Her whole body felt as if it was crushed under a huge weight. Pain. That was all she could feel as she tried to open her eyes but her eyelids wouldn't budge. Her whole body was paralyzed. She was partially aware of her surroundings, there were people around her talking in hushed voices. She tried again but her body wasn't cooperating with her and there was that presence inside her. It was strong and familiar. She could feel it in her soul and just like that she scummed into darkness again.
The next time Aurora woke up, she was feeling better as her eyes fluttered open. She groaned as she rubbed her temple to ease the pain. She squinted her eyes at the ceiling. She was in Draken's room. She recalled all the happenings and her heart constricted in pain as she tried to sit up and severe pain shot through her stomach as she winced and palmed the wound.
Pushing the blanket away she stared at her clothes. She was just in a shirt that smelled like him. A shiver ran down her spine thinking that he changed her clothes but her heart came to ease when she inhaled Charlotte's scent as well. It was Charlotte who had changed her clothes.
She slowly pulled the shirt up and gazed at the gauze wrapped around her stomach covering the wound.
And then her gaze fell on her foot. It was also wrapped in gauze but the damage to her foot was more severe than to her stomach. She slowly touched her neck to feel the wound but it wasn't there. She touched her cheek and it has healed as well.
For how long has she passed out? Because it takes her the same time as humans to heal. But now she had gotten her wolf, maybe that was why her small wounds healed quickly within a night.
She noticed a cannula on her hand.
She looked around the room and he was nowhere in sight. She took in a shaky breath. Her throat was parched, and with much difficulty, she grabbed the glass of water from the bedside and chugged the water down. Her throat moved with each gulp.
Aurora wiped her mouth as she put the glass back and leaned against the headboard.
She glared at the door. Her eyes pricked with tears as she refused to cry.
She recalled each and everything from last night. He was so cruel and barbaric. She couldn't help but feel that she had stared death in the eyes last night.
He didn't believe her at all.
Even though she told him the truth yet he didn't believe her. What was their relationship if there was no trust between them? He trusts Echo on her and that was gut-churning for her.
Aurora got out of bed. The cold clings to her naked legs as she shudders. Her legs were wobbly as she tried to balance herself. As soon as she applied a lightweight on her wounded foot a cry escaped her lips and she fell to the floor hurting her knees as well.
It was as if there was no energy in her body. She felt weak. Drained.
She wasn't going to sit there and wait for him to show up with his stupid face. Aurora got up with the help of the bed as she limped to the door. She flung it open before making her way to her room. Grabbing her bag she packed it up, wearing loose trousers, and opened the door only to be greeted by the concerned-looking Draken. His eyes were wide as he looked her up and down as if checking for any injury.
Anger shot up in her veins as her claws extended out and with a low growl she lunged forward with an intent to inflict pain on him. He was taken off guard by her sudden attack that he couldn't dodge on time and groaned in pain when she left wounds on his chest.
And before she could fall he grabbed her forearms steadying her as his back hit the wall.
Her eyes widened as she stared at the blood on his chest. What has she done?
He deserves that much! The voice in her head spoke and Aurora's eyes narrowed.
She grabbed his collar in her fists and yanked him down so he was at her eye level.
"How dare you set me up?" Aurora gritted out and Draken was too stunned to even form a word.
His eyes were fixed on her ocean hues that were swirling with the specs of silver in them which he had never seen before.
And her feistiness took him off guard for real.
"Aurora," He said and she jerked at his collar pulling him closer.
"Don't Aurora me! You knew I was innocent when I told you the truth in the dungeon yet you left me there knowing fully well that Echo would show up. Now, don't you dare play dumb with me!" She was like a fierce fire and he was rendered speechless for a second.
"I was angry. Betrayal never sets well with me. But when you told me the truth I put the two and two together. I left you there so I could catch Echo. I knew she would come. I was right there to catch her. I wouldn't have let her touch you but then someone mind-linked me that rogues had attacked our pack. She took advantage of those few minutes. Echo is working for Alpha King. She is my pack member but she was betraying me." Draken said calmly as Aurora clenched her jaw.
"So you decided to put me up as bait?" She gritted out. Eyes wild and vibrant.
"I wouldn't have let her touch you. I...I'm sorry. I didn't know it would get to this. Those rogues work for Echo. It was her plan all along. Alpha King thinks you are my weakness. Just so he could stop me from ruining his kingdom he wanted to get you killed." Draken said as Aurora shook her head.
"Nothing of this is my concern. You hurt me when I wasn't even at fault. I'm leaving," Aurora gritted out as she let him go, noticing that his wound was healing at an immensely good speed as compared to hers.
Aurora grabbed her bag as she limped toward the stairs. His eyes narrowed and brows knitted together.
"Who gave you permission to leave?" He asked coldly and she stopped.
"Don't test me, Draken. Maybe I've lost my mind just like you did when you believed I'm being a mole." She gritted out and continued to walk.
