The doorbell rang and Aurora groaned before she got up from the floor and dusted her clothes. Well, there was no dirt really because she had cleaned the place so much that it was sparkling and as a perfectionist, she likes it to be perfect.
She walked to the door and opened it without checking through the peephole. She thought it was Charlotte but it was Echo.
"He is not home," Aurora said thinking that she was here to meet him.
"I'm here to talk to you," Echo said as she stepped inside even though Aurora hadn't opened the door fully.
Aurora closed the door as she looked at her. What does she want to talk to her about?
"Let's head to the backyard," Echo said in a very small voice as she headed out.
Aurora was skeptical but she followed her to the backyard. Echo was wearing a dark blue dress that was hugging her curves like a second skin. She was beautiful no doubt.
Echo knew about the hidden cameras, and that was why she asked her to come to the backyard because there were no cameras there. Even if she was seen in the cameras, Draken won't know what she talked about to Aurora.
"You are from Moon pack right?" Echo asked as she turned to face Aurora. Aurora nodded.
"You know that Draken is your enemy still, you came to his pack?" Echo asked with a raised brow.
Aurora's brows furrowed. Why was she asking her all this? Aurora wasn't stupid.
"He is my mate." She said calmly. Her answer was a fact and it somehow irritated Echo because her eyes narrowed as she looked Aurora up and down and then she gave her a disgusted look.
Aurora was shunned to silence. There was hatred in Echo's gaze and Aurora didn't know why.
Echo took a threatening step toward her and Aurora didn't back down. Aurora may be scared of men, especially Draken but she was scared of no woman.
"I love him." Echo said sharply and Aurora's brows shot up.
"Oh, congratulations then," Aurora said calmly and her calmness was irritating Echo.
"He is mine. He was supposed to marry me but you ruined our plan," Echo hissed venomously.
"He didn't tell me anything about you so I think you're not important to him," Aurora said calmly with confidence.
Echo gritted her teeth as her hands balled into fists. Aurora didn't plan to rile her up but she was getting angry about almost everything that Aurora was saying.
"I want you to reject him," Echo gritted out. Echo was two inches taller than Aurora as she glared down at her.
"Why are you asking me to reject him? You can ask the love of your life to reject me. After all, he was going to marry you didn't he? He will surely listen to you... only if you are important to him." Aurora said smoothly. She didn't want to sound rude to her.
"Who do you think you are?" Echo sneered. It was obvious she was drowning in rage.
"Aurora Colt," Aurora answered simply.
"You will not become the Luna of this pack. This is my pack. I will not let you take my place." Echo said adamantly. She was sounding kind of obsessed.
"I'm his mate which simply makes me the Luna of North pack," Aurora said.
"I'm gonna rip out your sharp tongue," Echo warned as her claws extended and her eyes started to glow. Her wolf was on the verge.
"Then what will you answer to your Love," Aurora asked referring to Draken and Echo seemed to narrow her eyes at her before she breathed in deeply and came back to her senses.
A sickening smile fluttered across her red-tinted lips.
"I pity you. You seemed to be the type of a girl who waits her whole life for her mate but look at you what you got. A man who doesn't even spare you a glance," Echo said with a chuckle.
"He doesn't like plain girls like you. Anytime soon he will throw you out of his pack once he is done with you," Echo mused as Aurora clenched her jaw but said nothing.
"See you again. Aurora Colt." Echo smirked as she walked back inside and left.
Aurora fisted her hands before she breathed in deeply to calm herself down but her eyes glossed up. A tear escaped her eye and she immediately wiped it.
She should not care. It wasn't that she loves him or anything. He can do whatever he wants, she could care less.
Walking back inside she drowned herself in work. Washing her hands she started making dinner.
There was still one and half an hour before he would show up.
She was busy cooking. Though she wasn't a pro yet. She makes a lot of mess while cooking but she cleans it as well afterward and it was tiring.
She inhaled his scent and abruptly turned around. He stood there leaning against the wall watching her intently.
Her hair was up in a bun. She was wearing an apron with a knife in her hand and some flour powder on her forehead.
Cute.
Wait. What?
He cleared his throat. "Set the table for two. I'll freshen up." He said in his deep voice, pivoted, and left.
Why for two?
He wants her to have dinner with him. Why was he back so early? He was supposed to be back at his fixed time.
Ignoring him she busied with cooking and set the table. She will not argue with him. She will just have her dinner and escape to her room.
Her stomach grumbled as she waited for him. She so wanted to eat before him but that would be bad manners and Moon Goddess knows Aurora didn't want to trigger this man.
She stared at the lasagne with googly eyes and luckily he came as he took his seat. She waited for him to serve himself but he didn't make any move besides he just looked at her expectantly.
With a deep breath, she served him and then served herself. She didn't know why but she feels he was making her work deliberately.
She ate her food in silence. It was awkward for her to eat normally because she could feel his gaze on her once in a while.
She was glad that it was delicious. Slowly she was learning to make good food. The second day she made dinner, it was horrible. She thought he would scold her but when she came down to clean the table he had eaten the food and he didn't complain about it. She was thankful.
"Two days from now you will have your Luna ceremony," He said, getting her attention.
He seemed so normal as if he wasn't breaking his lover's heart by making Aurora the Luna. Didn't Echo mean anything to him? Though Echo's words were like sharp knives that had wounded Aurora's heart.
She got up from her seat as she collected the dishes.
"Correction; A Luna with no rights." She whispered in a small voice as she walked away with dishes but he heard her.
