Just a few minutes after Angela walked away. He felt anxious all of a sudden but that wasn't it. He felt fear and pain. It took him a few seconds to realize that these emotions weren't his. It was the mate bond.
Aurora.
His eyes widened as he stood up abruptly and turned around only to find a hysteric-looking Angela running up to him with tears streaming down her cheeks.
His body moved on its own as he dashed inside the mansion past Angela. He followed Aurora's scent and all he saw was red when he found Luca holding her hand. The tears and fear in Aurora's eyes towards Luca made him see red.
Lunging forward he threw a solid punch at Luca who stumbled back. Draken would've killed that f*cker if Aurora didn't hug him.
She pleaded with him and he controlled his rage. Giving a menacing glare to Luca he dragged Aurora out of there.
Aurora closed the door of her room as soon as Draken stepped inside. She turned to face Draken who was hovering over her like a fuming beast. "Why didn't you let me kill that f*cker?" He gritted out trying to control his rage.
He noticed how her chin quivered and her lower lip wobbled as she placed her shaky hands on his chest to calm him down.
"H...he's family," She mumbled and he sighed. Placing his hands on the door beside her head he rested his forehead against hers and breathed in deeply to calm down and her scent calmed him down.
He moved as he rested his arm on the door above her head and wiped her tears with his free hand. His callous hand cupped her fluffy cheek as he made her look at him.
"Are you okay?" His voice was gentle and she sniffed, bobbing her head.
He gently kissed her forehead and she closed her eyes shut feeling his warmth consuming her.
"I'm o...okay," She breathed shakily trying to control her rapid heartbeat.
Draken grabbed her hand that was on his chest and she winced. He moved back to look at her hand and his gaze darkened seeing her red burnt skin which was healing. "He's dead," Draken growled, ready to leave when she placed her hands on his chest again, stopping him as she looked up at him.
"No. No. I...I... was making tea for you, it fell on my hands," She cleared out immediately as Draken narrowed his eyes at her.
Dropping her gaze she wrapped her arms around his torso and hugged him tightly.
He stiffened for a second as his eyes widened for a fraction of a second before he wrapped his bulky arms around her delicate form hugging her tightly. He dipped his head in the crook of her neck. Inhaling deeply.
"If he ever hurt you again. I'll kill him," Draken grumbled against her neck as his lips brushed against her skin making her shudder. She could feel his body shaking as he was controlling his anger and she hugged him more tightly to calm him down.
Aurora tried to move back but he didn't let her as he hugged her tightly. With one of his hands on her waist while the other on her nape and scalp
"S...should I get you tea?" She asked in a muffled voice against his chest but he didn't answer.
She again tried to move back but he kept her in place. "No, don't move." He murmured against her skin.
"I want to stay like this for a while," He husked and she gulped. Standing there while hugging his torso. She blinked and noticed how his hard muscles were pressed against her soft body.
She swallowed and tried to stay as calm as possible. Moving away one hand she fidgeted with a switch beside them and then all of a sudden the room lit up and just like he was brought back to reality as he let her go and stepped back.
She wasn't crying anymore as she lowered her gaze.
Draken's eyes fell on the photo frame that was on the study table. Ambling to it he grabbed the frame and stared at the girl in the picture. She looked probably 12 and was smiling brightly at the camera with her big ocean eyes.
"Beautiful," He murmured, staring at the photo, she flushed red feeling embarrassed as she hurriedly took the frame from his hand and put it in the drawer closing it.
He stared at her with amusement. "Aren't you sleepy?" She asked fidgeting with her fingers.
He grabbed her jaw and redirected her gaze to him. He didn't like it when she looked away. She stared at him wide-eyed with her cheeks squished together.
"Very much," He muttered as his eyes lowered to her lips and he inched closer. Her heartbeat quickened thinking he was about to kiss her when the door was knocked startling her. She abruptly moved away from him and strode to the door. She opened it slightly and found her mother standing there.
"Aurora, dear. Can I talk to you for a bit?" Emma asked softly as Aurora bobbed her head.
"I'll be back soon," Aurora said, passing an innocent look to Draken who was frustrated with her family snatching her away from him. Still, he gave her a nod as she stepped out.
Draken was about to step into the restroom but stopped when he heard Emma's voice.
"Aurora, can I ask you something?" Emma asked, holding her daughter's hands as Aurora nodded.
"Is Draken treating you right? You've got your wolf right. If he's forcing you to stay with him you can tell me, Aurora. Your family is alive. We will protect you. You don't have to stay with him if you don't want to," Emma said as raw worry dripped from her voice.
Aurora squeezed Emma's hands. "He's treating me right, mom. He's a good man." Aurora said with a soft smile as Emma's heart felt at peace.
Draken stood there on the other side stiffly. Hearing everything.
"Does he love you?" Emma asked and Aurora stiffened at that question.
Love?
Did he love her?
She didn't know.
"He takes care of me, mom." She mumbled and Emma nodded her head.
"Aurora, if you agree, I want you to get married to Draken," Emma said.
As a human Emma wants her kids to get married to their mates. For werewolves only mate bond matters but as Emma's human, marriage is important to her.
Aurora hesitated. "I...I... don't know if Draken would agree," Aurora mumbled softly.
"Shall I ask him?" Emma queried.
"I..."
The door opened and Draken stepped out startling both women.
"What do you want to ask me?" Draken asked, focusing his gaze on Emma.
