Draken was in the garden when he felt someone's gaze on him. He sighed.
"You can come out now. I can sense you," Draken said and after a long minute, a girl emerged out of the shadows. It was Angela. Aurora's little sister. She was probably 12 or 13 years old.
"Ummm, sir. I need to speak with you," She said professionally as if he was her boss and she was his employee and the way she looked scared as if he was going to fire her from the job.
"Have a seat," He said with that soft tone, which he used only with Aurora. He tilted his head motioning to her.
He could tell she was scared of him and probably contemplating and whatnot. Their first impression of him wasn't pretty cool now, was it?
She strutted to him and took a seat beside him on the bench. A fleeting moment passed before she cleared her throat. She opened her mouth to speak before shutting it again, she snuck a glance at him and flinched turning crimson when she found his eyes already staring at her. She curled her fingers into a fist on her lap.
"Ummm... I...I'm Angela," She introduced herself.
"I'm Draken," He forward his hand and she gaped at it with big forest-green eyes before sneaking a glance at him.
She placed her trembling small hand in his and he gave it a firm shake as she gulped pulling her hand back.
"I...I... wanted to say that Aurora is very fragile and timid. She's the heart of our family. We all love her a lot. Our house became so empty when you took her away. I...I.. just wanted to say that you took a very precious person from us. Please take care of our heart," Angela whispered as he watched the girl immediately wiping her tears away.
"I will take care of her," He assured her genuinely and Angela gaped at him.
"Promise?" She asked, raising her pinky finger. A swarm of emotions flashed in his eyes as his heart squeezed in pain recalling her.
Draken looped his pinky finger around Angela's and a soft smile appeared on her lips.
Draken couldn't help to stop the ache in his heart as he stared at Angela. The pain so brutal engulfed him as he tried to suppress it.
"You're not so scary compared to the first time you came here," Angela said and he cracked a smile.
"I'll take that as a compliment." He mumbled.
"To be honest, I wanted to strangle you to death when you first took Aurora away from us," Angela whispered and he cocked up his brow at her.
"Please have mercy, Angela." He said raising his hands in surrender and pretending to be scared and she burst out laughing. His lips curled up as he smiled at her and he felt warmth in his heart. The way he only felt for Aurora but this warmth was a different kind.
The feeling he never got to feel before. Were these brotherly feelings that he was deprived of? The feelings he always yearned for?
"You're not a ruthless man as rumors say," Angela muttered.
"Are you sure?" He asked and she bobbed her head.
"Dad said that you're a good man. The world made you like this but are a good man," Angela repeated what her father had told her mom to soothe her when Draken took Aurora with him.
Draken succumbed to silence. That man might've aged but he was a true wise Alpha through and through who could read people so easily. But still, this was the same man who might've helped Draken's enemy and if that was the case, Draken didn't know what he would do.
Draken noticed when he felt Aurora's gaze on him. When he turned to look at her she disappeared. He sighed. Since morning he was unable to get his hands on his mate. Her family was keeping her so occupied that he just felt like snatching her from them and going back to his pack.
Look, what she has done to him. He had started sounding like a bratty child.
"Aurora told me you're training her?" Angela queried, garnering his attention back to her. "Yes," He answered truthfully and Angela seemed so excited. "I'll ask Hunter to train me too." She grinned and he gave her an appreciative nod.
He was glad he hadn't come across Hunter or Luca. They both piss him off.
"Can I ask you for a favor?" Angela chirped and he gave a nod.
"Would you let us visit Aurora sometime in your pack? Please. It's just we miss her a lot, and as we are sisters you don't even know how much gossip I have stored to share with her," Angela muttered and he chuckled at her.
"Of course, you can visit her. But never alone. You're allowed to come only with your brothers," He said.
He didn't know why he agreed to that knowing Alpha King was after him. If he got to know Draken was warming up to the Moon pack. He would use it against Draken.
"You're the best," Angela chirped.
"Draken?" She called him.
"Mhmm?"
"Do you love my sister?" Angela's question took him off-guard. He had never thought about it but deep down he knows.
He knows the answer to it but he was too scared to admit it. He gulped as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
"The tips of your ears tinted red, it means you do love her," Angela pointed out with a smirk while poking his ear tip and he flushed even more.
"I...I haven't seen your sister. Could you fetch her for me?" He asked not meeting her gaze as Angela giggled. "Aye Aye Alpha," She stood up, gave him a salute in a pirate way, and strolled inside.
Draken breathed in deeply while staring at the dark inky sky that sparkled with stars.
Raking his fingers through his hair he gazed at nothingness.
He recalled how Aurora was holding the baby. He couldn't get that sight out of his head. He wants a family with Aurora. He wonders if she likes him.
