"Where's Jade? Where's my daughter?!"
Gregory grabbed the nurse's shoulders, shaking her desperately. "What's happened to my daughter?"
"Sir, please calm down! You're Ms. Reynolds' father, correct?" The nurse offered a reassuring smile. "Fortunately, your daughter has type O blood, and our blood bank is well-stocked. She'll be fine."
Gregory released his grip, momentarily relieved—then suddenly froze as realization dawned.
Both he and Victoria had AB blood type. How could Jade possibly be type O?!
Gregory's pupils contracted as his face turned ashen. He snatched the medical chart from the nurse's hands.
[Jade Reynolds, Blood Type: O]
The daughter he'd raised for over twenty years wasn't his biological child. His head spun as he struggled to process this revelation.
"I want a paternity test. NOW!"
An hour later, Gregory's hands trembled as he held the thin sheet of paper, his body crumpling as he sank to the floor.
Jade wasn't his biological daughter!
He had protected Victoria and Jade for more than two decades, only to discover his entire life was a joke?!
Gregory clenched his jaw, rage finally bursting through his restraint.
"Victoria, I'll destroy you for this!"
Meanwhile, the object of his hatred was leisurely painting her nails at home when the door suddenly burst open, startling her.
Gregory stood in the doorway, his imposing figure casting a terrifying shadow.
Victoria trembled slightly. "Darling... what's wrong?"
"You dare ask me what's wrong?"
Gregory stormed forward, violently flipping both Victoria and her chair onto the floor.
He yanked her up by the collar, his voice venomous. "Who is Jade's real father? Tell me NOW!"
"Darling, let me explain!"
Victoria's blood ran cold as she frantically tried to defend herself, only to be silenced by the paternity test results slammed into her face.
Faced with irrefutable evidence, Victoria had nowhere to hide.
As if enraged by her own shame, Victoria defiantly met Gregory's furious gaze.
"Yes! Jade isn't your daughter! You deserve this! When you're happy, you treat me well. When you're not, you beat me. If I found comfort with another man, it's because YOU drove me to it!"
"You whore!" Gregory struck her across the face, his body radiating murderous rage.
Not satisfied, Gregory's eyes swept across the table until they landed on a fruit knife, which he seized and drove toward Victoria's face.
"AHHH! MY FACE—!"
Victoria's piercing scream filled the air as the blade carved a gruesome gash across her once-perfect features, splitting flesh wide open!
Gregory's fury continued to build as he revealed a cold smile.
"You love sleeping around? Then I'll find some men to teach you a lesson!"
Victoria's body trembled violently as terror finally gripped her.
Her pleas of "no" were ignored as Gregory threw her like a rag doll into the basement.
Jade regained consciousness two days later.
Unable to shake a profound sense of dread, she slipped out of the hospital against medical advice and returned home.
The scene of devastation that greeted her froze her in place—overturned furniture, broken decorations, and blood spatters across the floor.
"Mom... Dad..." Jade called out tearfully. "Where are you?!"
The door creaked open, causing Jade to scream in terror. She whirled around to find the family housekeeper.
The woman's face was etched with worry. "Miss Jade, you're back. Please go to the hospital right away—your parents have been in an incident."
Jade's extremities turned ice-cold as she weakly grabbed the housekeeper, demanding to know what happened.
"Yesterday, your father had a terrible fight with your mother. He brought several men who... And last night they fought again. Your mother was severely beaten, and your father suffered a stroke from extreme emotional distress."
Jade's legs gave out beneath her as she collapsed to the floor.
Her eyes scanned the ground, suddenly catching sight of a paternity test report.
After reading it, Jade's entire body shook uncontrollably, her face ashen with shock.
"I'm not Dad's biological daughter? That's impossible..."
Jade scrambled to her feet and staggered toward the door.
With Charlie being charged and the case reopened, she knew she was deeply implicated.
She needed protection, or she'd spend the rest of her life in prison!
She took a taxi to Liam's apartment and pounded frantically on his door.
"Liam! LIAM! Open this door right now!"
Liam, wearing a bathrobe, lazily opened the door. Upon seeing Jade, his face immediately twisted with disgust.
"What are you doing here?"
Jade was a mess—sweat-soaked, tear-streaked, her hair in complete disarray, resembling a madwoman.
"Liam, you have to help me! You were involved in what happened three years ago too! If Marlow successfully reopens the case, neither of us will escape!" She clutched desperately at his arm.
Liam shook her off with an dismissive click of his tongue.
"What's the rush? Do you really think she can reopen the case? Don't fall apart at the first sign of trouble."
Just as Jade was about to respond, her phone chimed with a notification.
Marlow had sent her an audio file. Initially suspicious, Jade played it, instantly shaking with rage as she listened.
—"I was set up. That bitch Jade drugged me and seduced me!"
Liam's words from the bar now echoed clearly in Jade's ears.
Her expression contorted with fury, her eyes reflecting unhinged madness. "You've been conspiring with Marlow, haven't you? You're working together against me, aren't you?!"
Terrified by her deranged appearance, Liam cursed her as "psychotic" and tried to close the door. But Jade wouldn't let him escape so easily. She lunged at him in a frenzy, her hands closing around his throat.
"Die! Die! Everyone just DIE!"
"Ugh..."
Liam instinctively fought back. In the chaos, his hands tightened around Jade's neck. He didn't realize how much force he was using until he came to his senses and found Jade completely still...
Liam's face drained of color as he hurriedly pushed Jade away.
She lay motionless on the floor, eyes bulging as they stared accusingly at him. She had stopped breathing.
Liam stared at his trembling hands in disbelief, cold sweat soaking his back.
"I killed her... I killed someone..." He pulled at his hair frantically. "No one can know about this..."
He dragged Jade's body inside and folded it to fit into his refrigerator.
But those accusing, hate-filled eyes continued to stare at him, as if demanding retribution.
Liam could no longer withstand the crushing fear and psychological collapse. He fell to his knees, letting out a bone-chilling scream of pure terror.
