I walked hand in hand with Chloe as we exited her car . And I had to admit since her breakup with Henry ,two weeks ago we'd gotten pretty close.
And by close I mean I hadn't yet told her about what was really happening between Carter and I. I was so comic. Speaking of Carter I had not yet spoken to him since our last argument.
"Hi" came a hoarse voice out of nowhere making both Chloe and I look back stopping in our tracks as her red hair whipped my face.
We turned our heads , and behold a really good looking boy stared back at us. Seriously , did the British carve their own men because such perfection was so rare.
"Hello" we said in unison.
"Can I talk to you?" He asked looking at me which I only saw after looking behind me several times just to make sure his eyes were not playing a mind trick on me.
"Ummm..." I contemplated on what to say. Then Chloe pinched me and whispered " Go talk to the hot guy yolo" and I laughed
"Sure" I said as Chlo left us.
"My name is James" but I didnt ask for your name JAMES.
"Im Oliver and can you please make it fast I have somewhere to go" I'm not rude this stranger was just taking too long to speak I had a work shift in ten minutes.
"I usually see you in the library and you're usually there three times and you always have the best picks and your smile when you read is jus.."
"Please stop mumbling and get to the point" I finally snapped.
"Okay fine do you mind going out for coffee sometime?" He asked with an irresistible smile though not as irresistible as Carter's it still had an effect.
And just as I was about to speak.
"No" said Carter out of thin air as he placed his hand on my back and that's all it took for chills to run down my spine.
"Sure I'd love to" I grinned at the stranger removing Carter's hand from my back.
"I apologise" Carter said sincerely looking at the boy who had just asked me out " I really apologise but you see my girlfriend here makes rash decisions sometimes so please forgive her and move along as you can see she's taken" and that statement alone froze me .
I stood there rooted to the ground like a germinating onion as shock waves passed through my body. Girlfriend?he called me his girlfriend huh?.
And before I could protest the boy walked away. I was still in shock.
"You called me your girlfriend!" I yelled
"Are you not ?" He asked calmly holding me under his intense gaze making me blush and look aside.
"No no I am not.Your girlfriend is Payton" I fought back remembering the girl.
"You never really told me about her what's she like?" He asked amused.
"I'm sure you know her"
"I am positively sure I dont"
"Blonde , bimbo, blue eyes , bitchy , you still don't know her?"
"Wait she's blonde and she has blue eyes ? By chance do you have her number?" He asked with a naughty grin.
"You sad jerk" I said annoyed walking away.
"My jealous girlfriend" he smirked following after me. "I didnt know you had it in you to be jealous"
"I'm not jealous you're just confused" I rolled my eyes.
"If you say so beautiful" he winked .
That flirt.
"I still dont like you" I said
"your words wound me" he replied putting his hand on his heart with a sad face.
"Handsome jerk" I whispered.
"I heard that" he smiled and walked into the pub. My shift began any second from now.

"Fuck you" I said raising my voice
"Now or later?" He asked dragging me from my seat back to his car quickly passing through the endless crowd.
We were two sworn enemies watchung a baseball game supporting different teams. Something bad was bound to occur.
"I wanna go home" I cried

"This is childish" he said sitting back in his seat relaxing.
"Hey quick question" I asked

"Would you like to make out?" I suggested bored and tired of denying my attraction towards him.
"I thought you'd never ask" he smiled pressing his lips to mine.
And from there chemistry ignited.

"I just I dont know Chlo , sometimes I just really like him and it's not because his face brings a different meaning to beauty" I breathed " and sometimes I just want to kill him or wish he disappears" I finished .
So I finally told Chloe the truth.
"You guys just love each other so much" she smiled.
"If this is you trying to be funny change your schedule I'm serious"
"Here's my verdict, you like each other"
"Chloe that much is obvious but what else is it normal to like and hate at the same time this is not a light switch I cant stick to on and off constantly "
I explained
"So he gets on your nerves?" She asked.
"More than you do" I snickered
"So you're still in denial?"
"Chloe I'm not in denial I just hate him as much as i like him"
"It simply means that you guys are going to make a great couple"

"I'm serious one day you'll have cute babies hes hot you're hot too you'll have smoking kids" she laughed and I couldnt help but join her, that dreamer.
"Remind me how we're related?" I asked bored.
"Our parents are cousins" she rubbed the unfortunate information in my face.

I stared back at Carter as he looked at me intently.
"Its just a short drive" he assured as I got into his car.
he handed me a pair of sunglasses as a familiar song played on his car radio and me being the talented musician I am began to sing along.

I screamed at the top of my lungs trying to match with the song and believe it or not Carter joined me. His hair was being ruffled by the wind which blew my breathe away how can anyone be that hot.
"Take a picture it'll last longer" he cockily remarked flashing me mind breaking smile.
"How far are we from this special place?" I asked .
On a beautiful friday morning Carter decided to come and kidnap me from my studio to some special place he didnt want to tell me.
"Just sleep princess" he replied annoyed.
"You just used a form of endearment?" I said more like asked
"And you're blushing" he smiled.
Just like that I drifted off to sleep.
"Wake up" said a deep voice as my hair was tugged. Why freaking why???
"What?" I asked rudely, rubbing my eyes.
"Are you always this grumpy or it just happens after you take a nap?" He asked
"I dont know ask the dense boy who tugged my hair" I eyed him accusingly.
"Come I will give you a back ride" he offered as I climbed his back.
"You're so muscular" I commented.
"And you're so skinny" he just had to say.
"But atleast I have nice hair, nice eyes and a nice nose" I commented myself.
"Brace yourself princess , girls are not supposed to be cocky" he grumbled which shut me up after I sighed.
We walked into a full Wimpy and Carter managed to order after explaining to two old ladies how I was his tired betrothed who couldn't walk and the women even blessed us because apparently 'newly weds need luck' their words not mine.
We walked out as He held one mega sized pineapple juice and a beef tripple cheese burger.
We shared the burger and the juice using two straws.
"Darn it...You are eating too fast slow down" he complained.
"It's not my fault you chose to buy a single burger for the two of us"
"I thought it would be adorable the outcome is not pleasing I am famished and you are eating like a maniac"
"Mmmmm..." I muttered eating up the burger as he spoke.
"Do not bite that" he yelled looking at the last corner of the burger.
I ignored him instead and ate it all up.
I wiped my hands using the servets as he looked hungry and equally angry.
"I'll go buy another one" I said standing up.
"Use my card" he said handing me his card.
"I'm an independent woman I'll use my own money"
"I hate to break it to you but you are not a woman Oliver."
"Whatever I'm still using my money"
"Just use the card" he yelled and I took it stubbornly.
Angrily I ordered another burger using MY money.
I walked back to him still angry and handed him the burger ,throwing his card in his face, fastening my seat belt.
"You used your money did not you?" He asked annoyed.
"I'm tired" I said faintly closing my eyes.

"Carter how long before we reach there?" I asked again as we shared the food.
"You'll see when we get there"
"How many hours have we travelled so far?" I asked
"Five , why?" And suddenly I took note of how it was getting dark.
"Five hours!You said it was a short drive"
"It was" he smiled
"I hate you" I grumbled
"You've said that too many times now it almost sounds like a lie"
Then suddenly it hit me . I'd wanted to ask this question for a while now.
"Carter what are we?"
"Friends" he grinned biting his lower lip.
"Did you just friend zone me?" I asked angrily.
"The last time I called you my girlfriend you freaked out so what do you want me to peg us as?"
"Nevermind" I said dropping the topic.

Carter kept saying we were about to arrive for two hours and it annoyed me so much that I ended up quiet humming to myself.
Then my phone rang. Chloe
"Bitch" she greeted
"Hey Chlo"
"Where the hell are you?" She asked
"I've been kidnapped by Carter "
"Its not kidnap if you're obliging" she snorted
"Thanks for the advice "
"Yeah bye Oli do not forget to use
protection" she said the last part loudly it made my face turn red.
"Geez I'm not going to do anything with him!" I yelled ending the call.
