Ruthless Mate - Chapter 49: Chapter 49

It was early dawn when they reached the Moon pack. Aurora was beaming as she kept staring out of the window. She looked like a child who was going to her favorite place.
As they got closer to the packhouse. She turned to face Draken who was peering at her all this time. She fidgeted with her fingers before speaking. "H...How do you want me to treat you in front of my family?" She asked in a small voice.
She knew Draken didn't want anyone to know that he was a good guy. He must've had his reasons. She was glad he brought her here, so she would do as he wanted.
Perching her chin up he made her look at him. "Treat me as you like, Princess." He rasped and her cheeks heated up, she dropped her gaze and gave him a shaky nod.
The car came to a halt and her eyes lit up seeing the place where she grew up. Getting out of the car she dashed towards the packhouse where Rasmus emerged from the main door and next thing Aurora threw herself at him, hugging him tightly as he smiled.
"You came," He said as Aurora gave him a teary, beaming smile.
"Everyone is waiting for you," Rasmus said as Aurora scrambled inside. Rasmus stretched out his hand as Draken shook it.
"Thank you," Rasmus said as Draken gave him a curt nod.
Emma let out a sob as she hugged Aurora who was also crying. Angela hugged them both all teary.
"Aurora," Xander called as Aurora sniffed, pulling away from Emma only to loop her arms around her father's neck who hugged her tightly. Xander's eyes glossed up but he blinked rapidly to control his emotions.
Pulling back Xander gave a kiss on her forehead as she grinned at her father with teary eyes.
"Hunter told me you got your wolf. My strong daughter," Xander said proudly as Aurora wiped her tears as she looked back and found Draken's eyes.
"It was all because of Draken. He helped me," Aurora whispered and everyone became silent.
Draken tried not to shift on his feet when all their gazes set on him. He didn't like such attention.
Hunter walked to Aurora and gave her a side hug.
Emma walked to Draken who stood there uncomfortably. Emma softly patted his arm in a motherly manner making him tense. "Thank you for taking care of my daughter," Emma said and Draken felt a lump forming in his throat as he gave her a curt nod.
Xander walked to Draken and shook his hand. "Have a seat," Xander said as he motioned at the sofa.
"I'm going to see, Cath," Aurora said as she ambled towards the stairs when she stiffened. Her eyes met with the cold gray hues of Luca.
The darkness in his eyes almost forced her to step back. "Welcome home," He said.
She gulped wetting her parched throat. "H...How are you?" She whispered completely unaware of someone drilling holes at the back of her head with their vehement gaze.
"Don't pretend that you care," Luca said, lowly before he stepped aside and descended the stairs.
Breathing in deeply she walked into Rasmus's room where Cath lay on the bed. The room was turned into a mini hospital with all the medical equipment.
Agatha sat beside Cath. Aurora walked to her side as she held Catherine's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
"You came," Cath croaked as Aurora nodded at her. She hugged Agatha. There were three lady doctors in the room out of them two were gynecologists. They were the pack doctors.
"You're fully dilated. I want you to push, Cath." The doctor said as Rasmus walked into the room. Coming to Catherine's side he grabbed her hand and whispered her sweet nothings.
Cath has been in labor since last night. It must be such a painful and difficult time for her.
Aurora stood near the closed door as Emma and Agatha helped the doctors. Aurora's heart warmed up seeing how Rasmus was so supporting and loving to Catherine in her pain.
She was proud of her brother. Aurora was on the edge as she watched the life being born. The process scared the living daylights out of her. She couldn't even imagine the pain Cath was going through.
A small cry echoed in the room amongst Cath's heavy panting.
"It's a baby girl," the doctor announced as Emma let out a teary chuckle.
"She's not a hybrid," Agatha said and Aurora smiled in relief. She knows the pain your body has to face as a hybrid. She was glad that Rasmus's daughter wasn't a hybrid.
Agatha cleaned the baby and wrapped her in a cloth as she placed the baby in Catherine's arms who was crying, even Rasmus had tears in his eyes.
"You made me the happiest man today," Rasmus beamed, kissing the small baby who slowly opened her eyes and olive eyes stared back at Rasmus, making him chuckle.
Doctors cleaned Cath and covered her up properly as Agatha went to call everyone.
Within seconds everyone swarmed the room and was all over the baby. Angela was chirping joyously as Hunter and Luca congratulated Rasmus. Xander picked up the baby and grinned at Cath as he congratulated his kids and faced Emma. "I never knew you'd become such a sexy grandma," Xander mused and Emma's jaw slacked as she slapped his arm playfully. "Shut up, grandpa." Emma mused as she took a baby from him and handed it to Aurora.
"Go, show the baby to Draken," Emma whispered in Aurora's ear as Aurora stared at her mom confused but still obliged. Draken was standing in the doorway with his hands tucked in his pockets. He tensed when Aurora approached him holding a small pretty baby in her arms.
At that moment his heart palpitated enormously and he couldn't help but think of having a family with Aurora. The thought of it was so warm and soothing.
"Isn't she beautiful? She got Rasmus's eyes," Aurora grinned, he glanced at the baby and then at her. He didn't realize when the corner of his lip curled up and at that moment he was just seeing the baby and Aurora completely unaware of all the eyes set on them.
Emma smiled a sigh of relief as she witnessed something in Draken's eyes that wasn't there before.
"Would you like to hold her?" Aurora asked and his eyes widened slightly as he shook his head. "I might hurt her," He said abruptly and she chuckled at him. Walking back Aurora gave the baby back to Cath.
"What are we naming her?" Angela beamed as Cath smiled.
"Sarah," Cath said and everyone stiffened.
"This baby will bring back happiness in our home," Cath said as Luca and Hunter smiled at Cath and Rasmus kissed her temple whispering a small thank you to her.
Raw sorrow engulfed Draken's heart seeing this beautiful family, he could have had a family too like this but...
He breathed in deeply before walking away from there.
