All the breath escaped her lungs as she groaned feeling his hard shoulder digging into her belly.
It took her a second to compose herself as her small fists rained punches on his back but it did not affect him. "P...put m...me down," She tried to sound angry and cold but her voice came out scared.
He would kill her now.
She struggled only for his arm to tighten around the back of her thighs. She jerked her hair to one side as she tried to figure out where he was taking her.
To the dungeons probably so he could cut her up into tiny little pieces and then feed her off to wild animals.
Tears brimmed her eyes but she refused to cry. She will not back down without a fight.
"STOP!" She screeched and did something unexpected. She started pinching his back and tried to bite him but his back was so firm that she couldn't get a bite no matter how much she tried, but the last attempt was successful as she got a grip on his skin and she bit him with everything that she got.
He barely twitched before she jolted badly and her body went rigid. Her eyes widened in horror and she flushed.
He spanked her.
Her rear throbbed at the assault and she felt humiliated.
The next thing she found herself back on the countertop as he smoothly stood between her legs.
Her eyes teared up as she tried to scoot back but he grabbed her thigh. Her eyes were fixed on his chest.
"Y...you c...can't k..kill m...me j...just because I accidentally t..threw j...juice at you..." She stammered badly. He guided his hand up and she instantly shielded her face thinking that he was going to strike her and his hand paused mid-air.
When nothing happened she slowly opened her eyes and peeked at him through her lashes.
Her breath hitched and she stopped breathing when she found a dark look marring his face.
His brows were knitted together in anger as he glared at her. Her chin quivered and her lips wobbled. What did she do now?
"S...sorry," She stuttered and he moved back, giving his back to her.
She didn't dare say a word. Her heart trembled in her chest as she sat there immobile. Every cell in her body screamed at her to run but she was terrified to even move.
Her fingers quivered in fear. She was clutching her fists to stop the shaking. Her eyes were fixed on his back. With each passing second, her heart was dropping down into the pit of her stomach.
The anxiety was eating her alive. It was as if at any second she would collapse because of the immense fear.
"Leave," His deep gruff tore through the grim silence, had her flinching in immense fear.
She forced her body to move as she hopped down the counter. Her legs were wobbly as she grabbed the counter for support. She glanced at his back one last time before staggering out of there.
Once inside her room, she closed the door, bolted it, and breathed in deeply.
Her heart was pounding in her ears as she sat down on the bed and tears came as if the dam broke. She hiccupped and tried to stifle her cries.
She was so scared. The look in his eyes. He seemed enraged as if he would kill her.
Her stomach churned in anxiety as she lay back and pulled her legs up in a fetal position. She cried soundlessly while muffling her sobs. How will she live her whole life like this in constant fear?
Aurora lay there crying softly and slowly sleep consumed her.
The next morning she woke up to a knock on her door. She blinked her eyes open and sprinted out of the bed and stumbled before she stood near the door breathing rapidly.
She was scared. Was it him?
She didn't want to open the door if it was him.
"Luna?" It was a feminine voice as the knock followed.
She breathed in deeply and hurriedly patted her hair to look proper. She slowly opened the door and found a beautiful girl with brown eyes and a beautiful smile. She seemed to be in her mid-twenties standing in the doorway. She was holding a tray of food.
"I brought you breakfast," She smiled and Aurora opened the door for her.
The girl walked in as she placed the tray on the coffee table. She then faced Aurora. "Hi, I'm Charlotte." The girl introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Aurora. Nice to meet you Charlotte," Aurora said in a tender voice causing Charlotte to look at her in awe.
"I can't believe Draken got you as a mate," Charlotte said and Aurora's heart stuttered. What did she mean? Was Aurora that bad?
"You look so fragile and delicate, well he on the other hand seemed so barbaric and cruel. It's not that he's barbaric," Charlotte chuckled.
"Please have your breakfast and then I'll be back," Charlotte winked at her before leaving the room.
She said he wasn't barbaric.
Aurora gulped as she walked into the ensuite bathroom and freshened up.
She ate her breakfast in silence. She was thankful to Charlotte because she was so hungry.
Once done Aurora thought of taking the tray back to the kitchen but then Draken's cold eyes flashed in her mind and she decided against it.
She took out a new set of clothes from her suitcase and ambled into the bathroom to take shower.
The water felt relaxing as she stood under the shower for a while until her fingertips started to wrinkle.
She towel-dried her body and wore her clothes. Padding out of the restroom she found Charlotte in her room.
"You should unpack it," Charlotte said looking at the open suitcase. Aurora stiffened knowing that her phone was in there. Walking up to it she closed the suitcase and placed it inside the cupboard.
"Y...yes, I'll do it." She whispered and turned to face Charlotte.
"Come on, Luna. I'll show you around the place," Charlotte said with a smile and Aurora got happy for a slight second but soon dread crept in. She didn't want Draken to see her at all. Last night's encounter was scary enough.
"I... I'm fine, thank you." She said gently not to offend her.
Charlotte pouted. "Draken told me to show you around as he left for a meeting in the packhouse," She said and Aurora blinked at her. This meant he wasn't in the house right now.
Thank God.
"O..okay, let's go," Aurora said and Charlotte smiled though she was confused at her sudden change in answer.
They walked out of the room. Aurora couldn't believe that he asked Charlotte to show her around. And the fact that Charlotte calls him Draken rather than Alpha means she must be of some high status as well.
Charlotte showed her around the whole mansion before they walked out into the garden. "Luna, do you like flowers?" Charlotte asked and Aurora nodded her head.
"P..please don't call me Luna. Just Aurora will do," Aurora said and Charlotte smiled at her.
"Of course, you know Aurora. Draken loves the garden." Charlotte said and Aurora's eyes widened in awe when she saw beautiful flowers all around. And the garden was so vast and spacious. It was beautiful.
There was also a huge L-shaped pool in the garden and she was stunned by the beauty of this place. It was still cold outside but thanks to warm sunlight it was bearable.
"This place is beautiful," She mumbled and Charlotte beamed at her.
"This is Alpha's sanctuary," Charlotte stated and Aurora couldn't help but think. A cold ruthless man will look so odd in such a beautiful place.
"Let's go inside," Charlotte said as they walked back inside.
"So, Aurora. What was it like in the Moon pack? I've heard a lot about your brothers, the two strong Alpha's of the moon pack." Charlotte said and a smile spread across Aurora's lips.
"My brothers are my protectors. My pack is loving and caring. You should come with me, you'll love it there-" Her words halted and she realized what she had said. She didn't even know if she would ever be able to go back to her pack.
"It sounds great," Charlotte said, lighting her mood. Aurora was surprised by her kind nature. She had thought that his pack would treat her like an enemy but Noah was kind and so was Charlotte.
"A..are you a warrior or, it's okay if you don't want to answer," Aurora said and Charlotte chuckled.
"I'm not a warrior, well my parents are pack's doctors. And also my mate is the beta of the pack," Charlotte said and there was happiness in her voice.
Aurora's eyes widened slightly in surprise. "And also I'm Draken's childhood friend," She mused. This explains why she called him by his name rather than the title.
"Oh shit," Charlotte explained.
"I forgot to tell you about the ritual," Charlotte said and Aurora's brows furrowed.
"What ritual?" She asked innocently.
"Well, it's ridiculous in this century but the elders in our pack take it damn seriously," Charlotte said and Aurora's heartbeat increased.
Why did she feel scared of whatever ritual this was?
"The Luna of the pack must be a virgin. And tomorrow they'll be at the doorstep to collect the evidence of your purity from Alpha Draken," Charlotte said and Aurora's heart dropped down into the pit of her stomach.
