I'd been out of the company for a month, and guess what?
Three of our big partnership deals didn't get renewed.
Why only three? Because the rest weren't up yet.
Before, I was the one who handled all those deals.
Without me, once contracts expired, the partners just sat on the fence, not wanting to sign anything new.
So of course, Jace came crawling back.
But this time, he wasn't asking for a favor—he wanted to buy out my shares.
All three partners decided not to renew, and Jace stubbornly blamed me, thinking I was sabotaging the whole thing behind his back.
He's always had this massive ego, convinced that if things go south, it's ‘cause I'm messing with him.
Like, please.
Honestly, I should've seen it coming.
I looked at him like he was dumb as a rock and said, "You and Blaire? Yeah, you two are a perfect match—dog and pig."
If it weren't for the shares, I wouldn't have even seen his face.
Every meeting with him made me sick for days.
Talking to him felt like my brain was shrinking.
Total dumbass contagion.
He shot me an annoyed look and said, "Name your price. Cash and done. We're over."
That actually caught my attention.
Looks like Blaire's finally doing me a solid.
Honestly, Jace wanting to buy my shares?
Perfect. I was ready to get rid of them.
First off, I didn't want any more ties to him. Just gross.
Second, I knew exactly what kind of mess the company would be under with him running things. It was gonna go downhill fast.
The sooner I got out, the better—and at least I'd get some cash back.
Jace was desperate too.
Deals kept falling apart, and he was dead set on blaming me for all of it.
Wanted me out yesterday.
And don't even get me started on Blaire.
Her mood swings have been crazy ever since she got pregnant.
Tatum said Blaire's been showing up at the office all the time, scared I'd run into Jace and stir stuff up.
A couple days ago, Blaire got so worked up she had to be rushed to the hospital for bed rest.
Gotta hand it to her, the girl's got survival instincts like a pro homewrecker.
So considering everything, I raised my price—double the market value.
Jace haggled for a while but finally bit the bullet.
From his side, if he didn't agree, more deals would fall through, thanks to me.
Funny how it all worked out.
In the end, I cut all ties with Jace and walked away from the company with a fat paycheck.
