He was smirking.
No way.
He could smirk?
Never in her life had she thought that the most feared man could ever have this side to him as well.
"Let me go," She demanded with courage.
It irked her because he seemed to enjoy the situation.
"Why?" He said. Draken was behaving oddly for his personality.
"Did you hit your head somewhere?" She asked in utmost seriousness.
And the stunned look on his face gave her the chance as she abruptly pushed him away. He was taken off guard but still, he didn't even step back. His hold on her loosened and she freed her hand.
She was about to step back but his steel-like arms wrapped around her waist as he kept her in place.
Both of her hands were on his chest as she pushed him away but to no avail.
"Can you please let me go," She said in a small voice and she was glad she wasn't stuttering.
The reason that she was a little confident in front of him, was because he didn't force himself on her. Instead, he made the whole fake scenario in front of the elders. This whole thing gave her a slight hint that he might not hurt her.
She thought he would let her be and let her live quietly in the corner of his mansion but he seemed to be thinking something else.
"I said let me go," She demanded while giving him a quick glare but he seemed unfazed.
"How old are you?" He asked. Though Draken had an idea that it was her 18th birthday when he first met her that night. He still wants to hear it from her.
"L..let me go," She struggled, completely disregarding his question. Why was he even asking her this thing?
He stayed quiet, keeping her caged in his arms and she continued to struggle but to no avail.
The silence between them had her breathing going labored. It was all okay when she was talking back, at those moments she wasn't thinking about their proximity but now in silence, she could think nothing except him.
His big hands were on her back. His intense eyes fixed on her. His hard muscular body pressed against hers. She gulped.
"18," She whispered and he tilted his head to the side.
"Why did you bring your phone here, Aurora?" He asked and she was dumbfounded by his question.
"So I can keep in touch with my family," She said truthfully and he sighed.
"You're not allowed to talk to your family, they shouldn't know how you are." He said and she noticed how his voice hardened.
"I'm not a prisoner," She said those same words again while matching his gaze and his eyes darkened.
"But no one should know that," He muttered coldly and fear started to creep in. What did he mean by that?
She tried to free herself from his hold but it seemed impossible. She was avoiding touching his bare skin because the sparks always engulf her in a feeling that she wasn't supposed to feel.
"Can you just let me go," She said frustrated. It was difficult for her to think normally with his proximity.
And just like that he removed his hold from around her and let her go.
She didn't step back as she met his gaze head-on and glared at him.
"If you hear yourself. Y...you don't even make sense," She said calmly and he narrowed his eyes on her.
She stepped closer trying to match his intimidating stance but he knew what she was doing. He had already noticed her hand moving towards her pants pocket but just before she could grab her phone. He circled her wrist, stopping her and she jolted badly.
Her eyes widened in fear as all the courage flew out of the window.
"I said no," He grumbled and she flinched at his icy tone.
Her eyes glossed up and she felt like crying.
She snatched her wrist out of his hold, not caring that she was hurting herself as she did.
"You can not keep me captive here," She gritted out in frustrating anger as she ran away from there.
Getting into her room she closed the door shut and locked it. She slid down the door and tears followed.
How dare he?
Who did he think of himself?
He planned to isolate her. Strip her off of her rights. She will not accept such treatment.
He brought her to his pack and still he wasn't satisfied enough and took her phone so she couldn't even talk to her family.
This was cruel of him.
But she will not sit and let him do as he pleases. If he didn't give her phone back soon. She will run away. After that weird purity check ritual. She thought he wasn't that cruel and she could give them a chance. She had thought about it but now she can't live like a prisoner.
After Luna's ceremony when everyone knows she was their Luna, she would escape. No one will stop her except him. She will run away.
She will not go back to her pack but rather she will contact Lennox. He was the only one who could help her. Draken would never mess with the heir of the vampire King. Maybe Lennox would have something to save her.
But as a hybrid, she couldn't leave Draken. She would die within a few days due to pain. If she had to escape then first she had to become strong. If she could get her wolf, she would be strong enough to bear the pain of rejection. Still, the chances of survival would be sixty percent but she will give it a try.
Why was she accepting all of this to be her fate? She was strong. She had to make her way out of this. She shouldn't just sit and wait for her brothers to come and save her with a solution.
She was their sister. She was the daughter of Xander Colt. She has to be strong no matter what.
For now, she just had to get her hands on her phone and a freaking charger so she could contact Lennox.
She slept that night with new determination.
She woke up early the next morning. She showered and changed into a tracksuit. It was so early at dawn. She left her room and looked for something to eat in the kitchen but there was absolutely nothing solid to eat so she just made a quick coffee for herself.
After having it, she left the mansion not caring if he gets mad at her. She made her way to the packhouse that was on the end of the street.
Right beside the packhouse, there was a huge training ground and lots of rugged-looking warriors were training. They were warming up.
She hesitantly walked there as she watched them. "What are you doing here, Luna?" A solid voice had her jumping in surprise as she turned around to find a man as tall as Draken standing there with his hand behind his back.
He noticed the distressed look on Aurora's face and his face softened.
"I'm Eren. The beta of this pack." The man introduced himself and Aurora's eyes widened slightly.
He was Charlotte's mate.
"Good morning, Beta Eren." She said with a soft smile. A smile grazed his lips as Eren nodded at her.
There were a few gasps as the warriors paused their training and gazed at their always cold emotionless beta who only smiled at his mate.
"Continue," He growled and they started warming up again.
Aurora gulped. It seemed a lot tougher than she thought it would be.
"What are you doing here, Luna?" He asked again.
"Please call me Aurora," She said and he nodded his head.
"I...I... want to train," She whispered and his eyes widened slightly.
"Of course, Aurora. I would be happy to train you but I think Draken would hate that and also my life is precious to me," Eren said and her brows knitted together.
"Huh?" She was confused.
"Aurora," a loud booming voice of Draken had her stiffening in her place as she froze.
