Charlotte was persistent in aiding her to get ready for the night but Aurora's heart kept dropping down deeper and deeper.
Aurora told her that she took care of her hygiene and that she was all neat and clean. There was no need of getting her ready for that crazy ritual.
Charlotte on the other hand seemed excited about it at first but seeing the worry etched over Aurora's face told her otherwise. She left the girl alone.
Aurora was pacing her room. Her heart was beating fast and she was panicking nonstop.
She can't sleep with him. She would never sleep with him, mate or not. The man has done nothing that loving mates do. The only thing he did was threaten her and that was all.
Even the thought of sleeping with him had her whole body trembling in fear.
How would she face him tonight?
She should probably lock her door. She gazed at her door and couldn't help but think about his huge muscular stature. He was a man and he could easily break down that door.
What can she do?
Escape?
The thought of it was pretty appealing to her but almost his whole pack didn't know her and if by any chance someone caught her sneaking away, they would surely try to capture her thinking of her as an enemy, rogue, or a traitor. There were so many scary possibilities.
But sleeping with him was not a thing that she could even consider in her options.
What will she do?
If something like that was so important, he would've done it yesterday night but he didn't even mention such a thing.
A thought raked her mind and the mere thing rattled her very being. He won't force her, would he?
He can't be this cruel to her.
With each passing second, her heart sank more into the pit of her stomach.
She paced the room in fast strides. Her mind conjured up anything that could save her tonight.
The hours passed in a blur and soon it was dark outside. Charlotte brought her dinner and a package.
Aurora's hunger died a severe death when she found black lingerie in the package.
"C...Charlotte please..." Aurora said in raw anxiety.
Charlotte's brows furrowed. This was the first time someone was scared of sleeping with their mate. Mostly she-wolves were excited about such things.
"It's okay, dear. The first time hurts but you'll be fine." Charlotte tried to reassure her, completely unaware of her turmoil.
"Charlotte, I am his enemy's daughter. He didn't bring me here out of the love of mate bond or anything. P...please I can't do this." Aurora said in a broken voice and Charlotte's eyes softened.
"Then tell him no," Charlotte said and Aurora blinked at her.
"W...will he listen?" She asked, scared.
Charlotte seemed hesitant. "You know how werewolves crave to mate as soon as they find their mate. And as he is the Alpha he will have the strongest urge to claim you as his and mark you but if you don't want it he'll understand. You're his mate. He will listen to you," Charlotte tried to reassure her but Aurora wasn't stupid.
Charlotte had told her earlier how seriously the elders of this pack take this ritual. Draken would not consider her feelings for a bit. He would surely think about the elders and this ritual more.
The more she thought about it the more her stomach churned in anxiety.
She was his enemy's daughter. What could be more appealing to him rather than tormenting her?
She has seen the snippets of his rage. The smallest disobedience from her side has infuriated him. There was no chance that he would spare her.
He would gladly hurt her in the name of this crazy ritual.
Charlotte left after reassuring her that he would listen to her but no matter how much Aurora tried to compose herself. Her bravado was in chaos.
What if she said no and he disregarded her completely and still proceeded to claim her? What will she do then?
She was not as strong as him. She was not even a strong werewolf but just a mere hybrid. Her strength was nothing compared to his. She won't be able to stop him if he tries to opt for force.
She felt like crying.
Walking to the walk-in closet she opened her suitcase and took out her phone. Switching it on the notifications popped up on the screen.
Thirty-three missed calls. Rasmus, Hunter, Luca. They all tried to call her. She checked the messages sent by them.
'Don't worry Aurora. We are looking for a way to get you out of there. Stay strong. If he tries anything just text me and he won't be left alive to see the next day.' She read Rasmus's message and her eyes glossed up even more.
Hunter has also texted her to stay strong. He'll get her out of there soon.
She read the name Luca but didn't open his message.
Switching off her phone, she hid it back in her suitcase.
Walking to the bed she grabbed the lingerie and tore the flimsy material into shreds.
Locking the door, she turned off the light and sat on the couch while breathing in deeply as she wiped her eyes of any tears.
She won't let him have his way with her. She will straight on say no to him. She will be strong and fight him head-on.
The time passed in deafening silence. She stared out of the window contemplating if she would survive jumping out of there if he attacked her.
Her eyes fell on the tray of food and she noticed a fork there. Though she has no weapon, that fork would be of little help if he goes all vicious on her.
It was late at night and she was hoping that he wouldn't show up but luck wasn't on her side when she heard heavy footsteps approaching.
The sound of it was light but as it got closer, her heart dropped even more. She stopped breathing when the steps stopped right in front of her door.
She could see the shadow of his shoes from the light that crept into her room from under the sill of the door.
A loud knock came on the door and she flinched in her place. Palming her mouth she didn't even dare to let any sound out.
She prayed that he would leave thinking that she slept but who was she kidding?
Another knock came after a pause and it was louder than before.
Aurora didn't move. She stayed rooted to her spot on the couch while hugging her knees to her chest. She was terrified.
"Aurora?" His deep voice boomed her name with a loud bang on the door. She watched in horrific silence as the doorknob rattled furiously.
Tears of fear gathered in her eyes. Why was he so mad? He should get the hint that she didn't want it and leave her alone.
"I know you're listening. Open the f*cking door!" He growled as he banged on the door viciously.
Aurora stifled a cry and closed her eyes shut in fear.
And just like that, he walked away. She slowly opened her eyes and stared at the door. She shakily padded towards the door but she didn't even reach it when she heard his footsteps and the next thing she heard was the noise of keys and her doorknob twisted open.
Before she could even react, the door burst open and he stood inside her room making the room look smaller.
She took a shaky step back, her eyes wide and her body rigid when she noticed the dark icy look in his onyx hues.
"Why the f*ck weren't you opening the door?" He growled prowling towards her causing her to stumble a few steps back until the back of her legs hit the couch and she fall on it.
He didn't stop until his legs were inches away from touching her knee and he glared down at her like a cold ruthless beast.
She couldn't look him in the eyes and her gaze dropped. She noticed he was wearing a loose sando with sweats. She didn't even dare to notice the dragon tattoo.
"I assume Charlotte had already informed you about the ritual," He said coldly glaring daggers down at her.
She didn't say anything nor did she nod her head. Her heart was thumping so loudly that she was sure it would burst out of her ribcage.
He took a step back and pivoted on his feet noticing the tray of food untouched sitting on her side table. "Let's go to my room," He said calmly, he also noticed the shreds of black cloth on the floor, he could decipher what it was. Her heart churned into dread as she forced herself to speak.
"N..no..." she stuttered in a barely audible voice but he heard it and stopped walking.
"No?" His voice was draped with icy malice as he slowly turned around to gaze at her.
The coldness of his eyes demanded her to cower back in fear as Alpha's aura radiated off of him in waves, she was intimidated but she won't back down either.
"I...I d..don't w..want to sleep with you." She said with mustered-up courage as she wiped her left cheek to hide the tear of trepidation that trickled down.
He tilted his head ever so lightly. The dark ferocious look in his eyes had her insides screaming at her to run far away from him.
"I didn't ask if you want it or not," He sneered before grabbing her arm and yanking her to him.
Her heart froze and she barely glanced at the window, her mind screaming at her to run but he noticed it before she could act on it and he abruptly grabbed her tightly, throwing her over his shoulder as if she was a rag of potatoes.
"Be silent and we'll be done with it soon," He sneered as he started to walk out of her room.
Aurora's heart ceased to beat at his words.
Aurora told her that she took care of her hygiene and that she was all neat and clean. There was no need of getting her ready for that crazy ritual.
