He grabbed her arm in an attempt to stop her but she yanked her arm out of his hold rather roughly.
"Don't touch me," She hissed and he prowled towards her before standing in front of her blocking her way.
"You can't leave," he said calmly but she was mad. She has lost her calm.
"Says, who?" She asked sharply but she didn't sound so rude because her voice was gentle.
"Your Alpha." He said.
Aurora let out a dry humorless chuckle as she glared at him.
"Enough of this Mr. Alpha. I'm not scared of you anymore. I won't let you strip me of my rights. I won't let you manhandle me. I won't let you treat me like a mole and I won't let you use me as your bait. I'm done being your maid. I tried to make it work but I can't waste my life on your stubbornness of being the big bad Alpha. Congratulations. I'm leaving." The silver in her eyes was shining. Her wolf had changed her personality like boom. Or maybe she's always like this when angry.
Draken gulped. His Adam apple bobbed up and down as he peered down at his fierce little mate.
She never ceases to stun him like this.
"You can't leave," he was being that stubborn jerk for no reason.
"Or else what?" She took a step closer to him and he inhaled sharply as she craned her neck up looking at him with her big doe eyes.
"Will you keep me a prisoner here?" She asked snappily.
She tried to walk past him when he stayed quiet and she accidentally put all of her weight on her injured foot. She winced and was about to fall when his arm wrapped around her waist steadying her. She instantly stood straight and pushed his arm away. Feeling the sparks at the slightest touch of their skin.
"I... I'm sorry," He said those words again.
It was obvious. He was guilty. The way he said sorry in that restrained voice, it seemed he had never even used that word before but this won't make any difference. He had hurt her and she will not forgive him so easily.
She knew he was being lenient to her. If he wanted he could've hauled her up on his shoulder. Tossed her into her room and locked her in but he was listening to her quietly which was good.
"I didn't want you to get hurt," He said genuinely. And when he met her gaze. There was regret swarming in those onyx pools.
"There's no use of me staying in your pack anymore. You don't want me. Because you don't treat me as your equal," she said.
"Who the f*ck said I don't want you?" He grumbled, stepping closer. His potent scent engulfed her as she matched his intense gaze.
She kept telling herself internally to be strong and fierce and don't be a timid little girl anymore. This man had a thick skull and she had to make him come to her terms as well.
"I didn't want you to get hurt that night," He said and her brows furrowed.
"Move aside, please." She said calmly but he didn't budge.
"You're weak, Aurora. You've been passed out for three days. You need to eat something and rest," He said and her eyes widened slightly.
Three days.
She has been unconscious for three days. "I need to talk to my brother," She demanded and he looked away.
"He had already contacted me three days back," Draken said and Aurora's brows furrowed.
"He said someone has sent him files through your phone. He thought I had a mole in my pack."
Aurora smiled. "My brother is very smart. Though he is not a mafia." She said and internally scolded herself for her overacting. She just had to be strong, not sarcastic.
"I knew Echo was working for Alpha King for ages. I just got evidence against her now," He said.
"She was close to you," She said.
"She was the daughter of a former beta whom I respected a lot. She just took advantage of my trust in her," Draken said in anger as he tried to grab the bag from her hand but she trudged a step away from him.
The fact that it has been three days and she hasn't healed properly as other werewolves reminded her that she was a hybrid though she got her wolf and she was so happy about it but her wolf wasn't as strong as a pure werewolf. She wanted to shift so badly and run through the woods. To feel those emotions that all the werewolves feel on a run.
"Nothing of this justifies your manhandling," She said calmly. Her run could wait for now she had to make this man treat her as his equal.
"I doubted you. I was wrong." He said calmly and Aurora sighed.
"This is not how it works. I tried. I tried to make us work but I won't tolerate such behavior. I want to leave. And I won't be going back to my pack so there's no need for you to worry that I might leak some info about you or your pack which I don't even have." She was thankful to her wolf for giving her the courage and confidence to face him like this headstrong.
"I won't doubt you again," He sounded almost pleading but she wasn't sure.
"The bag is heavy. Leave it," He said looking at the bag and she gazed at him. Was it concern she was seeing on his face?
She closed her eyes for a brief second when sudden dizziness hit her but she kept her balance.
"You didn't give me any reason to stay." She mumbled.
"I don't want you to go, Aurora. I never wanted to hurt you. Trust me. Just stay with me and I'll give you a reason to stay. I never thought that I'll ever have a mate but then I found you. I'm not a gentleman. I don't know attachment or tenderness but give me some time. These three days have been so tense for me. I was in agony seeing you like that and knowing I was the cause of it," He said in a restrained voice and she blinked. It seemed he didn't know how to talk about his emotions.
Wait. Was he opening up to her? It was difficult for her to believe him. From now on it would be; action speaks louder than words.
"Just give me a chance to earn your forgiveness." He lamented and she dropped her gaze as a breath left her lips in a whoosh. She let go of the bag as it dropped to the floor.
"One chance is all you'll get. And if you hurt me or break my trust this time. I'll leave you." She mumbled, her voice going soft and he breathed in deeply.
The next thing she squealed when he picked her up in his arms in a bridal style as he walked back to his room and put her on the bed gently.
"You need to rest," He said before leaving the room.
She sighed, holding her head in her hands. She didn't know if she was in it for extreme heartache or peace but this would be his last chance.
