
I slowly opened the door, only leaving a small gap. Jungkook looked up and quickly fixed his tired posture as he waited for me to say something.
"You stole my first kiss." I whispered, "You stole my first kiss from me, Jungkook."
His eyes widened, and his bottom lips started to quiver.
"I need time," I whispered again and stared at his blank face, "To sort through my feelings."
I could tell he had a whole dictionary of words he wanted to spit out, but he couldn't.
"Maybe you should too." I finished.
I closed the door slowly in front of his face without another word. My back slid against the door, and when my bum hit the floor I hugged my knees. It's something I loved to do when I was thinking.
He will wait.
I know he will wait.
Because I know Jungkook, and the Jungkook I know, will wait.
"Chaeyoungie!" Jennie waved her hand in the air when she noticed me enter the bus.
I walked over to her and sat down comfortably, "How was your weekend?" I asked, "I barely saw you because I went to bed before you."
She chuckled and rested her head on my shoulder, "It was amazing!" She answered, "But very tiring!" Her voice got softer with every word, and I could tell she was asleep.
"Oh, look! Here's my ride!" Jennie turned to me, "I will see you at school tomorrow Chae."
We just arrived at the bus stop where the parents came to collect their kids.
I nodded, "Wait? is your ride, Tae?" I asked.
Jennie grinned, "You can come with us if you want?"
I shook my head, "I already made plans for my dad to pick me up." I answered.
She pouted and then proceeded to walk over to Taehyung's car.
"Park Chaeyoung."
I looked to my side and noticed Jisoo and Lisa standing together.
"Yes?" I almost stuttered.
"Congrats!" Jisoo smiled widely at me, "We want you to join the cheerleading group? We decided on you."
My mouth shot open, "I- Thank you! Thank you so much!" I wanted to hug her, but that's not a good idea.
"Hm, see you at practice on Monday." Jisoo turned around and walked away.
"Good work!" Lisa smiled widely at me, "I can't wait to have someone as talented as you on the team." She tapped my shoulder and then walked away.
YES!
- - -
I know it's a Sunday night, but I couldn't help but watch a movie. It felt lonely. I've never watched a movie alone before. I always watch with Jennie or ... Jungkook. I will admit it, I miss him, but I had no idea how to say anything. I curled up smaller in my bed as if drowning myself in my covers. I wanted someone next to me.
I then heard something hit my window.
I slowly got up and opened my curtains. Crap! I opened my window.
"What are you doing?!" I shout-whispered to Jungkook.
He grinned at the sight of me, "If I ring the doorbell, then I'll wake your parents and your crazy brother." He answered.
"Jimin's not here, only my dad is, but he's asleep," I told him.
"Great! Then come to the door, so I don't have to yell in a whisper."
I rolled my eyes and put on my zip-up hoodie. Wrapping the unzipped parts around my waist as if hugging myself, I walked down to the front door. When I opened it, Jungkook looked about ready to cry.
"Jungkook?" I asked.
He fell to his knees, "I'm going to sound crazy, but hear me out. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to steal your first kiss, I didn't mean to break your trust in me, you don't have to forgive me, you don't have to act as if nothing happened, but please, just reassure me that you don't hate me!" He took a deep stuttery breath in, "Because I could never live my life knowing that you hate me for taking something special away from you. I know sorry doesn't fix anything, but please, don't..." He sighed deeply, "Don't hate me, Park Chaeyoung."
The whole time I was just frozen in place, speechless.
I unwrapped my arms and cupped his face with both of my ice-cold hands, "I could never hate you, Jeon Jungkook." I answered in almost a chuckle.
His eyes finally met mine, with a sparkle from his tears.
"You...Don't?" He asked.
I shook my head
I bent down to meet his face, "I was hurt. I was hurt when you kissed me. I was hurt when you broke our contract, but the one thing I was mostly hurt about..." I looked down at the ground, "Was the possibility you still loved Tzuyu."
The words felt heavy on my tongue.
"Tzuyu?" He asked. His big, warm hands covered mine- that were still on his cheeks, "Chae, I was angry and made a dumb move at the moment. I just wanted her to leave- I didn't want to prove her wrong because I wanted to hurt her. She doesn't like me- she likes the attention." He studied my face for a few seconds, "I... I like you."
My heart started beating faster than rabbits, and my hands slowly fell from his face. He, what?!
"Jungkook," I whispered.
It was all I could say.
He unhurriedly stood up, dragging me with him.
"Do you... Like me too?" He asked softly.
I nodded gradually. He knew me well.
The corners of his mouth lifted, revealing his beautiful smile. He pulled me into a hug, "That's all I need to know." he whispered in my ear.
I hugged him back, enjoying every second.
"I'm watching a movie." I broke the long silence.
He drew out from the hug and stared at my eyes, only my eyes.
"Where?"
"I have a TV in my bedroom," I answered shyly.
He nodded, and we closed the door and walked upstairs, trying not to wake my dad up.
- - -
"So, now where does our relationship lie?" Jungkook asked as he took a sip of his hot chocolate.
We were comfortably under the covers and watching a movie after I made him a hot chocolate.
"I guess we're actually dating?" I answered and took another sip of my own hot chocolate without my eyes leaving the TV screen.
He bit his lower lip, "Then there is no contract?"
I nodded slowly.
"But we can still keep a few rules?" I answered.
He made his thinking face, "Like rule number 1, and 2 and 4." He turned and looked at me- I was still watching the TV, "But rule number 3 can go." He whispered.
I nodded- still looking at the TV. And then I realized what he said. My head turned to meet his eyes that were already watching me. My heart was beating louder than a drum.
"And, you know, it wasn't just your first kiss. That's why my ex told me to kiss you, because she and I never shared a kiss."
I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"It was my first kiss too." He finished.
Now I'm sure my heart was beating loud enough for him to hear. But I was speechless.
"Technically!" He pointed his finger at the roof, still not leaving our eye contact, "It doesn't really count as a first kiss because it was only for a second."
I couldn't take it anymore, "Get to the point, Jungkook." I whispered.
He smiled and cupped my cheek with his one hand, "May I kiss you Park Chaeyoung?"
When I gave a subtle nod he leaned in brushing our lips together.
"I love you, Chae." He whispered before placing his lips on mine.
He didn't let me process the fact that he just admitted his love for me, but I kissed back anyway.
He tasted like hot chocolate and before I knew it he slid his tongue in and was pushing me down on the bed.
I managed to pull back, "Wait. What did you just say?"
He was hovering over me with his face still close to mine, "I love you."
I shook my head in disbelief.
"I love you." He repeated, "I love you!"
He kept saying it over and over as he places kisses all over my face.
I giggled, "Stop! It's ticklish!"
He pulled away and looked back into my eyes, "How was your fist kiss?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes, "Amazing!"
We lay back down on the bed and cuddled while we finished the movie together. He also accidentally slept over. Luckily my mom was still on her work trip!
I loved him too. Who knew a fake relationship would turn out like this? (Oh well only every high school movie ever!) But I didn't mind, because he was mine now, and we're happy together.
And I will never forget how it all started with him being my fake boyfriend.
"I heard there is a party tonight!" Jennie turned and looked over at me, excitedly.
"Jen! We only have two nights here, and you want to spend them partying?!"
