A knock on the door caught her attention as the door opened and Draken stepped in. His huge stature blocked the whole doorway.
She looked at him expectantly and he flitted his gaze away. "I've to attend a party tonight. Be ready by 7." He said and she blinked at him confused.
"I uh... I don't have a dress," She mumbled, still muddled.
"I've ordered a dress, you'll receive it in an hour." He said and she tilted her head with furrowed brows.
"Is it in the pack?" She asked.
"No, it's in the city," He said and her frown deepened.
"Okay," She mumbled as he glanced at her once before leaving.
She stared at the closed door for a while. He was taking her out to a party. She recalled how in the beginning he said he didn't want her family to know that she was doing okay.
From what she had learned. He would treat her with respect and care in front of his pack but he didn't want anyone else to know about this and she wondered why.
Just as he said, she received the dress. She took it out and the dress had her eyes twinkling with excitement. It was a beautiful black gown. Full sleeves, shoulderless. There were heels as well as earrings.
Did he choose all of this, she wondered.
Aurora stepped into the restroom for a long relaxing shower. She then started to get ready. She did light makeup. She wasn't a fan of makeup and she didn't know much either. She let her hair fall loosely as they cascaded down her back.
Aurora wore the dress and it clung to her upper body perfectly. She was thankful that it was flowy from down the waist.
She wore the heels, staring at her foot a little longer. She has healed properly. Every night Draken would take her to the woods for a run and she would wait patiently for the night to fall just so they could go for a run. He would tell her to run as fast as she could and she would oblige. He told her from next week he would be teaching her defensive skills and she was excited about it.
He wasn't as scary as a teacher as she thought him to be.
Aurora wore beautiful earrings which seemed expensive, she grabbed her phone and fancy clutch as she stepped out of her room, and at the same time his door opened and he stepped out.
His eyes fell on her and he paused for a fraction of a second. A breath fluttered past his lips as he gulped. His Adam's apple bobbing up and down. He walked up to her.
His onyx eyes roved her from head to toe and when his eyes rested on hers, she passed him a sweet smile making his heart beat at a chaotic pace. Why? He didn't know.
"You look beautiful," The words left his lips on their own accord as her eyes rounded in surprise.
He knows how to compliment.
Red tinted her cheeks as she lowered her gaze. She had noticed him as soon as he stepped out of that door. His solid frame was clad in a black tux that made him look like a top-notch model. From shiny black shoes to his perfectly gelled hair. He looked mouth-watering.
Aurora! She scolded herself for her stupid thoughts.
"You look handsome, Draken." She said with a smile on her cherry lips.
That organ in his chest did a wild thump against his ribcage. She shouldn't smile at him like that. It makes him want to kiss those luscious lips of hers. And the way his name sounded so alluring on her lips. He gulped.
"Ready?" He queried as she nodded her head.
Without a word, his hand slowly grabbed her small one in his large hand and he grasped it firmly.
Her heart skipped a beat as she inhaled sharply but did not object. She curled her fingers and clutched his hand.
They descended the stairs and the sight was to behold. They looked majestic. Just like beauty and the beast.
He opened the door for her as she got in the passenger seat.
He got into the driver's seat as he reversed out of the parking and put the car to drive.
The drive was smooth and filled with calming silence and she decided to break the ice. "Are those defense techniques hard or I'll get them quickly?" She asked like an excited child.
He snuck a side glance at her, keeping one of his hands on the steering wheel and the other hand resting on his thigh.
"Do you know a single technique? Even the smallest one?" He asked and she pouted and mumbled a small no.
"Then it'll be hard for you," He said truthfully and her shoulder slumped. "But you're a quick learner," He mumbled and he saw how her eyes lit up with small praise from him.
He kept his face passive.
"I'm excited. I always requested my brothers to train me but they would say they'll protect me. I'm really happy that you agreed to train me, so thank you." She flitted her gaze at him and he inhaled deeply giving her a curt nod.
They were in the city when he spoke up.
"Aurora?" She turned to look at him, they were at the red light.
"Hm,"
"There will be people in the party who are my enemies," He said calmly and her brows shot up.
"I will act cold towards you so they-"
"Why?" Her voice was small and sad.
He gulped and faced her.
"Alpha King's men would be there in disguise. They must know that I don't treat you right. This way Alpha King would know that you're not my weakness. I don't want my enemies to know that you're my weakness. I know what happens when-" He stopped, flitting his gaze back to the road.
She fixed her gaze on her lap. Did this mean she was his weakness? He was doing this to protect her.
"Okay," She mumbled as the light turned green and he put the car in drive.
He turned the next corner and they reached their destination.
The valet opened the door for them as Draken gave him the keys and waited for Aurora who came to stand beside him.
"Stay by my side," He mumbled closer to her ear as she nodded her head. He took a step forward when she grabbed his coat, stopping him. He turned to face her as she fidgeted with her fingers.
"I...I. don't like your cold side. I'll be playing along just because your reason is understandable. B.. but promise me you'll be back to the nice Draken once we leave the party," She mumbled keeping her gaze on his sturdy chest.
He restrained himself from kissing her then and there. Coming to her side he placed his veiny hand on the small of her back as he lowered down to her ear, inhaling her intoxicating scent deeply.
"I promise," He whispered and she breathed in sharply.
