He couldn't help but think about their incident in the morning. The way she barged into his room and the way she told him that she was willing to give them a chance.
She just took one eighty-degree turn. What happened? What was brewing in her head? He couldn't help but be suspicious of her.
Why didn't she decide to give them a chance before? Why all of a sudden?
Not being able to concentrate on his work. He opened the screen where the live footage of his mansion was on display.
He found her in the kitchen making dinner. She was wearing a huge t-shirt that was double her size with black leggings. Her hair was in a braid as she was drowned in cooking.
Ever since he commanded her to cook and clean. He has been watching her through cameras. How she was nill in cooking but she was learning slowly with the help of Charlotte.
She looked pretty busy at the moment and it was obvious she was cooking more than one dish.
He kept watching her. It was late and he was still in the packhouse. He was supposed to be back in the mansion by now. But he didn't go. Because she didn't hide in her room with her food, instead she sat at the dining table waiting.
His eyes widened slightly. She was waiting for him. His jaw clenched as he slammed the laptop shut. Moving his chair back, he rested his head on the headrest and breathed in deeply.
What has gotten into her?
Aurora was sitting at the dining table. Her stomach grumbled. She was hungry and the food smelled delicious but she comforted herself to wait a little bit more. She wants to have dinner with him. The first part of her plan on making this whole thing work was to share meals with him.
Because of his behavior in the morning, she was really scared and depressed. She wasn't expecting him to behave like that but it was okay. She had that gut feeling that he deliberately tried to scare her.
Maybe he was creeped out by the sudden change in her resolve but it was okay. She wasn't giving up so soon.
He was supposed to be back. He was two hours late from his schedule. The food had gotten cold and her hunger had intensified.
Her forehead rested on the table as her arms dangled in the air. Her ears perked up when she heard the door opening. She was on her feet in an instant as she walked into the lounge.
He paused after seeing her before he proceeded toward the stairs. "Dinner is ready, freshen up." She said in her soft voice and he halted.
"I've already had dinner," He grumbled without even turning around to spare her a glance.
Her face fell and her shoulders slumped. She had put so much effort into preparing dinner for him.
"Okay," Her voice came out small, barely hearable but he picked it up.
"You should eat and go to sleep," that grumbling deep voice reached her ears again as she glanced at him but he was already gone.
She made her way to the dining table and served herself. She won't let her appetite die because of him. She ate her food silently but she was sad. Tears brimmed her eyes but she controlled them. It was okay. She can face it. She can deal with him.
After dinner, she washed the dishes and retired back to her room.
Sleep came sooner than expected as she was tired. The next morning she woke up fresh and feeling energetic.
After a quick shower, she left her room to make breakfast but she noticed that he had already left. Her brows furrowed as she glared at nothingness.
Why did it seem familiar? He was hiding from her the same way she did in the past few days.
Sighing she looked for the leftover in the fridge and to her surprise, there was nothing left in there. Her brows furrowed in confusion but then it clicked in her head. He ate all the leftovers because he lied that he already had dinner outside, she couldn't help but seem impressed by his resolve to ignore her and stay away from her.
She made a sandwich for herself. After breakfast, she got to work. She did all the cleaning and then laundry. Her body was getting used to the work. She didn't get exhausted like in the starting days.
She hasn't forgotten about her training. Escaping is not an option anymore but she still needed her wolf and for that, she had to become strong. When Charlotte would come she would ask her to teach her some moves.
She cleaned his room when something clicked in her mind as she recalled something.
Aurora dashed into her room as she grabbed the spare keys of the house and made her way to his private study. She contemplated for a while but then taking in a deep breath she unlocked the door and stepped inside.
Closing the door softly she made her way to the table and went through the first drawer. There were just papers about pack missions for troops regarding safety measures.
She opened the second drawer and a smile instantly adorned her lips. She found her phone. She took it out but her eyes squinted on the file in the drawer.
The words imprinted on it in bold letters got her attention. Placing the phone and the keys on the table she grabbed the file.
'Human trafficking.'
Her heart started to thud faster as she opened the file and looked through the matter. There were pictures of young girls the same age as her with their details mentioned on the file.
Her hands were trembling by now as she noticed another file in the drawer. She hesitantly opened it and the content in it made fear creep into her bones.
There were details on mafia gangs and their shipments. The deals and whatnot with dates and areas mentioned.
She felt her throat clogging up. She didn't want to think about it but her mind went on one thing alone.
Draken was not only the ruthless Alpha but he was also involved with the mafia.
Cold shudders ran down her spine as she put the files back and closed the drawer.
She hastily grabbed her phone but the keys fell on the floor. Crouching down she was grabbing the keys when her eyes widened in shock as she found a gun attached to the table.
Moving away abruptly she dashed out of his study and locked the door.
She scurried to her room and once inside she breathed in deeply to calm her erratically beating heart down.
No matter what. She didn't want to believe that Draken was related to the mafia and on top of that, he did human trafficking. The thought of it made her stomach churn.
She gets chills of fear swarming in her veins.
She instantly hid her phone in her closet and tried to calm down. For now, she should focus on finding a charger.
Maybe it was just her hallucination. She didn't want to believe what she saw in those files.
