"From now onwards, you must cook food and keep this house clean. You've to do all the chores from laundry to everything" He said calmly as he let go of her arm once they were in the kitchen.
She stared at him dumbfounded. He brought her to his pack to make her his maid.
She wanted to scream no at his face but he seemed so threatening that she thought it would be better to leave without answering him but who was she kidding? He set his arm out stopping her from escaping.
"Don't you understand what I just said?" He asked her coldly as she stepped away from him.
Her brows were knitted together and her eyes glossed up. "I...I'm n...not your maid," She whispered and he closed his eyes for a brief second.
It was obvious he was trying to control his anger but she didn't even do anything wrong. She was just telling the truth and he couldn't digest it. What was her fault in all this?
"From now on you are," He said icily and her heart stuttered in pain.
He was being cruel and illogical.
"Y...you can't f...force me," She said while trying to glare at him but she looked like a scared child with a pout and big ocean teary eyes.
He took predatory steps toward her and she stepped back. Her back touched the slab and the next thing he was hovering over her.
"I can and you know that, Aurora." He hissed and a tear escaped her eye. She wanted to protest, but he seemed so terrifying as if at any moment he would kill her.
She didn't say anything as her shoulders slumped and she stared at the floor.
"My food better be ready," He grumbled in low menace as he walked out of the kitchen leaving her alone.
She placed her palm on the slab to stable herself. No one has ever talked to her so coldly with such hatred and menace. Just his icy cold voice frightened her to the bones. She didn't even want to think about his cold eyes that screamed murder.
He was being heartless to her deliberately. She has never done any chores in her house and here he was forcing her to do all this.
Wiping her tears she washed her hands. She thought hard about what she could cook but she didn't know much except pancakes. Her eyes glossed up again because she didn't even have her phone, she could at least search up some recipes on the Internet.
Sniffing, she started preparing the batter for the pancakes. Though she cooked for him, she was still scared knowing he would get mad because she didn't know much about cooking. She also made sandwiches and Olivier salad.
She set the table for him and hurriedly filled her plate with food and took it to her room. She then ambled to his room and lightly knocked on his door.
"Come in," his gruff voice came but she didn't enter.
"Dinner is ready," She said loudly and then hurried back to her room, locking the door. She sat on the couch with her food and ate it quietly. It didn't taste bad. She hoped he wouldn't get mad at her because she didn't cook him a solid dinner but rather made a mixture of breakfast and lunch.
Once done with her food she waited in her room patiently for the next two hours. When she was sure he would've gone back to his room, she left the safety confines of her room. She noticed that he had eaten what she had cooked.
Aurora cleared the table as she washed the dishes and then headed back to her room.
She would request Charlotte to teach her a few recipes.
Opening the window she leaned against the wall and she stared at the twinkling stars with a sigh. The breeze was chilling as it swept past her, playing with her hair strands. The crescent moon looked breathtaking. Since she was a child, she loved to watch the moon. The beauty of it always captivates her.
How the moon still shines even with all the darkness surrounding it.
A tear escaped her eye and then another and within a few seconds, she was full-on crying.
She missed her family. She missed her mom, her handmade food. Her father and how he specially treats her like a princess. Hunter, who would always protect her from any harm. Angela the extrovert and Rasmus, her true friend with whom she shares almost everything. She wondered how Cath was doing and Luca.
She didn't want to think about Luca because just the slightest thought of him hurts her.
She could only hope that he was doing fine because, in the end, they weren't meant to be. Maybe she had to suffer her whole life living like a maid just because she was a hybrid and not strong enough to get away from Draken.
After that night when he faked the mating thing, she thought he was a good guy but she was wrong. He was exactly what was rumored across the lands. A cold ruthless beast.
She wiped her tears but they kept on falling as she sniffed and rubbed her arms for warmth. The cold breeze made the tip of her nose icy cold but she still didn't close the window.
She missed her family so much. She could at least talk to them on the phone but he took it away from her. He had surely made her a prisoner with no rights of her own.
She padded to the bed and dropped on it face first. With a groan, she turned around and pulled her legs up as she lay in a fetal position.
She kept weeping silently as the sheets absorbed all her tears which were filled with sorrow.
"R...Rasmus... I...if only I was s...strong like you," She whispered while crying silently as her whole body racked with sobs.
"I miss home," She mumbled to herself as she sniffed.
Slowly and gradually she drifted into a deep slumber with so much sorrow in her heart.
