"What should I do?" I panicked asking Chloe after we'd reached the studio.
"I still cant believe he knocked you up"
"Chloe please be serious" I panicked even more
"Relax" she patted my shoulder "I'm going to be an aunt" she squeaked
"I'm such a disgrace" I face palmed crying .
"Hey you're not a disgrace. Look babies happen when you have sex and Carter and you tend to indulge in that a lot of that. Grow up it's not like you're going to jail it's just a baby" she said comforting me.
It panicked me even further. Just a baby? What would mom do? What would I do I mean we were trying to fend for two people back home just me and mom now this baby was a whole bomb.
This meant I had to drop out of university, look for jobs and start preparing for a baby. I couldn't abort it considering it was innocent and deep down a part in me wanted to keep something both Carter and I shared.
Becoming a college dropout was the last thing I had planned. I wanted a decent career before i settled and started a family but now i had ruined my own life.
And everyone who would look at me would shake their heads and sigh saying what a waste. I was now part of the population who endured teen pregnancies which I had learnt and degraded back in high school.
Karma you freak.
"Don't worry" Chloe urged "I'm here" she smiled rubbing my back.
"How am I going to tell mom?"
I asked through my tears
"We'll find a way" she sighed sadly.
My life had just ended.

Uncle Max and aunt Nina picked me up the following week after the school board had dismissed me.
Apparently pregnancy was a big issue for scholarship students.
"Oli atleast talk to me" aunt Nina persisted once we'd reached her house"I was sixteen when I had Chloe and I promise you it gets better along the way" she smiled sadly .
"But I had aspirations" I cried.
"Dont stress everything happens for a reason"
"So you're not disappointed?" I asked her
"Upset maybe a little...disappointed never you've always made me proud"
"Thank you aunt" I smiled
"Call me Nina baby" she hugged me
"Nina how will I tell my mom" I asked with worry.
"Ginette is not easy but I'm sure she'll understand" yes my mother's name is Ginette.
"But she believed in me" I paused " I wanted to change our lives" I sobbed
"Please stop crying I swear you'll be happy" she said I drifted off to sleep in her arms.
So that didnt go as bad as I had imagined . Next stop my mom.

The airport was slightly crowded considering it was close to Thanksgiving.
From the crowd I spotted my mother looking frail and fragile.
I rushed and hugged her as I cried.
"I missed you" she laughed crying , with both guilt and the fact that I'd missed her.
"Let's go home"
"You've grown taller" she commented
"You've just gotten shorter"
*****"You never told me why you're back" said my mother over dinner.
"Its just a temporary break"
I wasnt ready to tell her yet . Besides I had just arrived and wanted to enjoy the last moments of our mother-daughter bond before this baby drifted us apart.
"How is England?" She asked with interest .
"Fun"
"Fun? No boys no drama?" she asked with dancing eyebrows and suddenly the thought of Carter evaded my mind.
Im sure my expression changed because mom looked down. And immediately I fake smiled.
"Something happened and you're not telling me" she concluded the exact truth.
"Nothing happened I just remembered Chloe I miss her" I smiled . I wanted nothing but to cry yet I had to stay strong. Circumstances were asking for too much from me.
