She stood there like a statue. Not being able to meet his intense stare she dropped her gaze as she fisted her dress. Her heart was thumping loudly in her ears.
"Where were you?" His voice was gruff, sending chills down her spine. He was mad.
"I... I... was with Charlotte. W..we were just in the pack M...Market," She said with mustered up courage.
"Did you take my permission for this?" He queried and his words hit a nerve.
"I didn't need any," the words left her lips before she could think and he cocked a perfect brow at her.
"Oh, is that so?" He said as he moved away from the wall and started to prowl towards her.
Aurora's eyes widened as she took a step back but then her eyes landed on her phone in his hand.
No.
She will not get intimidated by him. And in no way she will live here as a captive.
She stood her ground with her eyes fixed on his boots as he finally came to a stop right in front of her.
There was just a foot distance between their bodies touching.
She gulped and stood rooted to her spot.
"You aren't allowed to leave this place without my permission," He said coldly and she clenched her jaw while exhaling angrily.
"I'm not your prisoner," She said calmly, matching his gaze and she swore she saw a flicker of emotion in his cold eyes before it was gone.
"But you are," He deadpanned as she gnashed her molars.
She liked it. The anger that was coursing through her veins had dissipated her fear somehow. She wanted to stand in front of him like a warrior but he was fire and playing with fire will only lead to her ashes.
"I'm your mate," She retorted and he tilted his head ever so slowly. All of a sudden his eyes had that amusement dancing in them as he gazed at her vehemently.
"Mate?" He mused taking yet another step closer, leaving just an inch space between them from their bodies touching.
She inhaled sharply and his scent was thick all around her. Consuming her. He raised his hand and this time she didn't flinch. The tips of his fingers got a hold of her hair strand as he gently tucked it behind her ear.
She gulped as she kept her gaze focused on his neck. "Y...yes, and I'm a free p...person. Not a prisoner," She said with courage.
"But you are my prisoner, little princess." He rasped and she swallowed thickly. Glancing up at his eyes for a slight second before looking away.
"I'm not. You should put it in your thick skull before I put it there," She gritted out trying to imitate Hunter.
Draken's eyes widened in absolute surprise as he stared at her and her own heart ceased to beat for a second when she realized what she had said.
She was done for.
He would surely kill her now.
"And how are you planning to put it. in. my. thick. skull?" He said the last syllables with force causing her breathing to go sparse.
"I...I... uh... I'm tired." She mumbled and tried to walk past him but he put his arm out blocking her way.
Tipping his head back he glanced at her before coming to stand in front of her again.
"How are you going to put it in my thick skull, Aurora?" He rasped as she inhaled sharply.
"Give me my phone," She demanded bravely.
"Why?" He asked innocently causing her to throw a quick glare his way before looking away.
"Because it's mine," She muttered in a duh tone.
"And you're mine," He husked and her eyes widened as she stared into his dark onyx hues.
"I'm not," She deadpanned and his brow shot up in a challenge.
She was scared and a nervous wreck but in no way was she backing down.
"But you just said you're my mate, didn't you?" He said coolly, taking a step towards her and involuntarily she stepped back. If she hadn't stepped back his body would've flushed against hers.
"That didn't make me yours," She said and this time her voice was shaky. Her heart was thumping faster.
"You're in my pack. You're my mate. By all means, you belong to me, Aurora." His voice was deep and thick with absolute seriousness that it rattled her heart.
He was staking his claim on her. He was making it clear to her that she belongs to him.
"You threatened me to come here. By no means I'm yours. I only belong to myself," She said confidently and it was a miracle that she was talking so confidently in front of the most intimidating and ruthless man in the world.
Aurora stopped, stepping back as she raised her shaky hand and placed it on his chest, stopping him from cornering her. She wasn't even fully touching her palm but he pressed his chest forward and she inhaled sharply feeling the sparks where her thumb just stroked his chest through the opened buttons of his shirt.
He paused, staring at her hand on his chest before looking at her. Their gaze met.
"The moment I lay my eyes on you. You belonged to me," He rasped and the very next second he grabbed her hand that was on his chest and twisted it behind her back. She let out a loud gasp as her body got flushed against his.
Her wide eyes gazed at him stunned and scared. He was firmly holding her wrist behind her back, not tight enough to hurt her but just enough to keep her from struggling.
She forced her free hand between their bodies to create an appropriate distance but it was of no use.
Draken placed her phone in his pocket as he raised his hand and tucked her hair strand behind her ear. His fingertips touching her skin left sparks in its wake.
"What are you d...doing?" She gritted out but her voice wavered in the end as she struggled but to no avail.
"What does it seem like?" He rasped.
The way he was looking at her with that intense look in his eyes caused her to look away.
This act of hers offended him.
He was quick to grab her chin as he redirected her gaze to his own.
"Don't look away when I'm talking to you," He said in his deep voice, her cheeks tinted red in flush.
"L...let me go," She whispered as her ocean hues stared at his eyes one by one before she closed her eyes this time.
She just couldn't look him in the eyes when he look at her like that.
"Open your eyes, Aurora." He husked.
The more he wanted to look into her magnificent eyes that were the window to her soul. The more she avoids his gaze.
"F..First, let me go." She demanded though she was in no position to make such demands.
The left corner of his lips quirked up as he jerked her closer causing her eyes to shoot open wide as their gaze collided.
His eyes held a dark intensity in them while her eyes were swirling with fear and nervousness.
"I don't mind holding you this close to me," He mused.
She was too shocked to even form a word as she stared at his smirk.
"Where were you?" His voice was gruff, sending chills down her spine. He was mad.
