Draken was back in the room holding a tray in his hands as he placed it on the bed in front of her.
"I'm not good at it. You'll have to bear with it," He said and Aurora gaped at the bowl of hot steamy soup and then at him. No wonder he made her do all the cooking.
Aurora grabbed a spoon as she took a spoon full and it wasn't that bad. He was leaning against the wall beside the window staring at her expectantly as if he was waiting for her to vomit and make a yuck face.
"It's okay." She said and he peeled his gaze off of her. He walked to the closet, grabbed a shirt and he stepped into the ensuite bathroom.
Aurora drank her soup in small sips as he walked out of the bathroom freshly showered. Blood was gone and she wondered if he had healed fully.
He sat on the couch and set his eyes on her once again. He stared at her foot which was wrapped in bandages. She looked so pale and weak. It was all because of him and his damaged emotions.
He recalled how pack doctors had told him that she had gotten her wolf but as a hybrid, her wolf wasn't like normal werewolves. She was half human and half werewolf. The doc even said it was a miracle that she got her wolf. In many hybrid cases the person gets their wolf very late in their lives and many never even get one. A normal werewolf only feels the power when they start feeling their wolf but for a hybrid it was difficult. They feel pain. As they grow up into an adult the transformations of their bodies were very painful. Few didn't even survive.
The first time he saw her he found her extremely innocent, beautiful, and frail. The fact that his wolf didn't feel her wolf made him realize she was a hybrid.
But every weak person can become strong and she is also becoming strong. As a starter, she had no stamina because she has not done a single work in her pack. She was pampered and treated like a princess. The reason he commanded her to do all the chores of the mansion was to build her stamina.
He had watched her through the cameras. He saw how difficult it was for her to do small tasks in the first few days but then she got the hang of it. It took her a whole day to complete these tasks before but now she just takes a few hours.
Now she was eligible to start her training.
Once she finished the soup. She shifted on the bed and then winced while holding her stomach.
Guilt clawed at his insides as regret enveloped him. Walking up to her he grabbed the medicine from the bedside table and handed it to her. She took it without any questions and gulped it down with water.
"The pain will subside now," He said and she just rested her back on the headboard and breathed in deeply.
He grabbed the tray and placed it on the bedside table.
"W...what would happen to Echo?" Aurora asked.
"She would be banished from my pack and would be sent back to Alpha King," Draken said.
"Why does the Alpha King want to get me killed? I'm not your weakness. You won't even bat an eye if I was killed." Aurora said truthfully and he clenched his jaw.
"You're my mate. Killing you would inflict pain on me," He grumbled.
"Point," she muttered.
"I won't let anyone kill you, Aurora." The way he said her name sent shivers down her spine.
He sat back on the couch and he seemed to be in the mood of talking so she continued.
"Why is the Alpha King after you? I've heard from my father that he is on his deathbed." Aurora said cautiously. She knew why Alpha King was after him but she just wanted to see his point of view.
"I've joined hands with Alonso. The two strongest packs going rampage on the other packs would leave Alpha King's kingdom in shambles. What do you expect?" This was the longest he had talked to her normally.
"Alonso is a bad man. Why did you join hands with him?" Aurora asked in her soft voice that he likes.
"You don't need to know that," Draken said firmly and it was her clue to drop it.
"You're not after power like Alonso. Your purpose is different. But why do you consider my pack as your enemy?" Aurora asked and he narrowed his eyes at her in a warning.
"Aren't you talking too much? You should rest. Go to sleep." He said and Aurora noticed how he rested his arm on the headrest of the couch. His muscles flexed under his shirt and she looked away.
"Your wound, is it healed?" She asked while keeping her gaze on her hands on her lap.
"Yes, it was just a wild kitten's claws after all." He mused and her eyes shot up, their gaze colliding and she narrowed her eyes.
"I'm not sorry at all," She muttered loud enough for him to hear.
"But I am." She didn't know why but knowing that he was guilty and he regrets it made her feel at peace.
"I'm not gonna forgive you so easily." She said and he sighed.
"I know," He mumbled.
"You should rest," Draken said as he stood up and left after looking at her one last time.
He went to his study and took his seat. Throwing his head back he sighed. His eyes closed shut as Aurora's lovely face flashed in front of his eyes.
Moon Goddess has given him such an innocent little mate. So fragile and beautiful. He thought he didn't have a mate. Nor was he searching for one. The sole aim of his life was vengeance. He just wants to take revenge on those who ruined his life and took everything away from him.
Draken wasn't exactly a perfect man. He had flaws and the one that topped the charts was his doubtful nature. He has trust issues especially, he never trusts women. Though he knew not all women were the same, still he was scared to get hurt.
Trusting Aurora was a big deal for him. She could either make him strong or simply break him. It was a risk but she was his mate. There was no doubt in it that he didn't deserve her.
She deserves care and gentleness which he knows nothing of. All he ever knew was to fight and kill. Be barbaric and ruthless. Moon Goddess knew his nature yet she paired that naive girl with him.
It wasn't like he wasn't attracted to her. Heck, he was drawn to her immensely. Though she was beautiful she wasn't curvaceous. She was petite and still, he felt the insane pull towards her. It was those big-doe ocean eyes of hers that made him want to corrupt her.
That time he kissed her. He had never felt such a feeling before. Those crazy sparks, her soft cherry lips. Her delicate small body. Her scent. His wolf wanted to mark her then and there. It was a miracle that he controlled himself.
She had an effect on him and it was strong. It wasn't just a mate bond. It was stronger than that. It was not lust either. There was no denying that he wants her but he wants her willingly.
For a second he urged himself to forget about his revenge and think of a life with his mate.
The thoughts that raked his mind were beautiful. He wants to feel what Charlotte and Eren have. He wanted to feel what his parents had but he was afraid. Love can be beautiful for some but it could be lethal for others. If he gave in to these soft feelings towards Aurora then he would be giving her power over him.
Then it would be on her. She could either make him a happy man or ruin him forever.
