Chaeyoung almost spat out the huge slurp of her milk, "You're what?!"
Her mom looked at her with pity, "I'm just really happy with him," She stretched her arm out on the kitchen table to squeeze her daughter's hand, "It has been three years that he and I have been dating. It's not my fault that you never wanted to visit him every time I went over to him."
A knot formed in Chaeyoung's stomach. Her mother was all she's ever had. She didn't need a dad, and she didn't want one! Especially the fact that she would be stuck with his son, UGH.
"But still. Marriage?!" Her head tilted up to meet eyes with her mother, "His son and I barely know each other!"
Her mother bit her bottom lip, "We will have a private marriage. Not even you or Jungkook will be there." She sighed, "Him and Jungkook are moving in next week, I do hope you two can just get along,"
Jungkook?! NEVER! She only ever met Jungkook once, for 20 minutes, two years ago, and she hated him. Fine, she was only 17, but that's not the point! She won't talk to him. Not a second. Not even look at him.
"Ohhhh, he's cute!" Chaeyoung whispered to herself as she watched one of the men carrying her soon-to-be brother and father-in-law's boxes into the house. She watched as his veins popped and his muscles bulged. She loved how he bit his lower lip whenever he picked up something heavy.
"Let's flirt a little." She smirked when he walked to the truck to get a new box.
"Hey!" Chaeyoung grinned and leaned her shoulder on the side of the truck with her arms crossed, "You look like you can't carry that." She gave a small pout and then looked down at the big box in front of him.
"Really?" He raised his eyebrows at her, "I take it you can then?" He asked sarcastically.
"N-No, that's not what I meant." She pulled her body off of the truck in fear, "I meant we can take it together."
His face looked even more confused now, but she loved to confuse the men she was interested in.
"Now, how would we do that?" A smirk tugged at his lips turning her on even more.
He took the one side, and she took the other as they walked inside and up the stairs. When they placed the box inside an empty room they began to walk down the stairs.
"So tell me about yourself," Chaeyoung asked breathlessly.
"Jungkook."
Chaeyoung looked up and noticed her father-in-law at the bottom of the stairs watching her and Mr. Hot guy walk down.
"That was my last box, father." Jungkook smiled at his dad.
"Wait- You're," Chaeyoung pointed to Jungkook and then his father. Jungkook bit half of his lower lip, trying to hold in his laugh. She is just as clueless.
She was done with life. It's been three days and all she has done is avoid them. As usual, Chaeyoung was laying down on her stomach on her bed, blasting music in her ears while coloring. It calmed her.
"Chaeyoung!"
She looked up to see Jungkook leaning on the side of her door frame.
"What now?!" She wailed as she took out her earphones.
"What do you mean 'what now' I never talk to you!" He scowled back, "Get up. Your mom wants you to join us for dinner." He walked away, leaving her door open.
"How is school going?" Hyun Bin asked.
"I'm done with school. I'm taking a gap year before starting University." Chaeyoung rolled her eyes.
"Oh, I forgot. Jungkook's doing the same." He smiled at her, "You know if you want you can just call me dad."
Chaeyoung rolled her eyes again, "I'm good, thank you, Hyun Bin."
She noticed Jungkooks glare in the corner of her eye, but she didn't care. He was still the typical good boy that stuck up for his father.
"Chaeyoung! Go to your room!" Her mother scolded.
"Oop." Chaeyoung got up off her chair, "Great idea, I was just about to do that." She smiled scornfully and headed for the stairs.
"I'm Jungkook." 17-year-old Jungkook held out his hand.
Chaeyoung furrowed her brows at him, "I didn't ask."
Jungkook pulled down his hand in embarrassment.
"Why don't you two go play?" Son Ye-jin smiled at them.
"Mom," Chaeyoung stared at her mother, disappointed, "What even?"
"How long has your mom been single?" Jungkook asked.
They were both sitting on the swings, not saying a word until Jungkook broke the silence with his question.
"She's never married." She answered, "I've never had a father, and my mom had to work her ass off to get as high as she is right now in her career!" She glared over at Jungkook, "We're not siblings, and we'll never be! So get your gold-digging father away from my mother."
Jungkooks eyes widened, "My father is not in for any sort of money. He's successful on his own in case you haven't noticed!"
"Yeah, sure!" She got off the swing and made harsh eye contact with him, "Don't even consider us acquaintances. We're strangers, and that's all we'll ever be!"
"What now!" Chaeyoung looked up from her coloring book, annoyed to see Jungkook at her door once again. He looked cute with his baggy top and his hands in his sweatpants pockets.
"Leave!" She said angrily.
He just kept staring at her.
"Close my door!" She wined.
Jungkook turned around and closed the door after taking a step inside her room.
"Uh, close the door with you outside! Outside!" She yelled.
"Damn, you're just as moody and annoying as I remember," He replied with a grin.
She rolled her eyes and began to color again.
"That's pretty."
Chaeyoung looked to her side to see him standing and watching her color. He was closer than she could process.
"Get. Out!"
He smiled and leaned down to meet her face with his, "No. There's nothing you can do about it."
She glared at him and tossed her pencil down, "What do you want?!"
His face dropped, "Stop disrespecting my father. I dealt with your shit that one day, but now we live together, so just suck it up!"
She stuck her tongue out, "No. You can't do anything about it."
"You don't want to know," He answered as his eyes traveled down her face to briefly glance at her lips.
"That's what every coward says," She whispered with a smile, "You wouldn't do anything-"
She was cut off by the sound and feel of a pillow hitting her back.
"Did you just..." She picked up a pillow and hit him on his shoulder.
He looked at her with a glare, "Two can play that game!"
They began hitting each other, letting out laughs, yells, and screams.
"Sounds like their getting along." Son Ye-jin smiled at her new husband.
"That's good." Hyun Bin nodded.
The couple walked away from the door to give their kids some privacy.
"Ha," Jungkook let out a loud sigh as he fell on his back to the ground.
Chaeyoung lay down next to him as they stared at her ceiling.
"You got a weak arm," Jungkook commented.
She felt very offended, "Oh yeah?!" She sat up and threw he leg over him and hovered over his tummy, "How's this for weak!"
She hit her pillow at his face, but he caught it with his right arm, "You're playing one dangerous game Chaeyoung."
"And what might you do about it?!" She let go of the pillow to hit him with a new one, but he held her wrist tightly, "You have some major anger issues."
"I know!" She answered as she struggled to get out of his grip, "Coloring helps ease me, but you insisted on annoying me!"
He rolled his eyes and tugged at her hands, "You talk too much."
She grinned even though their noses were almost touching, "And what are you gonna do about it?" She whispered
"I suggest you keep quiet." He whispered back.
"And what if I don't want to?" Her whisper got even softer, "There you go again with your bark but no bite-"
His head turned up and placed his lips on hers, but it wasn't soft, it was hard. Almost as if he was letting out all his anger on a mere kiss.
"Stop!" She pulled away from him after she realized she was enjoying it, "EW!" She slapped his face and got off of him.
He began to laugh, "There, that's what I'll do." He was pleased he finally found something to annoy her.
"That would be considered sexual harassment!" She pointed her finger at Jungkook, who was now sitting up from the floor.
He walked over to her, making her walk backward until she hit her desk. She picked up her Math book to cover her face from his. for once in her life she really appreciated Math.
"Not if you liked it." He whispered in her ear and then left.
For the past four days, Chaeyoung and Jungkook haven't said a word to each other. Although on the third day, they have gotten into the habit of saying 'good morning' and 'good night' to each other.
That's a start.
Chaeyoung rolled out of bed and quickly fixed her hair in the mirror after brushing her teeth. She has been waking up early recently, not because Jungkook woke up early, and she couldn't wait for a good morning from him or anything. No. It just... it felt healthier.
She walked down to the kitchen and felt a rush of disappointment when Jungkook wasn't cooking something at the stove. She grabbed the milk container out of the fridge and opened the lid to fountain some into her mouth.
"Chaegy."
Chaeyoung turned around to see her mother, and father-in-law sitting next to each other at the kitchen table with Jungkook sitting in front of them.
She felt a few small coughs escape her mouth, "Hm?"
"You really still do that? I thought I told you to stop!" Her mother moaned.
"Oh," Chaeyoung looked down at the milk, and back at her now bigger family, "I- Uhm. Sorry." She whispered before closing the lid and placing the container back into the fridge.
"We just want to have a quick family discussion." Hyun Bin smiled.
Chaeyoung nodded and walked over to sit next to Jungkook. She felt a weird flutter in her stomach.
"S-so soon?" Chaeyoung felt a knot in her stomach when the parents told her and Jungkook that they will be leaving for their honeymoon the next week.
"We will only be a week or two away." Son Ye-jin answered her daughter's unasked question.
Hyun Bin nodded, "We also feel you two need some time to get to know each other better. Alone."
Now she felt worse. Alone? With Jungkook? The man she has been living with for a week but wanted something more?
"What am I gonna eat?!" Chaeyoung tried her luck to somehow get them to stay.
Hyun Bin smiled, "Jungkook can cook. It's fine it's only a week or two. It's not like you'll kill each other."
This wouldn't turn out well.
But there was nothing she can do.
"So what are we going to eat?" Chaeyoung asked Jungkook when she got to the bottom of the stairs.
"I don't know. I can't cook." Jungkook answered from the couch as he stared at Chaeyoung after putting his phone down.
It was the first night they would be alone at the house without their parents.
"You're father said you could cook?" Chaeyoung glared at him.
"He lied," Jungkook stated with a sneaky grin.
She rolled her eyes, "I'm calling for sushi."
He bit his lower lip, "Sure."
"I wasn't asking if you agreed, I was thinking out loud!" She stuck her tongue out at him, "You don't have a choice, just like I didn't have a choice when you kissed me!"
"You're still thinking about that?" He asked with a chuckle, "I honestly forgot."
She felt a small pain in her chest, "W-Well, no! I forgot, I only remembered now!"
He raised an eyebrow at her and stood up from the couch to stand in front of her, "Really? I think it was all that was on your mind for the past week."
Chaeyoung felt her jaw tighten, "YAH! I COULD KISS YOU 1000 TIMES AND NOT REMEMBER A THING!"
He chuckled, causing her tummy to turn, "Why are you getting so worked up?" He leaned forward to get closer to her face just to tease her even more, "I don't believe you."
She sent her order to the sushi place before tossing her phone to the coffee table, "I'll prove it then. We kiss now and whoever is the first to mention it tomorrow is the loser."
He grinned, "Deal."
With that, they crashed into each other. Their lips moved together slowly at first, but then the two got carried away in their craving. Chaeyoung felt his hand slid under her shirt to rub her bare back up and down at a slow speed- unlike the kiss. It made her go insane. She grabbed at his hair and leaned backward, causing them to move to the couch. He shifted for her to be on top. She now felt his hand go lower from her back making its way to her...
"The sushi!" Chaeyoung pulled away from the kiss and hopped off of Jungkook when she heard the doorbell ring.
He let out a huff of disappointment.
Chaeyoung fixed her hair and opened the door, "Hey!" She smiled at the deliverer.
The man with the sushi looked at Chaeyoung's swollen lips to her messy hair and crinkled up shirt, "Ah, here." He handed the bag.
When she noticed his slightly disgusted expression, she smiled, "No, I woke up from a nap-"
"OoOoOoOoO," Jungkook appeared from behind her, with his hand rubbing at her back once again, "This will make you taste ten times better."
Chaeyoung stared at Jungkook with huge eyes and turned to face the delivery man, "Ah, haha. He's not my boyfriend."
He nodded, "Don't worry, I also have friends with benefits relationship."
"Oh, OKAY!" Jungkook yelled as he handed the money, "Thank you for the food." He gave a quick grin and closed the door.
"Oh, it smells so good!" Jungkook moaned as he watched Chaeyoung walk with the bags to the couch. He wondered how she would taste if he kissed her after they ate, "We can eat this for supper and I'll eat you for dessert." He wiggled his eyebrows at her with his bunny-like grin.
"Why did you say that!" She turned around with an annoyed expression, "My mom and I order sushi from there once a week! I see that guy once a month!"
Jungkook chuckled, "My bad."
They began eating, and when they finished both of them wanted to feel each other again but didn't know how to start it.
"I-I'm going to go to sleep." She stood up and walked up the stairs. She got halfway before walking back down again, "Just so you know- for future purposes. In case you want to know how to satisfy someone when kissing." She bit her lower lip, "The thing...Where you rubbed my back...It's nice." She ran upstairs again.
"Alright. I will keep that in mind." He answered with his lips pursed.
But she found herself coming down again, "And when you went lower...That was nice too." she went back upstairs when he nodded.
"Oh and-"
"Alright, Chae! Good night!" He got up from the couch, "What? Must I tuck you in?"
She scowled at him, "NO!"
He followed quietly after her when she started walking back up the stairs.
"And also-" She was cut off when her body hit his chest, "Oh."
Jungkook smirked, "What lip balm do you use?"
She felt her heart stop, "Why?"
"It's nice. Maybe if I use it, then all the random makeouts I have with women will taste like that. So what's the flavor?"
Chaeyoung bit her lower lip, "You will have to kiss me again to figure out the flavor then." She turned around and did a brisk jog up the stairs.
He found himself laughing at her as he watched her disappear behind her room door.
It's been 20 minutes since Jungkook has been in the shower. Why didn't he just shower before dinner?! Chaeyoung felt herself going crazy, wanting to feel his touch again. She sat up straight on her bed when she heard a knock on the door and quickly put on more of her lip balm.
"Come in!" She cleared her throat when her words came out with a crack in her voice.
Jungkook opened the door revealing his bare chest with a mere towel around his waist. She felt her stomach jolt when she noticed his chest was still a little wet from his shower, along with his hair, which would be dripping on the floor if it wasn't for him trying to dry it with another towel.
"I wanted to know if you guys have a hairdryer?" He looked around the room and then made eye contact with her, "Mine's somewhere in the box I still haven't unpacked."
Chaeyoung nodded and got off her bed to pull out her hairdryer, "You bring it back, and you bring it back in one piece!" She scolded.
Jungkook smirked at her stern face, "And what if I don't?"
She narrowed her eyes to try and show how serious she was, "Then you will never get to know the taste of my lip balm."
"Oh?" Jungkook raised his eyebrows, but on the inside, he was telling himself to treat the hairdryer as if it was his own child.
He walked out to dry his hair while Chaeyoung sat back down on her bed and began to color again. She heard the knock on the door again a few minutes later, and doused herself with her lip balm once more, "Come."
When Jungkook opened she began slapping her lips together to try and get his attention to them.
"Where do I put it?" He held up the hairdryer.
Chaeyoung got up and bit her lower lip. It worked! His eyes trailed down to her lips for a second before he looked back at her eyes.
"Here." She took the hairdryer from him and placed it on her desk, "I guess..." She puckered up her lips to try and look like she was thinking, but she just wanted him to want to kiss her, "You're going to sleep now?"
Jungkook nodded before taking one last glance at her lips and then leaving.
"Ugh!" She sighed when he left, "Why won't he just kiss me?!" She sat back down on her bed and stared into space as she was reminded of everything. His lips moving on hers. His tongue exploring her mouth. His hand making its way down her back and gently...
Her thoughts got cut off when he knocked again. She told him to come in and he opened the door.
"You know what, forget everything!" Chaeyoung had enough, "I like you, and I don't care about our deal/bet thingy! So just fucking kiss me already because my mind is going INSANE!" She looked up to meet his eyes.
"I did come to kiss you." He answered with a chuckle, "In fact, I came to do more than that if you'll allow me to?"
Her eyes widened, "Damn, then fucking do it already-"
She got cut off when he slammed his lips on hers. He closed her room door with a push of his foot before sliding his tongue into the kiss, desperate to taste her again.
Chaeyoung's arms moved to link around his neck, "Hmmm" She hummed in his mouth when his hands slid around her waist.
Jungkook pulled away now with their lips only brushing against each other, "You liked this, right?" His right hand slid lower down her back to cup her butt.
She grinned when he began to trail kisses down her neck, "Yes. I like it a...a lot." She stuttered on her words when he lifted her up and lay her down on her bed.
"Tell me when you want to stop." He whispered in her ear as his body hovered over hers.
Chaeyoung giggled, "No. You tell me when you want to stop."
He lifted his face and raised his eyebrows at her, "Oh?" He stared straight into her eyes as his hand slid down the side of her body and stopped at her thigh, "It's on!"
"Jungkook?" Chaeyoung's soft whisper caused his eyes to open.
"Hmm?" He slid his arm over the side of her body as he enjoyed her fingers fiddling with his hair.
The two were lying naked on their sides and facing each other in Chaeyoungs bed. It felt too fast for both of them. Everything was just happening.
"What are we going to tell our parents?" Her eyes examined his face, "We might just ruin their relationship by exposing ours. And then what? Then they divorce, we take separate ways, I never see you again and the universe decides we never meet again. And then- Hmmm"
Jungkook kissed her long and hard before pulling away, "I keep telling you, you talk too much."
She kept her eyes shut and leaned her forehead against the bridge of his nose, "I'm serious. How are we going to tell them?"
"Easy. We won't."
Chaeyoung's head lifted up to meet his eyes, "We can't do that!"
Jungkook wrapped his arms around her to pull her closer, "We have one more year with them. That's all. Then we get to go to university." He gave her a peck on the tip of her nose, "We can tell them when we have our own income from our own jobs. How does that sound?"
She pursed her lips together, "I don't know how long I will be able to lie to my mom."
"Shhh." Jungkook began to stroke her hair softly, "I feel the same with my dad. But it's not long. They are mostly busy anyway."
She felt comfortable and safe in his arms. Chaeyoung cuddled closer to him and buried her face in his chest. She had peace within her when his argument made sense.
"I hope you two have been getting along?" Hyun Bin asked when he and his wife placed their luggage in their room.
"Oh, we're like best friends now!" Jungkook smiled at his father and paid a quick glance at his girlfriend.
Chaeyoung smiled shyly, "We got pretty close."
Son Ye-jin looked up from her big suitcase, "That's great Chae!" She side-hugged Chaeyoung with a proud smile, "Who's up for sushi?!"
"Me!" Hyun Bin lifted his hand in the air like a little kid.
The couple went downstairs to order.
"My bed is more comfortable." Chaeyoung moaned when she was sure their parents couldn't hear.
"Mine has better bedding!" Jungkook argued.
She crossed her arms, "I have more pillows!"
He frowned, "Doesn't change the fact that my bed is more bouncy so when we fuck it feels better and I actually get a-"
Chaeyoung covered his mouth with both her hands, "You asshole! Fine! You win! We will take your bed to university!"
"Chaeyoung! Jungkook! Come order."
She turned around at the sound of her mother calling, "Coming mom!"
Chaeyoung glared at Jungkook before they walked down stairs.
