                    Holy Shit
I sat on the sofa drifting my angry thoughts away for a minute. I felt tears that had dried down my cheeks. Yuri had been crying, I realized. But did it really matter at this point? No. I had been constantly neglecting my own needs by putting Yuri’s first. Only to be stabbed by her in the end.
Judging by the empty house and the negative energy, I could sense things with Yuri and Jason hadn’t gone well either. One thing was for sure, my feelings had elevated back and I wasn’t sure where I stood anymore in the department of love.
I rested my back on the sofa and took a deep breath. I was alone. I had a host who I thought would always have my back but she had betrayed me. What has my life come to?
I went back to my room and found a yellow note stuck on the laptop screen.
“Watch the rest of the video. Please”
I rolled my eyes to her desperate need to seek attention. I wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction. Why should I? I had heard what I needed to hear. Yuri had confessed to be the total bitch that she is and I needn’t hear more. I saw on the bed staring at the laptop, as much as I wanted to protect my pride I wanted to swallow it and watch the rest of the video. Why do I have to be this soft hearted?
Without much thought, I played it.
““After I accepted the request, we talked. I really didn’t think it would get out of control. I just needed to talk to someone who I could always count on. You helped me realize a lot of things; you helped me accept who I really am. And I think I helped you move on from Belle. I was honest with you, completely except my identity. Riley is the person I was before the whole thing with my father happened. I was enjoying being me with you, Sasha. I never ever meant to hurt you. Everything I told you is the truth, even about the part where I said I liked you. I know it’s crazy but I can’t help myself. I would never hurt you because I love you. I just wish – “
What? Love? Me? No way.
This video must’ve been cursed because I don’t think I’ll ever be able to finish watching it. The palms of my hand covered my mouth as I sat on the bed trying to process what I just heard.
This can’t be happening.
Why on earth is this happening?
The host, falling in love with her alter?
It sounds ridiculous. It is ridiculous. I searched through the bed and found Yuri’s phone. Texting Jason was not the answer but I had no one else who’d try to understand the situation or help.
“Hey, it’s Sasha. How fast can you be here?”
It took fifteen minutes for Jason to arrive. Seeing him made me feel sadder this time. His hyped face had become serious. I knew Yuri must’ve told him everything and that’s why I needed him to be here.
“Do you want some coffee or tea?” I offered, feeling guilty. This couldn’t be normal even if I tried. We both knew that.
“Nah, I’m good” He replied quickly sitting down on the sofa.
“She . . . said something . .I am not sure. Did she tell you?” I stammered as I spoke. I needed answers and I needed the truth.
“She said that she has fallen for you, Sasha” Jason spoke firmly.
“That’s ridiculous” I managed to reply.
“I know. It is and I’m trying to make her realize that but she won’t listen to me. She says she’s sincere with her feelings towards you and its driving me insane to even think about it”
“So it’s true then, I don’t know what to say.”
“I don’t either. But you need to put some sense into her. I’ve never seen her cry like she did today”
“What else did she say?”
“Just that she’s following whatever’s in her heart and that I am either with her or against her”
“What did you say?”
“I left. I just left. I promised her once that no matter what happens I’ll always stand next to her but this time I couldn’t. She needs help”
“Help?”
“Yes, she needs to see a psychiatrist. She needs to get her shit together”
“I don’t agree with you” I murmured under my breath. Yuri seeing a psychiatrist seemed like a bad idea to me.
“What? Why? Yuri needs help, Sasha” Jason remarked.
“She needs help from us, not a psychiatrist. She’s just doing what I told her to. She’s following her heart” It was the truth although the circumstance begged to differ.
“She said she is falling for you, Sasha. You as in the alter that shares a life with her. She is in love with herself”
“Okay for the last time, we are not the same! I am trying to be positive here, I am trying to see past it”
“Trying to see past what? Can you imagine what Yuri’s life would become if she continues this?”
“No but I can imagine how she must be feeling if we turned our backs on her” I explained. It wasn’t easy considering what Yuri had done but I could see why she continued to be Riley. She was trying not to hurt herself. Many things didn’t make any sense but I in that moment didn’t hate Yuri. I pitied her.
“So you want me to be okay with this? Hell, you’re okay with this?” Jason asked angrily. His concern for Yuri was inescapable, so maybe Jason was an okay friend.
“I don’t want you to be okay with it. I want you to deal with it by being in her side. She needs you, especially now. She might not see it yet but when she finally realizes her insanity, I want you to be there to catch her when she falls.”
Jason listened to my words, and he bit his lips. Almost as if he was trying to keep words from spilling out from his mouth.
“You’re different.”
To this I smiled, it was clearly the one thing I wanted to hear someone else say.
“I know”
- *BLANK*
Coming back from the dark to a much darker life was difficult for Yuri. She stared at the guy who had broken his promise by leaving her when she needed him the most. Jason stood up from the couch and walked towards her.
“Don’t” Her words were sharp as a knife. Tears formed in her eyes and she let them roll down her cheeks.
“Yuri, I’m sorry” Jason managed to say.
“You promised me” She tried to push him away but he held her tight in his arms. “You promised you’ll always be there” She sobbed as she remembered.
“I did and I’m sorry”
“I’m sorry doesn’t cover it” Yuri pushed him away. This time Jason just stood in front of her and listened as she continued.
“You have no idea what I am going through. Everything hurts. My head feels like it’s going to burst” This day beats all the worst days of her life. She was hurting.
“Let me in then, let me help”
“You think I’m crazy.”
“You are crazy. I’ve said that throughout our entire relationship, you didn’t mind then” Jason smiled.
“What made you change your mind?”
“Sasha did”
Yuri smiled back. Maybe there was a chance; maybe there was just one possibility.
“She knows exactly what to say”
“Okay, rule number one. Don’t ever tell me about why or how you like Sasha”
“Why not? I thought you like hearing about what lesbian’s think of”
“Yeah but this is a different situation so no thank you”
Jason was back and for now that was enough for Yuri. Her life had turned upside down and she didn’t want to face what was coming, all alone. Knowing that Jason had her back, she knew she wouldn’t fall apart. And when it came to Sasha, Yuri didn’t know what was going to happen.

“Okay then what about the time I took you to my place to have breakup sex?” Jason munched his skittles as he asked.
“That would be Sasha” Yuri answered.
“Holy shit, I knew you were acting weird but I had no idea”
“Well it’s not like your first guess would be that it’s not your ex-girlfriend it’s her alter” Yuri remarked.
“Okay, how about when you texted me, that you wanted to break up for good?” Jason asked.
“That was me”
“What the fuck was that all about?” Jason asked casually.
“You clearly liked Sasha’s personality. She ties my hair, and talks back at you. Plus look where it got us, I’m glad I did it” Yuri rested her head on Jason’s shoulder.
“One more question, what’s the deal with Sasha and Belle? Belle knows too?”
Yuri couldn’t answer his question right away because she often asked herself the same question. What is the deal with Sasha and Belle? Yuri tried to hide her jealousy before she answered him.
“It’s a long story”
Their conversation came to a halt when the doorbell rang. It still hadn’t been a week till Yuri’s mom had flown to Paris. So it couldn’t be her. Jason gestured Yuri that he’d go to open it. Yuri waited behind Jason, thinking it might be her father again. But just as the door opened, Jason spoke.
“Hi Mrs. Williams”
Yuri’s mother entered the house with her bags. She was early but Yuri was glad to see her.
“You’re early” Yuri said as she wrapped her arms around her mom. Mrs. Williams looked at Jason and asked “You both were behaving?”
“Yes Ma’am” Jason chuckled as he replied.
“Paris was awesome, Yuri. I have lots to tell you, but first I have a surprise for you” Mrs. Williams spoke excitedly. There was a sound of a car door closing. Mrs. Williams opened the door wide enough for Yuri to see who was walking in with two heavy bags into her house.
“Guess who I ran into in Paris?” Yuri’s eyes opened wide as Mrs. Williams invited the ghost of a girl into their house.
“Holy shit” Jason murmured under his breath.
“Hi Yuri” Belle smiled as she spoke.
