"Sunghoon... how about you give me one fucking night of happiness."
Sunghoon tilted his head, pretending to be drunk, his lips curling into a teasing smile.
"NO WAY I SAID THAT!" Sunoo exclaimed, his face heating up as he slapped a hand over his mouth.
His other hand shot out to smack Sunghoon on the shoulder.
The café went silent as a few people turned to look at them.
"Yeah, you absolutely did," Sunghoon said, his tone playful but warm. "It was so silly. But..."
"But what?" Sunoo asked, narrowing his eyes, his embarrassment still evident.
"But cute." Sunghoon finished, his voice softer this time. His gaze locked on Sunoo's, unflinching and sincere.
Sunoo blinked, caught off guard.
He wanted to laugh it off, to brush the moment away, but instead, his cheeks betrayed him, burning crimson as he looked down at his hands.
"Anyways," Sunghoon said, breaking the tension as he reached into his pocket. "I wanted to give you this."
He pulled out a small, delicate necklace, the silver chain catching the light as it dangled from his fingers.
Sunoo tilted his head. "What's that for?"
Instead of answering right away, Sunghoon placed the necklace gently in Sunoo's palm. Sunoo turned it over, his fingers tracing the intricate design of the pendant-a small crescent moon with a tiny gemstone embedded in its curve.
"I always told myself that my sister was the one I loved the most," Sunghoon began, his voice uncharacteristically soft. "That's why I bought that. But now..." He paused, glancing at Sunoo with a vulnerability that made Sunoo's chest tighten. "Now there's someone else in my heart."
Sunoo froze, staring at the necklace in his hand.
The weight of Sunghoon's words hit him all at once.
His eyes darted back to Sunghoon, who was smiling at him, not his usual playful smirk but something gentler, more real.
"I..." Sunoo's voice wavered. He bit his lip, trying to stop the tears welling up in his eyes.
He slipped the necklace over his head, letting the pendant rest against his chest. "It's beautiful..." he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
Sunghoon reached out, his hand enveloping Sunoo's smaller ones.
His touch was steady, grounding.
"Are you gonna come back here?" Sunghoon asked, his voice quiet but edged with something deeper-concern, maybe even fear.
Sunoo hesitated, his gaze dropping to their joined hands. "Maybe." he said finally.
"You're not sure?" Sunghoon pressed, though he tried to sound casual. The slight tremble in his voice betrayed him.
Sunoo looked up, his eyes searching Sunghoon's face. He squeezed his hands gently before speaking. "Yeah... but I'm sure of one thing."
Sunghoon tilted his head. "What's that?"
"Love." Sunoo said, a small, shy smile breaking across his face.
Sunghoon's lips parted as if to say something, but instead, he simply smiled back-a soft, genuine smile that made Sunoo's heart ache and flutter all at once.
