Draken was in the garden. He loves to spend his time in this peaceful place. This place helps him clear his mind. This was a barren place. Nobody takes care of it. It was that woman who made this backyard into beautiful heaven. Each of the flowers in this place was lovingly planted by her. She was the one who made this barren place into this garden which became Draken's sanctuary.
He recalled the time he had spent with her at this place. Talking to her as she consoled him on many occasions. She taught him how to love again.
Shaking his head he rubbed his palms on his face and sighed. The cool breeze felt calming. It was cold outside. It will be snowing soon; these days.
He rubbed his palm together when a light sneeze from some distance had his body going on full alert. Every muscle in his body tensed up. He didn't even smell someone else.
With steady steps, he walked closer to where the sound came from. His eyes narrowed when he noticed a fur gown of snow white shade and then long black locks.
Aurora was sitting on the bench as she gazed at the sky. His eyes widened slightly when he found her beautiful eyes glistening with tears. She was crying.
He didn't make a single sound so she wouldn't know of his presence.
He wondered why she was crying. Maybe she was in pain. But why was she out there in the cold? Her wounds would hurt more. She shouldn't be out there, she might catch a cold.
He saw how she wiped her tears and sniffed and another sneeze followed as she rubbed her nose, hugging her arms, she silently wept.
A dull ache in his chest made him uncomfortable. He didn't like how her tears affected him. His wolf wants to reach out and wipe her tears but he doesn't know how to console a crying person because he has never done that.
But everything has a start.
Aurora instantly wiped her tears and sat properly when she heard heavy footsteps followed by his scent. She didn't look at him. She just hoped he wouldn't notice that she cried.
She was expecting him to scold her but he silently sat beside her.
"What's wrong?" His deep voice was calm. Not that icy tone and that question wasn't what she expected from him either.
"Nothing much," she mumbled, playing with her fingers.
"You were crying," He said.
She peeked at him through the corner of her eyes. He had his hands buried in the pockets of his jacket. She could see a puff of breath coming out of his lips in the cold as he exhaled.
"I miss my family," she mumbled. She noticed how his knee was bouncing continuously. Was he nervous? She looked at his face which seemed emotionless.
She was about to stand when he forward his phone towards her. She stared at his phone and then at him.
"You can call them," He said.
She gaped at the phone before she took it from him instantly. What if he changes his mind, she should take the chance for now. She dialed Rasmus and he picked up on the third ring.
"How is my sister?" Rasmus's voice reached her ears and her eyes brimmed with tears again.
"It's me, Rasmus." Her voice was so gentle and vulnerable which caused Draken to glance at her through the corner of his eyes.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Rasmus asked as Aurora glanced at Draken before she slowly stood up and limped away from him.
Draken relaxed on the bench as he saw her talking to her brother. He noticed her smiling once in a while and he swore he could see warmth and love radiating off of her in waves. She loves her family immensely.
How'd it feel to have her love? This thought that his wolf put in his mind made him tense.
Draken stared at the red Roses which looked ethereal. These used to be her favorite.
Aurora was back as she forwarded him his phone. Her face was glowing and seeing her like that relaxed him. He took the phone from her with one hand and with the other hand he gave her a flower. Particularly a big red rose.
She stared at it surprised before she took it quietly because he gave no explanation why he was giving it to her.
"Thank you," She mumbled, staring at the phone as he gave a nod.
Aurora pivoted on the balls of her feet as she limped towards the mansion. She stared at the rose. It was beautiful. She noticed the stem carefully and all the thorns were removed. Not a single thorn was there.
Why would he give her a flower? First, he let her talk to her family, and then this flower.
She jumped in surprise when a hand circled her forearm to stop her and next thing she was carried in a bridal style. She gasped wrapping her arms around his neck but then she winced badly due to the movements on her stomach.
"Are you okay?" His deep voice caressed her forehead as she looked up at him and gave him a nod.
"I can walk on my own," she mumbled but he didn't answer that as he walked back inside.
Ascending the stairs carefully so as not to hurt her. He walked past her room causing her brows to furrow. He softly placed her on his bed as she sat properly and thanked him.
She sneezed.
"You caught a cold," He said.
"No, I'm fine." She mumbled.
"Don't argue," He said and she pouted glaring at his back.
He fumbled with his clothes in the closet before tossing one of his shirts at her without even turning around and it fell on her head. She pulled it away and her hair strands covered her face causing her to huff in annoyance as she pushed them away.
"Wear this," He said before walking into the bathroom.
