She stared at the smashed pieces of her phone with wide horrified eyes.
A shriek left her lips when he grabbed her jaw in a rough grip and redirected her gaze to him. He was hovering over her like a beast as she tried to pry his hand away from her face.
"L...leave me..." She wanted to sound strong but her voice betrayed her with its trembling.
"Why?" He gritted out and with each passing second his hold was becoming brutal and painful as his fingers dug in her soft flesh with a promise of leaving bruises.
Tears caressed her cheeks as she tried to get out of his vicious grasp.
She punched his arm and even clawed but he wasn't budging. She felt as if her jawbone would crush in his vice grip.
His free hand wrapped around her locks and he yanked her hair roughly, jerking her head closer. Pain shot through her scalp as her eyes opened wide, meeting with the darkest onyx orbs.
"F*cking answer me!" He roared.
She wasn't even able to form words, she was that terrified.
Draken let go of her rather roughly causing her to stumble back. He closed his eyes for a brief second breathing in deeply to calm down.
She was scampering back when he lunged at her. Grabbing her forearm, he started to drag her to the backyard. In the garden, he walked to the corner where he crouched down and opened the secret passage.
She was struggling to get out of his grasp. He walked down the stairs yanking her along with him.
The dark passageway had her heart trembling in her chest as she punched at his forearm but it was useless.
"L...leave me! I...I didn't send them..." She screeched as she tugged her arm not caring if she was hurting herself. There was so much darkness that she could barely see anything with her hybrid powers which were almost useless as she couldn't feel her wolf yet.
She dug her feet on the rugged floor and kneeled causing him to stop.
A low guttural growl was all she heard before her world turned upside down as he hauled her up on his shoulder like a rag doll.
"Stop, please! I didn't do anything!" She screamed while punching his solid back and only ended up hurting her hands.
Her heart was thumping in her ears. She couldn't help but think he was going to kill her now and this was the path down her death.
Tears fell out of her eyes like a waterfall as she kicked her legs wildly but he restrained them easily.
She panted through her lips as she noticed the light and within a few seconds, they were in dimly lit dungeons.
Fear coursed through her body as she inhaled the rotten smell of blood in the air.
Her wide scared eyes stared at the dungeon with terror-filled eyes. One got her eye and there was fresh blood on the floor. She felt sick and nauseous.
Her insides were churning in dread.
He kicked the metal door open as the rattling sound echoed in that place. She jolted badly and then all of a sudden all the blood rushed back down and she lost her footing when he put her down abruptly. Her hand landed on the wall for support as she held her head and tried to gather her bearings.
She blinked her eyes slowly when she found him standing near the wall which was full of torturing equipment all made of silver. There was even wolfbane there.
Her chin quivered in raw trepidation as she glanced at the ajar door and dashed forward. Before she could escape a cry of pain escaped her lips when he harshly grabbed her hair in a fist. Her hands shot up to remove his hold but he turned her around and yanked her to him causing her small frail body to collide with his hard one. She instantly tried to create appropriate distance between them but he only jerked her head up causing her terror-stricken ocean hue to meet his ominous gaze.
"There's no running away." He sneered. His deep voice was cold malice that pierced through her heart like an acid-dipped sword.
She stared at him with her doe-like glassy eyes full of pain and fear. His eyes fell on her quivering chin and those trembling lips.
"I told you not to be a snitch but you didn't listen!" He sneered while yanking at her hair and she closed her eyes shut as more tears kissed her rosy cheeks.
"I....I..." there was a stone-like obstruction forming in her throat as she forgot the basic words and her tongue refused to cooperate with her.
"I told you, you don't even want to know how I treat my prisoners but it seemed like you were really interested," He gritted out in rage.
She shook her head but he tightened his hold on her hair so she couldn't move her head and she became immobile in his arms.
Her breathing stopped and her eyes shot open in terror when his free calloused hand wrapped around her delicate neck and he gave a firm squeeze. She was already standing on her toes.
Her lips parted as she gasped and tried to breathe normally. She tried to pry his hand from her neck but it was impossible.
Panic surged in her form as she looked into his eyes. Pleading him to believe her. To stop all his.
It was cruel how she felt the sparks even when her mate was ready to snatch the life out of her body.
"I'll ask you nicely. Why did you send those pictures to your brother?" He asked icily and she parted her trembling lips.
Her neck was craned and her face was almost towards the ceiling as the tears caressed her temples and disappeared into her hairline. His face was hovering over her like looming death. The dark expressions of rage on his face got imprinted on her mind.
She closed her eyes. She can't bear to look at him like this any longer.
His thumb caressed her throat in a warning as she forced herself to speak.
"E...echo brought the box. S...she told me she needs to d...drop that box in your room. Y.. you've asked h...her to do so, I...I... was in the lounge as she left the b...box in your room a...and then she left. I... I stepped into y...your room. I was c...curious. I...I... wanted to see what was in it b...but I p...promise I n...never e...even touched it. I d...didn't even go to my room since m...morning. I...I... don't know how t...those pictures w...were in m...my phone..." She stammered in her quivering voice.
Draken gnashed his molars as he let her go only to grab her wrist. Walking her to the wall, he grabbed the chains and restrained her.
She didn't say anything. She watched with teary eyes and her head bowed down. Her hair curtained her from his distrustful gaze.
Without another word he walked out and locked the door.
And just like that, he was gone.
