                    The Real Host
“Okay, now take a deep breath and close your eyes” Belle’s brother Nicholas instructed.
I was in his private clinic and judging by his looks, he was better at this than I thought he would be. I closed my eyes keeping it shut tightly. And I took a deep breath. My mind called out for Yuri. I needed to show him the other side of me.
I wanted this to end, but eliminating Yuri wasn’t a choice I could make. Even though my hatred towards Yuri had grown vastly over two weeks, I couldn’t bring myself to betray her. Because I wasn’t as cold hearted as she was. So I merely took this opportunity to get checked out by a professional. I let myself sink inside, and felt myself fading away to the darkness.
”I hope Yuri handles this situation maturely” I hoped and then I was gone.

Yuri opened her eyes to a bright light shining at her face. “Whoa, who the hell are you?” She demanded.
“Would you look at that? Even the expressions and the attitude changed!” He spoke to a dark figure behind him.
“Belle! What the hell are you doing?” Yuri shrieked. Belle didn’t talk back instead she looked at the man who pointed the bright light to her eyes. “Stop that! What is going on?” Yuri stood up and yelled.
“Stop freaking out, we are just testing you both, to see what’s causing the switch” Belle replied quietly.
She wasn’t even in the mood to fight with Yuri because her attention was solely towards Sasha who had refused actual help but accepted a regular basic checkup not to betray Yuri. Sasha had let go of the one chance of them ever being together.
“Yuri, My name is Nicholas Reid; I am Belle’s eldest brother and a therapist. Sasha came to me, just for a checkup, that’s all. Will you please sit back down so I can do my job? Don’t you want to know what is happening to your body?” Nicholas asked.
Yuri realized she did indeed want to know what was going on. Even though she didn’t trust Belle’s brother she sat down because he had offered to help, and she didn’t have to explain to him about the two personalities without looking like a fool.
“Okay, let’s start with the dilation of your eyes. It seems more responsive than Sasha’s”. He spoke. Yuri didn’t understand what he had meant but she let him go on. He drew some of her blood and kept it in a small container.
“Did you take Sasha’s blood too?” She asked curiously.
“Yes, I did. I will check them both tonight and call you with results” Nicholas assured her.
“What results?” Yuri managed to ask. For some reason, she was okay with Sasha seeking out for help. With everything that has been happening between them, she thought it was nice of Sasha to be concerned about the switch and taking attention towards it.
Nicholas looked at Belle unable to answer her question. “We are checking to see who the real owner of your body is” Belle answered.
It was clearly about time Yuri realized that maybe there was a slight chance that Sasha was the host. Belle’s words began to kick in Yuri’s body and she let out a grunt as she rejected them.
“I am the real owner. I have been living inside this body since I was born. Sasha came out four days after my seventeenth birthday” Yuri’s voice rose louder.
“Well, it won’t hurt to check and be sure” Nicholas said smiling. Yuri stormed out from Nicholas Private Practice clinic. She realized Belle followed her. “Sasha didn’t want to betray you” she blurted out loudly.
“What?”
“I came up with a plan to eliminate you forever, but Sasha refused. She couldn’t betray you” Belle confessed.
Belle was heartbroken, because she understood that Sasha didn’t actually want to be with her. If she did, she could have at least made an effort. For Sasha, it was always about working things out with Yuri. And with Yuri in the picture, Belle would never have a relationship with Sasha.
“And why are you telling me this?” Yuri frowned.
“Because you knew all along that Sasha would never really betray you. But you still give her hell” Belle snapped. Her anger was not really at Yuri, it was at Sasha. What difference did it make anyway, they looked the same. Yuri smiled at Belle.
“I give her hell because she made my life a living hell, and she has no choice but to bow down to me”
It was easy, Yuri had the higher power and she abused it like she always does because she never really thought of Sasha as another person. She only thought about her being in the way of everything. Deep in her heart she knew she could never have a normal life again, and that just fires her anger up.
“You do know you have to get along with Sasha, that’s the only way of having a normal life” Belle confronted.
“A normal life? You think switching into another person is normal? Do you think forgetting what you do while the day passes is normal? Nothing about this is normal.” Yuri snapped again.
“Then get help! It is for your own good”, Belle spoke out.
“They’ll put me in a mental ward, then what do you think will happen to your Sasha, or me?” Yuri barked. People who walked by the road stared at them, because of the loud racket they were making.
“I’ll deal with Sasha my own way. You don’t have to worry about MY life” Yuri glared at Belle. Their conversation was getting rather heated.
“I won’t be there to worry, Yuri. I am leaving tonight.” Belle took a deep breath then continued. “Whether Sasha knew it or not, when I asked her to betray you, I was simply giving her an ultimatum. If she had chosen to betray you, I decided to stay. But my relationship with her will never go anywhere if she keeps bowing down to you. She’s too good of a person to deserve someone like me” Belle sniffed. Yuri saw tears fall down her cheeks.
“No” spoke a voice inside Yuri’s head. She could imagine this breaking Sasha’s heart.
“Where a-are you going?” she stammered a bit.
“I am leaving to Paris tonight at eight. My father’s job transferred him there, so me and my mom decided to move back.” This was the first time Yuri asked anything about Belle’s life. She felt strange and so did Belle.
“And your brother? Is he leaving too?” Yuri asked out of curiosity.
“No, he’ll be staying here since he has his own Private Clinic. Just promise me, you will consult him if anything strange happens other than switching. I don’t want Sasha getting hurt” Belle cautioned.
Yuri could see why Sasha liked Belle from the beginning, she was overprotective and caring. She, herself could have been good friends with Belle if she didn’t have trust issues. That was the main reason why she couldn’t let Sasha in.
“I’ll think about it. Goodbye Belle”
Yuri walked straight home; she didn’t even want to take the bus. Her thoughts clouded her brain and she wasn’t able to think straight. She felt bad for Belle and Sasha as well.
Knowing that Sasha had chosen not to betray her made her feel happy inside. She settled herself in her room, and decided to do a video update for Sasha. It had been a long time since she talked calmly at her. She clicked record and cleared her throat.
“Err .. I don’t know where to begin, Sasha. I know I’ve been tough on you lately. But this is me making up for most part of it. Belle is leaving to Paris tonight at eight, for good. Apparently she thinks you both don’t stand a chance together because you chose not to betray me. So yeah, I am telling you this so you can either go and stop her or say your goodbyes. Okay bye.” She realized how awkwardly she had talked but decided not to care. She closed her eyes, and before she called out for Sasha, she heard her phone ring.
“Hello?” She answered.
“Hi, I am Dr.Nicholas speaking. I did the test and got your results. And I know who the real host of your body is.” He spoke. Yuri felt her heartbeat faster, she swallowed hard then she managed to spill out a word out of her mouth.
She wanted it out wide and open so she could make peace with it. She was finally ready to accept her disorder. She was finally ready to accept the results.
“Who is the real host?” She asked. His next words made Yuri’s eyes pop wide open.
